[App Request] - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

I've just seen the video for the Nokia N9 UI. It would be amazing if somebody could make a launcher that incorporates some of the features such as the swipe to get home and the multi tasking.
Sorry if this thread should be put somewhere else

Exposé-like overview on Rosie 2.1 Homescreen

Hey,
I just found out that you can view all seven homescreens in an exposé-like view if you do that two-finger zoom gesture on the homescreen - very impressive
I don't know if someone posted this before or if it even is already a well-known feature
EDIT: Sorry - this is already mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=594731

Impressive..

ICS vs GB + Touchwiz

Has anyone else noticed that the look and feel of ICS software and some of the app features are pretty much ripped out of touchwiz? Which is a great compliment to Samsung.
For example...
Sideways scrolling app drawer
Panoramic camera
White background with black writing (reversed from the usual android look in apps)
Hardware key combo to take a screen capture
Customizable dock
Folders on home screen
Resizeable widgets
Music controls on lock screen and notification tray
Respond to a caller by text message
Pinch to zoom in calendar and email app
Just saying...
I'm getting mine on Tuesday so im hoping the user experience is a big enough jump from my SGS2...

Actually a lot of the new features in ICS come from Honeycomb or have been parts of custom ROMs or third-party launchers for ages.
Sideways scrolling app drawer was in Honeycomb.
White BG with black writing - actually Android apps have choices of themes, one of them is "light" which is white background with dark text. Nothing new, they're just pushing brighter, more friendly designs with ICS
Customizable dock - that's been in third-party launchers for ages
Home screen folders - Android has had folders in the launcher for ages, just not as easy to set up as they are now (New folder is an option in the "add to home screen" panel)
Resizable widgets - that was in HC as well, and in 3rd party launchers
Music controls in notification tray - that's available in Honeycomb
Moral of the story: Just because a feature is in an OEM skin doesn't mean they were the ones to come up with it

Interesting. But I think you'll find that touchwiz was out on the original galaxy s much before honeycomb.
Think twice before switching from an S2, that's what I have done today and I am not sure I have done the right thing. Particularly down to the poor camera.
Iwould try to get your hands on one first if you can just to play with.

Oh MAN!! I've ordered one which is due to arrive on Tuesday. Maybe I'll have a play with it and flog it on ebay if I don't like it as much...
I also understand that they haven't borrowed one of the best features of Touchwiz - folders in the app drawer...
Borrowed or not, I do not like the look of TouchWiz at all, but I love Android 4.0.
I personally don't own a touchwiz device but it somehow gives me a very iphoneish impression.

And LauncherPro, GO Launcher, and ADW were out *long* before TouchWiz...and had many of these features.

Need help customizing home screen

I just flashed Calkulin's E4GT v2.0. It's incredibly, insanely fast and I love it, but that's besides the point. I like the Touch Wiz launcher, but I don't like that I can't (to my knowledge) change what program each icon loads on the bottom of the screen. But I LOVE the agenda widget, the one with the calendar that has things scheduled for today on the bottom. Then there's Launcher Pro. I love that I can change what the icons open, but then I don't have access to the widget I want (to my knowledge). Does anyone know if it's possible/how to fix either of these problems? I wouldn't mind keeping Touch Wiz and just changing which app it opens, if I had a choice, because the icons are brighter and look better
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: Never mind, found my solution!

But if anyone knows if it's possible to use the calendar widget with launcher pro, i'd love to know how!

[Q] Disable home screen pages?

Hey so I'm trying to work on a theme for android but I can't seem to find the feature I want in any launcher. Basically I would like a large homescreen without the pages. So no snap when scrolling and widgets can be placed wherever. Is there any launcher that supports this? I've looked around google and on the forum but havent found anything relevant. Thanks in advance
