Ive done alot of searching but i cant seem to find a step by step on how to fix the keyboard missing keys thing if your on eb13 with syndicate 1.0.2 rom. Can someone help me out with what exactly i need to do without upgrading to ec05? thanks!
anyone help me out? <3

Check out this thread, as it has a link to a couple keyboard timer fixes. In your case I'd say you're better off updating your phone to EC05 and running SRF 1.2 (already has a keyboard patch built in)

that looks like its for ec05 only.... i have no interest in updating to ec05. why? because one of my epics is on boost and the other on sprint. i dont know if updating will screw up the boost one.

Modem has no effect on this, or much of anything in particular. The flash-ables created by TheImpaler based on mkasicks findings will simply create an init script. The value in question is a value from 1-9 in terms of speed. Generally set at 9, a speed of 5 or even 1 are preferred. The value, however, exists inside the kernel and must be reset upon each reboot by an init script such as those. Also, Genocide 1.1 has incorporated the patch into the kernel with directions on how to manually set it.

i still have no idea how to apply this for the rom and kernel i am currently using....
anyone else know what i can do?
This seems to be kernel specific not OS. So if the kernel supports the update it will work. See this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025533. Easy test is running su echo 5 > /sys/devices/platform/s3c-keypad/timer_delay from terminal. If you get a directory not found the kernel does not support the patch.
yeah ive done this already. the kernal does not support it. But are there any kernals for eb13 that do?
i fixed it. thanks for the help.

Hi Folks, downloaded from samfirmware.com (http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm)
All thanks to samfirmware.com (hope they fix the links to correctly point to samfirmware.com rather than samfirmware-web.com).
Trying to flash. I would really appreciate if someone could share the kernel as when I tried to create a .tar file, didn't work for me.
If someone could help in creating the tar for the kernel, I can share the same.
In the meantime trying jpc kernel after root on this rom.
Thanks for keeping forum.xda-developers.com rocking.
Quadrant 1004 on stock. Looks smooth and much faster than JPC. Installing lagfix 2.3.3 update.zip
To Summarize:
I find this to be one of the best Froyo builds. Fixes some of the problems I had on JPC.
Exchange email integration seems buggy
GPS still needs to be tested
Build is from 08.2010
Root: http://hotfile.com/dl/68975058/295f167/I9000ZSJP3_Root.zip.html
Not significantly different from JPC and ZSJP2. So if you are happy with JPC, you are not really missing anything significant.
I am back to JPC as JP3 seems to be having a strange issue of increasing CPU utilization in idle! Also, the build date seems to be older than JPC.
you need to use GNU tar (or just make it from linux) doesntwork with eg 7zip
in case u can't make it easily here it is (i already removedthisjp3 tho it doesnt work very goodfor me)
http://www.multiupload.com/NPWZNFE6KX
ps:use the i9000 kernel + update.zip froyo root with this!

WOW, thanks for the quick reply! What were the issues? How did you find it as compared to JPC?
EDIT: Your kernel doesn't work for me. Crashes at the first boot screen (tried after removing USB), however JPC kernel seems to work after root
it doesnt have all the new jpc stuff for starters, it's the old buttons and so on (i suppose its like the HKJP2 but i didnt look much more deeply)
then it started to freeze around a bit (prolly not more than jpc but still it annoys me) - ofc that's with lagfix on both.then titaniumbackup failed to restore many apps which worked for restore on jpc and hkjp2 so i gave up lol
so while i was at it i just went back to 2.1
is this full froyo or just partial like the last releases!?!?!?!
similar to previous releases at least
just look at build dates anyway. all that stuff is from august..
there'sJI2 or something like that from september for vibrant which seems really nice. 2.1 but has all the new froyo stuff from samsung (just no new JIT etc)

Please define "partial release". I see all the ROMs to be "full" like the official ones (these are alpha or beta versions at max, but have become much stable then the July Froyo builds).
"my" kernel is just SZJP3 ;p
u can untar it from their archive and tar it back it's what i did. just use GNU tar or odin will fail.

english, korean, chinese
Noticed ZSJP3 in samfirmware that is using PIT 512 instead of 803, as ZSJP2, JPC all using 803.
Wonder any error on it.
Anyone has direct link from Samsung FUS server..as the download speed from there is much faster(> 1.5MBytes per sec).. of course ..providing the encryption key will be +++.
Hows the battery performance?

Downloading now-very slowly
I Flashed ZSJP3 - but My Exchange reply is not working. if i reply to the email message the receiver will not get my reply. Just receive blank email.
is there any work around solution for this problem? same exist on JPC and ZSJP2
still the same issue (like ZSJP2), once exchange sync start, the phone halted.

Hi,
I'm now trying to use Android on HTC fulltime (way too many crashes in WM6.5+HTC Sense, phone becomes unusable) but I'm having some trouble with the microphone when someone calls.
I've read the problem is solved in the latest build of Froyo, but that is the one I have installed.
Is there a difference between the "Reference version" and the "BLAZN version" found on this page: http---sites.google.com-site-androidport-downloads ?
I have installed the "BLAZN version" of Froyo 2.2, which has a different update date.
Can someone recommend installing the "Froyo Reference version" to solve the microphone issue?
You can try updating to the newest kernel to try & fix the mic issue.
I thought this was resolved for everyone, but evidently not. Can you try the newest kernel and post back your results?

I don't follow... :$
What do you mean with "try the newest kernel"?
I have copied the contents of the Froyo BLAZN 2.2 - cab to my phone SDcard and installed the cab. Previously I have updated the phone with all the patches and fixes HTC made available for download.
Did I miss a step in the installation process?
Some more information that might be useful:
Belgian bought HTC Touch Pro 2 (no sim-lock, no fixed telecom provider),
now running the AndroidonHTC Rhodium - Rhod100_UK (to have the correct keyboard mapping) installation with maximum overclocking and HW3D unchecked (read the updates list today and should have checked it, I know )
Thanks for your quick reply btw
ps: I didn't find anyone else with this problem, so it is probably resolved,
I think it's a small missing update in the Froyo BLAZN pack, but wanted to verify before having to reinstall the whole thing again (takes quite some time for sth stupid like importing my contact list from my SIM, linking FB contacts,... not sth I like to do on a daily basis )
Uhm... update using the kernel autobuild service?
The issue is certainly kernel related, and I know the 'newest' blazn uses a kernel that's quite old (nearly a month!)
The new reference build is quite new, but still is behind several kernel commits.
There's a new kernel out all the time - I've said it before, sometimes there's several daily patches to the kernel, sometimes there's a week between commits. Just depends on what's going on in the developer world.

Found this using google and does seem like a kernel update could do the trick, but I still don't get where I could do a "kernel update" or the "kernel autobuild service".
I have never used such function, so I'm sorry for the newb-question...
Could you hand me some more keywords/hints to find the most recent kernel build for my phone?
Is this kernel you're talking about some kind of update for the radio? As far as I get it now, it is some sort of unofficial update/patch provided by (open-source) developers?

Correct key mapping is a setting in your startup.txt/default.txt file OR when you use the XDAndroid Starter application in WM, you just have to select "Rhod100_uk" (in my case, I don't know your keyboard layout?)
The latter is the easiest solution btw.
Kernel Autobuild
RootFS autobuild
Initramfs autobuild
Alright,
thank you for your help, the problem is solved!
Solving process:
1) Android Startup app didn't want to update
2) Downloaded the newest Android Startup app (version 1.3)
3) Hit "update"
4) Found new Kernel > installed
5) Working microphone with incoming calls...

For the keymapping thing, if you look in the startup.txt file on the sim card, look for: "physkeyboard=Tilt2" (minus quotes). Change "Tilt2" to "tilt2". I've found that by changing the capital T to a lowercase t, it fixes the key mapping issue. It's worth a shot.
Solving the microphone problem has triggered another one...
I had Launcher Pro Plus installed and could use the "Home key" to show an overview of my different homescreens...
Now the Home key doesn't work anymore...
Most recent builds etc are installed now, so I have no idea what to do to solve this issue.

Quite a relief it's just a minor bug,
I can live with the workaround you suggested,
instead of "Home" for the End Call button, I choose "Home, Then Sleep"

Hey guys, I have the same problem with the mics. I am running the newest kernels on Rhodium 400. I updated everything with the startup utility. It only is a problem when someone calls me, I can't hear them but they can hear me. If I disconnect and then call them, it works fine. Just recently, I had the problem of my mic not working in a call.
I have just been keeping my head down because I really appreciate what the developers are doing, but I figured if I don't say anything, they won't know there are still problems. Thanks again for everything you guys are doing!!
OK can we all ignore the update utility for the time being, go and grab the newest kernels and let us know if it's solved? Supposedly the newest kernels solve this issue, but I personally never experienced it on my RHOD, so I'm not a good test...

sorry....but i still can not understand what i have to download can you please more specific?
This is very simple the ROM is intended to serve as a ROM for people who are like me who likes the stock ROM but with a little customization, and enjoys the ICS OS without some of the customizations found in the AOSP choices that we have so far. The goal for this is simple, stock, and bugless as a ROM can be and there is no donate button in the ROM. It uses mods and battery saving techniques that I found to work for me, but like I said since this is more of a modded stock ROM I'll keep this intro brief.
Features:
De-odexed
Build.prop tweaks for performance and to perserve battery life
Dalvik Cache moved to cache
Super User (root) and Busy Box
Native Tethering
I also have customized some settings for better user experience (well at least for me). I am keeping this simple so I'll tell you now I like how the stock ROM works so I have not added any of the CM Mods or Kang Mods and probably won't as of now. Also I am not gonna post any screen shots since this is a re-vamp of what you got out of the box and there is no visual customizations added since all of my tweaks are to the apps and settings. ....... anyway take a chance try this out let me know what ya think ...........
Download for today
http://www.mediafire.com/?ws5d7hbdpkjvk3d
or
http://www.4shared.com/zip/DIdXuE7p/Icee_Modz_1_0_6_051312.html
As always make sure you know how to flash a ROM before using this or you may encounter problems or even brick your device please follow these instructions:
1: Factory reset data and system wipe
2: Wipe cache
3: Install ROM .zip file
4: Reboot
To ensure that you get the best out of my preset customizations don't sign into google services when you setup the ROM you can always do this later, try the rom out as is to put it to the test before you add your customizations and settings to it.
ENJOY
JD
NOTE: The Google Apps provided in this ROM is to be only used with the Sprint branded variant of the Galaxy Nexus and not to be redistributed to any other device not licensed to Sprint or not a Sprint variant Galaxy Nexus, the Google Apps are the property of GOOGLE and should be respected as such and if need be I will demolish all links to Google property should I be asked to.
Change Log
050412:
Initial release for Jakd-Modz 3
rom 3.0.8
Changed the name to Icee_Modz
ROM allows native tethering (at least thru USB thats all I tested)
Updated:
Maps
GoogleEarth
Street
GooglePlus
GoogleVoice
wallet
Lock Screen rotation is enabled
I'll try it when I get home.

Thanks for sharing your work. Just to clarify, this is based on the Sprint's as-shipped GN ROM, with the customizations listed above, and Google Apps removed (which can be installed via the separate package you provided).
Is there anything else I'm missing?
What is the MMS issue?
Lastly, what are your customizations?
Cheers.

yep based off sprint shipped and all of googles apps removed and every thing I've done to it is not anything that you will see like a theme or extra options for whatever its all under-the-hood type tweaks, and the mms thing is a fluke on my part because I removed the package that updates your profile to sprint to allow you to send mms.

No I'm in the process of rebuilding from scratch and haven't fix that yet. so I'd wait to try this out
Ok did a complete rebuild, the ROM is just like what you get out the box now (I actually like the stock ROM) everything is there just like what you get out of the box I have just did a lot of "under-the-hood" engine tuning, mms works and so does the compass .
Awesome! I am checking this out now but like it simple.
I've tried various kernels on the stock ROM of my HTC Wildfire S and something i noticed was that the some kernels make it so the GPS has trouble locking. Is there any kernels that are around that are stable, fast and doesn't affect the GPS???
I've tried the stock kernel (which works, but the only way for this to work properly is to set the CPU at 480MHz-600MHz at ondemand governor and deadline I/O Scheduler, which eats the battery)
I've also tried
The Dust 9 kernel... which is good but the GPS didnt seem to lock... i'll retest this soon to make sure
The cake-gb-3.0-v1.4-htc-lycan kernel... which is pretty much the same as Dust
The DCPLX 1.2 kernel... which the GPS works fine, but the phone restarts itself sometimes, bricks it self voluntarily on the rare occasion, sometimes the screen doesnt turn on when the power button is pressed)
Never Mind
Actually never mind this post... Cake Kernel works fine... Now I'm trying to figure out how to delete this thread:laugh:

Hola,
I don't think you can delete the kernel. All you can do is update to a new kernel or a stock one. Hit thanks if Helped.:good:
Hi Guys, I thought I would make a thread here as i can not seem to be able to find a solution. Rooted my device obviously, everything is fine until I installed a "Kernel" (cant remember author) to overclock mainly then encountered several problems. 1: Wi-Fi has become unstable. It seems to either crash my phone or signal disappears after my phone is on standby for a period of time (variable). 2: My Bluetooth just does not work. At all!! I have not done anything more to my device so the solution (hopefully). I forgot to mention that it is STOCK ROM. I do not wish to wipe my phone clean, i want to find a fix. Possibly a more stable kernel. Overclocking does not want to happen either but the "Governor's, I/O Scheduler's and Underclocking" do work. If there is anything more you guys need to know please ask!!
Looking forward to ideas

It not the root that causing the issue, it the kernel that tried. If I remember correctly there's only two kernel for the S4 mini that allows overclcoking, and one of them has stopped developerment since last year. That leaves the F4k kernel.
He has two different kernels: one for the AOSP/CM (custom) ROM another is also a bit outdated for the default Samsung TouchWiz ROM. Are you sure you've download the correct kernel?

So I've come to a conclusion after many weeks of testing and searching........ Unfortunately the overclock kernel for "TouchWiz" roms is unstable........ looking through forums I can see that F4k has only realised a "test" version....... on the other hand I have found a kernel from Vikinger (if spelt correctly) that's has fixed my issue and is working great... shame it isn't overclocked nor under and has no additional governors..... any one with ideas please feel free to share..... many thanks.
