Hi I have a new HTC Desire from Mobi PCS (Hawaii CDMA Carrier)
Baseband 2.15.00.02.17
Kernel 2.6.32.21-g3b4b13c
Build 2.13.557.0 CL342208
I've been searching fo a while now but I cant find an RUU for my software number.
Do I just have to wait?
Any advice?
Thanks
try to make a gold card and change the ruu for cdma
The only ruu roms listed for cdma are for verizon and I don't have verizon. If I ever need to take my phone in for repairs I would like to be able to flash the RUU back to the factory default. How do I go about getting an official RUU untouched rom for my phone?
You dont..There is none for your carrier available, and it's very unlikely there will ever be one(publicly available).
Have you installed a custom rom? If not just make a full nandroid backup of you phone as is, and You can just flash it and remove superuser.apk, su binary and flash a stock recovery/hboot and you should be as good as stock.

I bought a use desire Z , and Ihave a problem with the sims unlock, someone tell me it easier for me if I root it, but i don't find how to do with my configuration...

All the ''how to guide '' I have seen it for build 1.34 and higher it is the same for the build 1.31?
Thankx in advance!!
Use the guide for rooting 1.34, it should work fine.

Hi here again!!
You should explain your roggers -> Bell simlock problem too.
Maybe you could have some help here too!!!
Does direct flash of a shipped ROM (.exe) could work?
Witch one to choose in this case?
Can't tell if you're asking a question or not.
If a simlock is active, rooting the phone will remove the simlock.
RUU's are only for the DZ, not the G2 (unless you count the very latest G2 update, 2.16.531.6)
Flashing a RUU (the .exe) will flash whatever stock rom is contained in it onto your device, if the version numbers and model id's and cid's all match (if you're S-ON)
if you're S-OFF, any RUU should run on your device, but will remove any custom recovery and eng hboot.
-Nipqer
Initially, my problem comes from the fact that I can't connect to the Bell network, with my phone to buy used, the guy who sale me told that is enlocked, he served under Rodgers before, however I have no message saying that my SIM is invalid when I insert my SIM or another of Telus. I have an X on the antenna, and only wifi works, I have manually configured the APN, replace the SIM, and spend hours to peel forum, Keno40 suggest me to Root, do my question we not sure that was the 1.34 work for1.31 build... excuse me if my text is a little low end, English is not my first language… If you have other idea to resolve my issue it will be great!

hello, please try to downgrade your rom.
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD are some good hints to downgrade the phone. after doing this you may like to root your phone. after rooting/ recovery install you may like to install a cusrom.
i followed these instructions to unlock my german dz.

Hey XDA Members
I wiped my OS on my HTC One X (Stupid, I know) & I've tried everything I can to fix it!
Im now going to try the RUU route but I can't find one to match my device specifications anywhere...
Endeavoru
Radio - 5.1204.167.31
HBOOT - 1.72
CID - HTC_001
My network provider is vodafone
I found a previous thread & a member said there was no RUU for this handset so I was wondering if he/she was wrong? If not, is it not possible to use a different RUU and upgrade it once I get my phone functioning again?
I downloaded an RUU earlier which seemed to match my CID but there was no setup.exe inside the zip folder so there was no way of running it! As my device can only boot to recovery mode & my PC doesn't recognise it.
For now I guess I will have to face another day with a broken phone :crying:
I experienced exactly the same problem only with a different CID. Flash the firmware of an RUU which is different from your will never work. The only chance you have is to restore it from a backup. This way the phone will work although it will refuse to apply further OTA updates.
I managed to regain control of the phone by restoring a clockworkmod backup.
As a prerequisite you have to have a clockworkmod version that allows you to see the sdcard from your computer when in recovery.
Pick a backup from the following repository:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Choose the closest to your version, I found that wifi does not work with Asian firmwares.
Copy the backup on your sdcard from your PC and restore.
Alternatively get a stock ROM that can be flashed with clockworkmod here:

I hope this helps.
Hi guys, I am writing this from Bogota Colombia, My problem as mentioned before its that I cant update my phone cuus I bought it here in Bogota. I have spoken with customer service for Latam and they told me I have one HTC One M9 from sprint. My phone have the S-OFF and its locked. They tell me that I have to restore the security back ON and then I may download a RUU from sprint to be able to update it. But that its something I dont really want to do, as I dont want to set the S back ON nor do I want to update from Sprint. Anyone know of an international ruu I can use, or perhaps one for South America?
I read that i have to root my phone to be able to download some RUU that I can use here but to be able to do that I have to unlock the loadboot I have the unlocktoken from HTCDev but before I use it I want to ask you guys for advice as what should I do. I read that its a good idea to back up the EFS file (for obvious reasons) but not sure how to do it.
Here in Bogota I haven`t found anyone able to help me.
Thanks for any help and please dont mind any spell and grama errors.

You can keep S-OFF. There is no need to revert to S-ON since RUUs and OTAs don't check the security status of the phone. Either download the latest 651 RUU from HTC and use the *.exe file or head to the ReadMe thread, extract the *.zip from the *.exe and flash it via the SD card method that is described in that thread.
Be aware that you have no choice when it comes to picking a RUU. Sprint is a CDMA carrier and the CDMA variants of the M9 have a different partition layout than the GSM versions. You can't even flash other CDMA RUUs (e.g. from Verizon) without damaging your phone.

Thanks for the advice, I will download the RUU and see if it works, but one question what should I do to be able to recover my phone in case anything goes wrong? What would you suggest to use for back up my phone? i mean the efs files so I dont lose my IMEI and other data? thanks
You don't need to unlock your bootloader or root your phone for being able to flash a RUU. And to be honest, I never had to backup any efs files. That might be necessary for other Android devices but not for HTC ones.
Edit: Oh, and be aware that a RUU will erase all personal data on your phone. So backup important messages, contacts, pictures, etc...

Just to let you know that it worked pretty well, I have now one update HTC One M9 thanks to you! .
Hi gang,
I have a Sprint HTC 10 that I completely S-Offed, Unlocked, and formatted with nothing left except the recovery. I have TWRP 3.1.0-0-pme installed for recovery. I had changed the CID to SuperCID 11111111 and now I'm trying to install a stock T-Mobile RUU so I can get the T-mobile radio with the latest T-Mobile build.. it seems like it won't work though. When I run the T-Mobile RUU while the phone is in download mode, it starts work but then it says that I need to download and use the correct recovery tool.. I'm assuming that this is talking about a Sprint RUU. Am I only allowed to stick with custom roms on this but use the default Sprint radio that's already on the phone? Does it matter for VoLTE and WiFi-Calling on T-mobile? Will it deter my speed? Here's some screenshots of the information I have for the phone.
Basically, I just want to be able to use the phone with T-Mobile. I figured S-Off would allow me to adjust the radio for that of T-Mobile.
btw, I had that decryption issue that popped up and I completely wiped all of the system data since I couldn't find "user data" like some posts had said.. I'm not worried though, I made a complete backup using TWRP before I wiped and used the special SuperSU tailored for this phone. I also sunshine S-Offed while the Bootloader was unlocked.. could that have been my issue? It stated that I would've had to format the "user data" folder, but I didn't think much of it because I was going to install stock T-Mobile on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Johnnie

I'm not 100% sure but when it says stock recovery tool, I think it means that you need to use the stock recovery

Your gonna have to change the mid to T-Mobiles mid. Not sure if the phone will actually work like T-Mobile seeing how sprint is CDMA and not GSM. Why don't u just try putting the Tmobile sim in and switch setting to global mode? See what works as u may brick your device by trying to convert it to a T-Mobile device. Honestly you should read through some threads and see if someone has all ready accomplished this.

Follow this guide,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-10/how-to/tut-debrand-sprint-htc-10-flash-ruu-t3501250
It's not as straightforward as simply flashing the tmobile ruu.
Thanks Tarima. I'm going to follow this today and will report back. Well at least I got half way there. This is the price you pay when you simply don't wanna pay. Amiright? But seriously thank you. I missed that thread

No worries, ya the Sprint variant is a pain in the ass to mess around with.
I'd also like to thank twinnfamous for his or her reply as well. I knew that the MID would probably have something to do with it at some point. The first thing i need to do is i guess put an accepting ROM on the phone first before I can do it. I think I'll take my chances on trying to go straight T-mo even for a CDMA device. I'll definitely post some updates on my progress after i check out Tarima's privided thread. No guts no glory.
I am using a sprint 10 on T-Mobile. You can use the T-Mobile RUU or the US unlocked RUU. The US unlocked seems to get the most updates.
But, before you do this you need to unlock the sim port in nvram and backup the radio,modemst1, and modemst2 partitions. Again this must be done while sprint software installed.
After flashing desired RUU flash back the 3 backed up partitions above.
You will not get volte nor Wi-Fi calling on this configuration. Maybe after the merger?
If you make the mid and cid match a real device and keep a stock recovery you can take OTA updates. If you lose service after reflash the sprint radio again and you are back in business.

Hi Bootlooper.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to look through this guide that Tarima sent me in order to back up those partitions you were mentioning. Today I just unlocked the sim.. this is the log I got, sound about right?
Log message: > SPC is correct. Phone unlocked
Reading NV-items, in range of: 30159 (0x75CF) - 30159 (0x75CF)
Done.
Writing NV-items from a file:
Done.
I'm assuming I have to change the MID in order to flash the T-mobile RUU because currently I'm unable to do that. Unable to flash any RUU for that matter, but I haven't tried the Sprint one yet.. not necessary for me at the moment.
Wow. This is legit process.
Does Nandroid Backup *root* allow me to backup hidden partitions for the modem? I'm starting to see how this works.. I was searching the forums for a list of the MID for each carrier. I guess the US Unlocked MID is 2PS62500. The sprint MID is 2PS640000. Anyone know what the T-Mobile MID is?
It might be a good idea to stick with just the US developer RUU instead of T-Mobile's RUU.
Has anyone actually tried to flash the HTC 10 modem at all? Or does anyone happen to have an HTC 10 T-Mobile Modem firmware/ baseband img? I'm willing to try and flash once I figure out how to backup the modem partitions.
Best,
Johnnie
T-Mobile cid T-MOB010 mid 2PS650000
Us unlocked cid BS_US001 mid 2PS650000
I have been searching for how to back up radios and have come up empty. Will try to figure after I get home. If you flash one of the RUU ps6img to SD card. it won't overwrite the radios and cause you to lose simunlock. Look in the stock forum for this. You can update firmware using any file that doesn't include a radio.

0P6B70000 is the Sprint version M8.
First of all, the Sprint version M8 is peculiar, as you can only use firmware and RUU intended specifically for Sprint M8. Do not try to flash any other M8 version RUU or firmware (aside from Sprint) while s-off as this is dangerous, and can lead to a permanent radio brick!!!
You can find Sprint RUUs on the following webpage: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
However, I'm not convinced you necessarily need to flash RUU to solve your issue. Keep reading:
Another peculiarity of the Sprint M8, it uses different kernel from most other M8 versions. So you need to either user ROMs that specifically support the Sprint M8. Or else you need to replace the kernel with a Sprint-compatible kernel. If you don't know what that means, keep it simple and stick to what I said before - ROMs that specifically support Sprint M8 (and that is probably your best bet). That means ROMs from rither from the Sprint M8 Development forum section, or there are some ROMs in the "general" M8 section which support multiple versions, but you must confirm that Sprint is specifically supported (for the desire ROM). Either read the top posts of the desired ROM thread to see if it's mentioned, or do a search in the thread for "Sprint". Android Revolution, for example, does not support Sprint version M8. So not boot is expected.
It's not clear whether you need to actually flash RUU or not. It could be, you just need to flash a Sprint-compatible custom ROM. It's possible your firmware is outdated, in which case RUU or firmware is suggested to get your firmware up to date. But it's not clear whether you need to do that or not, based on the info you've provided. If you want further help on this, do fastboot getvar all, and post the result (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
