BUT unfortunately, my xperia arc can't detect this connection!!!while i said my laptop can easily detect it and connect to it!
is there any way that arc detect this wireless connection or i HAVE TO buy a wireless modem/rooter? :|

Try "mhotspot" "." "com" (I can't post the link yet) , its a free hotspot converter for your computer.

I have managed to connect my netbook for interent sharing using Bluetooth.
I want to be able to also use the USB connection.
When I try to load internet sharing it says I need to turn bluetooth on to share the internet connection.
I had a choice between USB and bluetooth internet sharing with my xperia. How come not with TP2?
Hi
Is it possible to share my pc internet connection to my desire via cable or bluetooth?
I know it's possible with a app called connectify on my pc, but i don't want to have a visible WiFi connection running.
Any ideas?
As far as I know, no.
Make no sense to hide the SSID. Everybody how can wrote his own nam can find the ssid easyli.
I know, thats why I want to use USB cable or Bluetooth..
Yes you can, go to connectify.me and download the app for pc, you can use your computers internet as a hotspot.
this worked great for me also
Hello!
I have installed RCMix HD rom, with new Sense, and i have option for Internet Pass-Through. I am wondering, if it is possible, to use on phone internet connection from PC via Internet Pass-Through, and in settings turn on Portable WiFi Hotspot, that will let me to connect to internet on another laptop? I tried this, but i doesn't have internet on laptop...
And, is this possible anyway?
The way the internet sharing works with the Desire is that it acts like a modem which then shares the internet with a PC. You can't do it the other way around, sharing internet from your PC to your phone, just phone to PC.
You can use your computers internet via internet pass through, I know because I've tried it, but you can't use the computer internet for hotspot, I tried that too
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
@damo : bro can u tell me how u did it???m using windows 7 but cant seem to get it work on the phone....everything is getting connected but no show on the phone....
is there any particular setting u need to do???
as a thought - what about if you made an adhoc connection from laptop and shared internet with that connection...?
just a thought- completely untested..
just remember when I had a machine set up with a crossover and shared wifi from laptop to PC and wondered if you could do something similar with an adhoc wifi connection...
You can't share the internet connection used from a pass through connection. The reason is that it uses the same framework for both pass through connections and Portable Hotspot. Would be cool if it could be done, but with Windows XP and above you setup an AdHoc Wifi connection which will allow you to connect one device and share and internet connection.
Hi there,
I still new to use arc and android, just would like to check with all experts, I am trying to use the tethering feature and connect my arc with pc companion, but once I enable the tethering feature and the connection between arc and computer is disconnected.
Is it really like this? normal?
use tethering for internet connection since I have no broadband at home. Think of connect both to update software from original SE website....
Kindly advice.
Don't use pc companion, but instead change your device to Mass Storage mode and use the native Android USB Tether. You can find this option in Settings, Wireless networks, Tethering and Portable hotspot, Enable USB Tethering. I've been using it without a hassle since I got my arc.
PS: there's a Q&A section right under this one.
caN I USE arc to access my broadband connection of my computer via usb cable? IF YES THEN PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW TO CONNECT?
yes, i am using the tethering which u mentioned above to go internet at home since no broadband.
recently i think of upgrade my arc to 2.3.3 using pc companion.
but i encounter a issue that i have connected pc n arc using pc companion, when i want to update phone, i enable the tethering function, then the pc disconnected with my arc ord, how to solve? thks for advice!
why sony ericsson doesnt allow to phone use the internet connection from pc ?
There's not much demand for it, most people have wifi routers these days.
You can use your PC's internet connection on your phone if you have Linux (through USB) or laptop (through Wi-Fi) with Conectify or similar programs.
Also, I don't think the blame's on SE, but on Android OS.
Yeah i guess this is about android and did u ever try to search about bluetooth connection? we were using this at java phones, example w series...
htc wildfire s has option for using pc net in mobile...
How is your computer connected to the internet? Cable? WiFi? Something else?
Does your computer have WiFi?
If your computer is connected via cable to modem/router, and it has WiFi, create a WiFi network to share the connetion and connect via your phone.
