[Solved] Screen keeps flickering in CM7 - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I just flashed CM7 ROM.
I noticed that the screen is flickering.
When i charge the battery the screen is flickering but in a lower pace.
When I flash to Android revolution ROM the problem stops.
Can you please help me ? is it a battery issue ?
Thanks in advance
Jam

Did you fully wipe before installing cm7?
Sent from my Motorola Startac running Atari 2600 software!

Yes sir. i did a full wipe

Hmmmm. Got me then. All I can suggest is to reinstall or try a cm7 nightly. Good luck.

[Q] Unblock Me FREE issue on Sense based Custom ROMs

Hello guys i've got some strage force close in the game "Unblock Me FREE" with Sense based Custom ROMs like LeeDrOiD or Android Revolution HD, on the Stock HTC 1.32 ROM and CyanogenMod 7 it works well.
Someone else got this issue?
Yes i did a full wipe, and yes i've downloaded the ROMs twice and checked the md5sum's and yes i used the correct radio.
Thank you
Hi,
I was having the same problems! I even had problems with it on CM7, before I wiped the dalvik cache.
Mate of mine running the same custom sense ROM had no problems with Unblock Me Free, so I really don't know what the cause is.
Have you tried wiping the dalvik cache?
Yes i tried but still force close.
It has got to be something wrong with Unblock me FREE - perhaps we should email the developer, and with any luck they will look at it for us
Hm. I'm not sure, because I tried it now the third time and with the stock rom it works fine.
And with the new GingerBread leak it worked too.
I'm confused but I will write an email.
Yeah I'm not too sure either... it's a bizarre issue that's for sure.
Good luck! I'm running cm7 now

it is very hard can not unblocked!
Having the same problem, anyone come up with a solution yet?
Running LeeDroid 2.2.2
Thanks
Ali
Unfortunately the only solution I've found is to flash a different ROM, like CM7 nightly or a stock ROM.
You could try the gingerbread leedroid ROM maybe, I haven't tried it with Unblock me free yet.

Random bootloop

Hi !
My father have a problem with his htc desire (slcd), during september to some weeks ago, his phone was rooted and run on different rom.
But a few weeks ago, the phone start to bootloop.
- we flash another rom, it's OK for 1~2h (some times 2-3days.. it's random)
without sim card, there is no problem... when there is a sim card, the phone reboot when the sign 3g (or edge) appears...
- we flash an official ruu, no problem.. but it's not cool ^^
If you have an idea...
thanks
Does it happen with a stock rom? It could be coincidental that it started happening after root. A batch of these went out with bad motherboards. In that case you need to send it back for repair under warranty. If it doesn't happen with stock rom try wiping and re-installing your custom rom.

Agreed.
If it happens with the stock ROM (from the RUU), then its a hardware issue. Take it back.
If it happens with a custom ROM only, something is upsetting it (software wise).
Perhaps try updating the android version and Radio to the same version as in the RUU if it's the latter.
Thanks, I will try ...
(But the phone start to bootloop after 6 months of root and customs roms, strange)

[Q] Help!! Incredible wont run ASOP roms properly

So im a long time lurker back all the way to the OG Incredible and never experienced a problem like this before. My problem first started with Cyanogen Nightly 71 I had been using it as my daily for a few days when the lockscreen started to no longer function.
The softkeys light up but the display is off and doesn't come back on. I figured restoring would fix the issue but ended with the same result. I've tried restoring older nighties, factory reset, clearing caches, fixing permissions, and installing other ASOP roms like liquid and the CM7.1 "Stable" but as soon as the phone locks it no longer wakes up. Currently i was able to restore to Newts Incredible HD but i cant live without ASOP if you have any ideas on what has happened or how to fix this please help out and thanks in advance.
I had the same issue and for me I switched to 4ext recovery, converted system to ext4 and aosp has worked since

[Q] Phone won't turn on without removing battery first

I have a used (out of warranty) DINC 2 rooted with Cyanogenmod 7.2 installed (Page Plus). The phone has been working fine for about a month. All of the sudden, the phone will not turn on unless I remove the battery first. If I remove the battery and boot the phone, everything is fine until I turn it off and then it won't come back on. If I do a complete shut-down, then it will turn on. I tried wiping the cache - no help. I tried restoring an old backup that was working at the time - no help. Any ideas? What should I try next to debug this?
Do you have s-off? What version of CM7 are you using (official or custom)? What kernel are you using? Have you tried other ROM's?

Yes, I have S-OFF, it's rooted. Running CM7.2, official, I assume (CyanogenMod-7.2.0-vivow). Kernel version 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g9b2f4dd [email protected]#175. No, I have not tried other ROMs, it was working fine with this one for about 6 weeks and just suddenly this problem started happening.

UPDATE: I think I might have figured it out. I borrowed a battery from another phone and it seems to work fine with a different battery. Anyone have recommendations for a good aftermarket battery (not extended) for the DINC2?
UPDATE 2: The "fix" didn't last. The same problem resumed after an hour or so on the other battery. Still open to suggestions.
When I installed CM10 and was experiencing a bootloop the same thing was happened to me. Could not turn on phone unless I pulled battery first. I have since corrected the bootloop issue and have not experienced it since (same ROM).

I don't have any bootlooping - the phone was working great with CM7.2 until this started happening. Can't figure out what caused it. How well is CM10 running on your DINC2 (like, performance-wise)? (Assuming that's the phone you have.)
Performance is better than Viper and yes I have the Dinc2.
What is the turbo engine? I've never used or heard of it. I did have reboot issues with the early builds of cm10. I just flashed psycho's new 4.2.2 build & it seems to be quicker than evervlov. I need to give a couple days though.

[Q] Problem with camera flash

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Desire HD running ViperDHD 2.3.0 ROM.
When I take a picture using flash with low battery, the phone shutdown and stuck on boot after restarting.
I've tried wiping battery stat, cache and Dalvik cache and none of this fixed the issue but the only way to get phone running is to flash again the rom.
Is there a way to fix this or is a battery problem?
Thank you all!

Sounds like your battery needs replacing, you might want to replace it and see if the problem still occurs

Thanks, I'll try that when i get a new battery!
I had a similar problem on Viper DVD 2.x. If the battery was under let's say 70% when taking photo with flash, the phone turned off. The only way to turn it back on was connecting the charger. I replaced the battery for the new one, original HTC, but situation is the same .

Charge full battery for your phone. Reboot to recovery and try wipe battery stat. If the problem not fix. Change to another rom. .
I cleared battery stats and caches, charged to full but the situation is the same . I will have to live with that

Oke. Read around DHD forum and i think your answer is change another new battery.
I'm considering the same thing . But it's really weird that new, original battery would be faulty
