Hey Guys, I am new to this site and i was recommended by a friend. So anyway i got my first smartphone, the droid charge, and its a cool phone and all but i really want to know how to root it and i get the gummy charged or whatever its called?
So i am not tech-savy at all and this site almost seems latin to me, i tried looking thru the forums for rooting the charge but i just get all confused
So can someone give me an easy step by step direction to help me Root the Charge and get Gummy Charged installed. And any other cool apps and or things i should do to my phone.
Thanks Guys!

I know I'm gonna get sh*t for asking this. I've already been thru all the rooting threads but they are all confusing me. I'm new to the phone and love it, I'm a big texter and it runs my battery down pretty quick I have to take my charger to work with me or it wouldn't last me. I'm with AT&T and came over from Tmobile and had the G2x which I had rooted. All the Threads here for rooting confuses me. Could someone explain it alittle different please for AT&T I don't want to brick my phone. Rooting my G2x was real easy this seem alot harder

The method to root the phone will get easier as more people work on it(Once CWM works, etc) so just wait until then if you can't follow the current instructions.
For the Glide right now the only method of rooting is flashing a rooted ROM. There is no 'one click' root method where your current stuff is preserved like other phones may have. I'm waiting for such a root method, no rush since my wife uses the Glide and is happy with everything stock.

I kinda felt the same way coming from HTC phones. The threads here can keep me reading for hours, i rooted Vibrant and a Captivate and i was lost the entire way.
once the rooted AT&T ROM was posted, it took just a matter of minutes, and most of that was just downloading the files needed.
Follow the instructions posted or watch the video on how to do it, and once your done, you'll love it. Then, if you like, go to the app store and download "superuser" and "titanium backup" (free versions will work for now, but paying for them is really the way to go)
And before you know it, custom ROMs will here, and then the real fun starts!
Hello everyone, I have recently dropped my phone and the screen is pretty messed up, so I went by Verizon and long story short, I will be getting a new Note II tomorrow. My current one (SCH-1605) is rooted, I am unsure if they will charge me or not because it's rooted (read some horror stories). I've done some googling and it seems like the only method I have found involves mobile oden + triangle away. Isn't there a way that involves the computer, so I don't have to buy 2 apps to unroot my device?
I have also run into some problems with getting a hold of my stock rom at stockroms.net and I come across two different roms (http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyNote2/SCH-I605/official) I have no idea which one I want. I do not stay in-tune with the rooting scene but I do know I love my phone rooted and I want to thank you all for making it possible to begin with and to help out nobodies with problems you guys probably answer everyday!
Hi guys, before anything I want to apologize for these questions.
Im coming from Samsung S5, S4, S3.... so everything from LG is new for me!
I searched a lot to get theses answers but the infos that I have found didnt answered my questions...
Here you go, please help me! :fingers-crossed:
1- What is the best root method, and what is the difference from them?
2- Is TWRP Thetered the ONLY custom recovery?
3- I have brazilian 855P model, can I flash european firmware?
I really liked this phone. This is screen is very beautiful.
But even installing just Facebook and Whatsapp, Im getting high battery usage.
I can spend all day without using it, but it looks like it simply cant go to deep sleep!!!
Tried to factory reset and nothing.... Using its original recharger from wall socket,
just navigating through facebook, it just wont charge... just maintain its percentage and
each 5 minutes it drops 1%!!!!
I wanted to sell my S5... but now I dont know... didnt want to sell my brand new G3....
Im trying to update firmware to have a better battery life...
Im on the ´A´ version and can see in europe people are getting ´H` and ´J´...:crying:
Please help me!
This is my first post here on xda but I've been reading around for quite a while and there are a lot of wonderful and helpful people here so hello and thank you all
1. I admit I haven't put much effort into really finding an answer to this one but so far I've only found vague and mixed answers.. When I receive the phone is it important to leave it off and charge it overnight or does that not matter? Can I just unbox the phone, power it on and charge it to 100% when it gets low?
2. I've ordered an Oppo Find 7 and it will be delivered tomorrow, my neighbor/friend has a Find 7a and I've had plenty of playtime with it to know that I don't like ColorOS. I'm too scared of messing up to manually root the phone and flash a new rom or whatever I've read 2 guides and it's still really confusing to me so I've been looking at the Cyanogenmod auto installer thingy and wanted to hear some opinions about it, is it reliable? Is CM even a good rom? And if anybody wants to / has the time to add me on some mobile messaging app or website or program whichever you prefer and try to explain the process of installing a custom rom and maybe even recommending one since I don't know which ones are good that would be awesome

Welcome to XDA and most importantly, welcome to the Find 7 family!!! By the way, OPPO has its own forum for Find 7 and there are even more people to help you in there
For your first question, I don't think you need to charge it overnight. But this is more or less a personal preference. However, the VOOC charging does take the most advantage when your battery is low (like below 10% or so).
And for your second question, you should be all set by following the tutorial. CM11 is just one of the available custom ROM for Find 7, there are a lot of different options too. By the way, the rooting method for ColorOS is different compare to custom ROM, although they all just need to flash a zip file in Recovery, and some ROM have root installed by default, and CM11 is one of them. For the Recovery options, there are different recovery available too, but you should be able to just flash it via fastboot (though, there are different way to flash recovery, but I personally only use fastboot ).
You can private message me if you want some help, but I'm sure that there are a lot of people here with way better knowledge than me
Just to be clear, you ordered Find 7a or Find 7 (QHD one)?

Thank you for the info I'll post on Oppo forums too
I ordered the Find 7 QHD
You don't need to leave it off to charge it.
I usually leave mine unplugged overnight and VOOC it up to 100% in the morning
Look, I know I tried and failed miserably to get something going for the previous first generation Revvl, and I probably let a whole lot of people down... but after my recent successes with the Orbic Wonder and Vortex Synq, I couldn't help but try and take this on because it's too tempting
Like before, I don't have this phone myself (I'm on Verizon now), but if anyone has one and wants to see if we can get something going let me know and we can work together. Even if we can only get root access and maybe a custom recovery, that would still be better than nothing. Since my last attempt at the Revvl line I've learned a few new things and have a couple more tricks up my sleeve. I can't guarantee anything obviously, but if anyone wants to give it a shot we can certainly do so. I'm personally down for Round 2 at this point if any of you out there are
I found a couple at a local pawn shop for cheap. If you think you can get Majisk on them, I'll pick one up!

Depends how cheap, because there's no guarantee I'll be able to get Magisk on them. Not sure how the odds will be. If you're talking like $20 cheap then yeah go for it, even if it fails you can have a backup device to screw around with. Any significant amount of money, don't risk it.
Help
Anyone knows how to solve this
Is this dead?
I realize it's been a hot minute since this thread was active, but I have this device and if there was a way I could get it rooted it would be greatly appreciated
