Hey guys.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to switch off the "flip-to-mute-call" feature? I suspect this feature to be the reason why my dialer drains my battery after making a call!
Maybe there is a config file where i can disable this feature? Couldn't find it in the settings...
Thx

Thx for your answer! When i open up settings/sound and look under receive call there is only the option to disable "Turn to Speaker" (dunno whether its like that in English, my phone lang is set to German) . I have already disabled that feature!

You can, from Settings / Sound Settings. Original ROM Sense UI.

No i can't there a few things there which i can disable but not the flip to mute call feature

No, flip to mute feature cannot be disabled; you have to choose one of two options. This has been causing me to miss important calls even when the phone is not "flipped" by me and it's exasperating - to say the least. How stupid of them to assume everybody would want this?

I have been using a couple of roms where it appears that holding the back button will kill an app. How would I go about setting this up myself if I have a rom without this feature.

if developers can do this, it must be possible ... and I think the sense of the question was to know how to do (and to develop) this (an app/ workaround) separately (without a ROM) ... I would be glad to know this, too ...
When using certain music apps (poweramp, stock sound player..) the vibration on the phone freaks out and just buzzes and pulses. I can't figure out what is causing it.
Please tell us some more information about the phone so we can help you.
For example, what ROM or Samsung touchwiz software are you on? Are you rooted?

I would try uninstalling all those music apps and then do some detective work and install each app one by one to see which app it is. Report back what you find out.

A shot in the dark here,,,,but go to /settings/sound/
Scroll to the bottom and disable "Auto Haptic" if it is enabled.

He shoots, he scores! So far that seems to have done the trick.

Right on right on.
Also.... it's not so obvious...but long pressing on that menu item/switch brings up a blacklist/whitelist to choose which apps will be affected by auto-haptic though I don't use it myself.
Any way to disable this?
Go through the Settings, there's a tick box to disable this, even in the Stock LG ROM.
Which settings exactly? I didn't found anything in the sound setting...

What?
I'm no longer on stock, going from memory, but I remember that setting as it's one of the first things I turn off on every rom and version of android I've used.
Sent through the magic of an LG Optimus G (E971) running RootBox 4.2.2.
Only thing, well, it's not there! I've gone trough all the settings and there's no such thing in the canadian's LGOG.
No one?
On the build.prop maybe?
I also have this problem. and it does not like me very much. I do not have options. f180l
I used automateit..its free
Simply create a rule the increases headset volume to 100 % when headset plugged in

Here's my situation:
When I plug it in my car, I want the volume to be set to full. I've aranged that with an NFC and it "works".
But, when I use headphone, I don't want it to be set to full, or half, or whatever. I want it to stay the way it was. that's why I want to know if there's a place I can disable this option.
I'm rooted already, there must be a settings of a file somewhere I can edit for this :|
Please people. Did someone managed to solve this one? It is really pain in the neck.
If anyone is still interested I found a way to disable this.
You have to edit the build.prop file its path is /system/build.prop
Find the line which says
Code:
ro.lge.automaticvolumecontrol=true
and change it to
Code:
ro.lge.automaticvolumecontrol=false
.
Then reboot your phone.
Although the sound will stop turning down you will still get the notification
Does anyone know of an app that will say the time out loud when you press the power button to turn wake the device???
e.g. so when your in the lockscreen mode.
You could probably get tasker to do it. Good luck though.

I'm sure you can do this with driving mode on (which I previously had set up on 4.1) however I checked again and I can't find the option to read out the time.
Hey, guys
Thanks for your idea, I will try to implement it in my named Cover Algorithm.

Thanks for the replies...
Still no luck though..
I've had a look at Tasker but unless people could be kind and guide me through how to achieve this, i am fairly certain it won't allow me to..
I have however found an app that speaks out loud the time pretty quickly and clearly (Say Time), but automating it to say it when i wake my device (if on loud) is proving more difficult than first anticipated :crying:
Don't worry mate.
I will surely add it in my app in upcoming days.

Hi,
Thanks... I did see your comment "I will try to implement it in my named Cover Algorithm" but i had no idea what you meant..
What app is this???
Please ignore my previous comment.... I have just checked out your apps on the playstore... makes sense now..haha
When do you think you could implement this idea?
Also, would it be possible for this to say the time out loud ONLY IF device is NOT on silent?
Thank you

Thanks for trying out my app.
It will just some time to implement because I am currently working on help & paid version of Cover Algorithm.
Yep, it will be possible to say time when device awakes only if device not in Silent.
Please consider rating the app if you like

Donnow this guy looks weird
Maybe he is talking about the menu in settings/Developer Options. (Clicking in Build number that enable the Developer option in HOX.
Then he should have made himself more clear. I know he knows English pretty well (helped him before) so this sounds very silly

I dont think it is about the menu, if Developer Options are enabled the menu shouldn't be hidden
Ah well maybe he is back online to Shine a light on this matter one of these days
Doesn't look we will find out what he really ment. Tho if he was trying to hide the developer options in settings he could do it by deleting /data/data/com.android.settings/shared_prefs/development.xml
Obviously needs root. After reboot the developer options will be again hidden.

Edit: also clearing the data of the settings app will do the trick.
