Sending Private Messages - About xda-developers.com

Hi all,
just tried to send a pm to someone. There was no error but the message doesn't appear in my Sent Items folder. Is this common or do I have to worry about the message not being sent?
greetings

Try to check the checkbox nexttime

dang...
you mean this one:
Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder.
maan, this should be on by default, no wait there should not even be the option to disable this.
Please forum admins, make this on by default.

+1 This really should be on by default.

By having it on non-default it saves memory for the forums server.

Hold your finger over the text message and you will get the delete option. You can also do this over the whole thread to delete that thread from a person.
No when u go to add a recipient u can choose from a list of recents. But theres no way to delete that list

I can't replicate this issue, but I'm not totally stock, either. Please advise:
ROM/Kernel version? (IE: I'm using OsiMood 2.01.30, and the Cranium Kernel)
Stock Messaging App? (IE: I'm using GO SMS Pro)
Thanks

I think he's talking about when you add a recipient and it lets you choose from a list of recent recipients that you have texted.

Thanks, I'm still trying to replicate the issue, I'm not seeing it. I sent a text message to a friend, then:
New text --> Add Recipients --> Recent
Their name was first
I canceled that message, deleted the text I sent them, then:
New text --> Add Recipients --> Recent
Their name was no longer there.
I also did:
New text --> Add Recipients --> Recent --> Checked a bunch of different names, clicked "Add"
It added all the recipients. I did a long-press on each name, and a menu pops up with options for Delete and Edit, both options worked.
Can you give a step-by-step what you're doing, what results you get, and what you think is missing?
Thanks

How do you send mass text on galaxy nexus?

Hey guys I really can figure this out. Can anybody help out?

You have to use another SMS app like Go SMS or something.

+1, definitely in GoSMS, where you add recipients in compose new message you can select entire groups or all contacts...
You can add a bunch of people to the recipient list just by tapping it

I use hand cent because it has a cleaner look and less childish...

GroupText it's in the market.
You can type multiple names in the stock msging app. Just tap on the address bar and keep inputing names.
Mind you, it cant email a group but it can mass text.
I filed a "bug" about this:

What bug? Read posts above yours.
After you enter the first recipient, tap in the TO: field enter another one, then keep adding to your hearts content.

That is a pain in the ass though. Read the report I filed to see why it is.
Not only is it a pain in the ass, but there's also a limit to how many people you can add when using that method.
I can't believe Google still hasn't given us a built-in option to see a list of all contacts with tick boxes next to their names for easy selection. My Symbian phones from 2004 could do that.

Unable to send PMs

When I compose and click send in a PM, it returns to the inbox. When I check the "sent" folder it is empty. I am also not getting any responses back to any of my pms. Is this a site problem? I mean, should PMs show up in the sent folder when I send them?

You need to enable sent messages if you want to see them. Go to USER CP (in the top menu), Edit Options, Messaging & Notification and tick "Save a copy of sent messages".
As for not getting responses that's really no indication of whether you've sent them or not, is it
Send me one and I'll reply back so you know it works.
It's possible that the user isn't online. Or they may be a developer, in which case they probably don't reply to every single one...
I sent TO dev pm but i dont hava change nothing in my setting :s

[Request][MOD] Enable default text message app to send Scheduled text messages.

Hey all.
I recently had the need to send a scheduled text message to someone, but i realized my phone didn't have that option. I searched for a messaging app which could help me send scheduled messages, and i came across GoSms. I tried it,but i didn't like the idea of having 2 sms apps installed. I searched further, and i came across this thread. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471786&page=3
I tried to follow their steps, but i don't know how to decompile apks. Also, when i got to the touchwiz default sms apk,it was labelled SecMmsMultisim.apk as opposed to SecMms.apk which was available in that thread ( Probably because Grand is Dual Sim). Because of this, will the process still be the same?
Or better still,is there a flashable Mod designed for Grand?
Someone please help!

how to do schedule message?
There is actually a app called note 2 hidden settings app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...edium=organic&utm_term=note+2+hidden+settings
It has the option of scheduled messages but it says it won't work on grand however after reboot you can see there is a option for scheduled messages . I haven't tested it but it may or may not work
