{REQ}Record Phone Call - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if there is an app to record a phone call on the epic that works with out having to put the phone on speaker - my only sanyo did this back in the day

You can record the call using google voice.

I thought of the same thing, but with federal wiring taping laws the way they are it would need an audible beep so the other party knows they are being recorded.

Socos your wrong most states have laws allowing you to record your own calls with out notifying the user. Is there a way I can make google voice have out going calls but show my # not google voices?

Also how can I record out going calls? I am pretty sure gvoice only records incoming calls.

acctually dependinf on the the state in OHIO only one person in the conversation needs to know that it is being recorded that is way the cops need a judge to sign off on it cause neither parties or people know that they are being taped

google voice only records incoming calls... that is 100% for sure. anyone have a call recording app that works well on the Epic4G? heck... i had a great one for my palm centro and so i should have one for my Epic4g should i not?

Question: Can CM7 or 9 on the Epic record phone calls?

Samsung-based Touchwiz kernels do not seem to allow software access to the handset mic or speakers so as far as I know, does not allow decent quality call recording.
Has anyone gotten an in-call recording app to work with CM?

some states like indiana if their are only two people on the call then only one party needs to know it is being recorded (usually the person recording it) but if a third person gets on the call or if the other party hands the phone over to someone else then the person recording must inform them that you are recording.
in states like IL the person who is recording must inform all parties that the call is being recorded.
if the call crosses state lines like you call from indiana and you call Florida then US interstate wiretap laws come into play and all parties must be informed.

Because cyanogenmod doesn't want to include anything illegal.

Explaining the laws didn't explain "that". He also asked if anyone had any luck with any recording apps. Nothing in the post above mine addressed anything he actually asked.

google voice has option to record calls. press 4 while in call.
So I guess that's no. I'll look for that feature for my next phone. I've read some Nokia phones have the feature standard.

I heard you can record calls in speaker mode using the stock voice recorder - kind of an annoying workaround but its better than nothing - havent tried it
also if you get any interruptiions like a text you have to hit record again

You can normally tell when someone does receive a call waiting notification either from the conversation cutting out or hearing some other anomally. I don't think that this would be a software issue for Google to fix though.

I turned the call waiting off , then i called myself and picked up, and then called from another number at the same time then it just say user is busy it gives no beeping or any kind of notification when i am on a call, this is one of the issues with android. and definately a missing feature or havent been looked at.Cause only i should get the notification for beeping not the caller who is on call waiting.
i havent used any androids before but in any other phone i used there is no notification to my caller that i am receiving a call just to me i get a beep sound that someone is on call waiting.
No one has an answer ? Common guys I am on the biggest websites for android.
Anyone of you tried what i am talking about ?
I use the settings you were describibg and i get an anoying double beep sound when someone else calls me...
Just by "phone-app > settings > adittional >".
Remember that some serviceproviders don't support this feature though.

have anyone tried or tested what i am talking about ?
ok again i ll try to elaborate my question again.
i am on a call with 1st person , a second person calls me i can hear the beep that someone else is calling but the 1st person i am talking to also gets a beep that another person is calling me. why ?
and if i turn off call waiting is settings>additinal settings then i dont get any notification and i cant pick up the call ,as i am not notified, and the second user just get that i am busy

Wauw I never knew other hear the beep as well. But as fast as it happens i tell the person i'm calling with to wait for a second (unless that call is more important) and then i click the on hold button. After 2 or 3 seconds my phone will ring and I can pick it up...
how long are people allowed to dial in, and have you got redirect (wich standard goes to voicemail) on at your phone or provider? Check that up by dialing your voicemail and checking the spoken information. As for the beep... i can't reproduce it nor know it... how loud is your speaker?

Basically what he is saying that both parties hear the beep when someone is calling him. I hear it too in my phone, I think its a service provider thing because in my country, every phone I had switched on call waiting both parties will hear the beep.
P.s even when using my Bluetooth so there is no way they can hear it from my speaker.

exactly, but if i put my sim in my nokia phone only i hear the beep that someone is calling the other person doesnt.
So i am sure this is not related to service provider.
I am in canada and with WIND
Then long gone the feature phones. Welcome to the smart phones world. I don't think you can get rid of that, I'm stuck with it so I stopped paying attention. You should too

Well how can you say that this is a feature ? lol......
I know this is a smartphone , but right know i can see this is a dumb feature(if you call it a feature),or i can say this havent been looked into at all by google.
So now my question do all androids have this same issue ?
Can some pro-dev tell me if there is anything that can be done ,any tweak any software ?

Some calls don't ring

Anybody have issues where some phone calls don't ring? For example, I had a missed call today that didn't ring and barely displayed on the screen long enough to notice and answer the call, and not even a minute after, somebody else called and the phone wrong with no problem. I've noticed this since I got the phone last week and wonder if I should exchange it if it's a faulty unit.
welcome to sprint.. i've had issues where the phone never rings and call goes directly to voicemail despite the phone showing full bars.. usually if someone calls a second time right after the phone rings

I don't mean that. I'm use to not getting calls....I've been with Sprint since 2001. My issue is that my phone is actually getting the call, but there's no ring sound. I will have the phone right in front of me and somebody will call without any noice, and then somebody else will call shortly after and the ringtone sounds loudly.

call recording

Hi, does anyone know how i can record a phone call with both sides of the conversation being recorded. I have found an app "ACR call recorder" However this app only records both sides of the conversation, if the entire call is on speaker phone. I have tried many other apps, most of them, the sound quality on the other end of the conversation is terrible. my phone is not rooted and i would like to keep it that way. Thanks!!

Record phone call?

Is there a setting somewhere to record the phone call, the audio?
Thanks

Not that I know of. Usually most of the smartphone manufactures remove that feature due to legal concerns. You'd have to use a third party app if you want it badly
