[Q] Changing Notification Bar Icons

Basically, I've been using AuraxTSense for a long time now, and once Neo started to implement the Transparent Theme, so I've been sticking with older versions just because I'm not happy with the Transparent Theme. I've now bit the bullet and updated to the latest version, but now there's something I want.
Android Stock has some nice icons, and I'm really not keen on the HTC Notification Bar Icons, I want the icons from stock (like Neo has done in the past, and continues to do) but I have no idea how to do it. I've opened up the framework-res.apk with winzip, browsed in there, found different images etc in there, but I don't know which ones to change.
I hope someone understands what I'm saying!

[REQ] Porting Black Carbon Notification Pulldown to Froyo

I saw this theme over at the Vibrant forum

basically it's a dark screen notification pulldown that looks great on dark themes. Unfortunately it's only for the Vibrant version which is still Eclair. I tried hacking my twframework but as I am totally noob to this stuff I didn't really get far. Also the graphic file naming conventions has some differences in eclair and froyo.
I'm just bringing this up to attention here, hopefully someone is interested enough and good enough to do the port to our froyo roms (jpa/jpp/jpo etc). TIA!

I've done that ;-) Only tested on Doc's 7.5 Froyo JPA! Made as update package for Clockwork recovery...

dude shawn can u get this on jpo i tried it on jpo but it screws up sum of the txt like on the lockscreen and when u connect to usb......i luv ur theme but m not willin to go on jpa ....can u port it on jpo???

[Q] Theming Nils Gingersense

I have been using Nils Gingersense for two days now and love it. One problem I have is the notification icons are ugly. I used to have Riptide's status bar Mod on Chingy's Incredibly Reengineered ROM and love those icons. Is there a way to get those on Gingersense? I have tried to Metamorph like in Inc Reen. but it didn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You'd have to get the icons you want, and use a program like 7zip to open the framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk to add the icons, as that's where they live. I haven't seen any mods for this really as far as full blown themes go, but that'd be how you'd do it.
You could use ADB to pull the framework-res and com.htc.resources apk's from your phone to see if the icon names match. If not, you'd have to rename the icons you want to the names of the icons that exist in the apks already. If you simply just replace the icons with new ones and they are named something different, it won't work. Make sense?

is there anyone that could help me make some notification icons

i have some icons that i want to make for notification icons on my desire. i am totally rubbish with paint / photoshop and have tried many times already to learn. all i want is the icons resized and colour added to show the different phases of the signal / 3g and 4g signal. if anyone would like to help me reach my goal either reply to the thread or pm me. thanks.......................sudeki300

Have you looked at UOT Kitchen? there are some to choose from.

yes that was the first place i looked and was hoping i could just upload the icons there but it needs to already be an apk file such as systemUI.apk. so i'll still need the icons resized and rejigged then put it back into the apk file before uot kitchen can do it's magic.......................sudeki300

I'm sorry , i'm on sleeper rom odex 2.03 , i'm looking to make my signal strength bars green , i cannot find instructions on how to do this and any files people normally list always change the 3g icon as well. Uot kitchen doesn't seem to change this on my phone. I found one file that changed it while leaving the 3g alone but it had other things changed that i don't want edited. Any help appreciated

You can't theme an odexed rom that your biggest problem right there it must be deodexed and them uot theme kitchen will work like a charm.

i had one that worked but didn't like that it added the words legendary Era to the notification window. sucks i have everything else set the way i like it, overscroll, battery mod and other green highlights, ;(

UOT kitchen worms first. It doesn't add legendary era at all unless you based it off of the legendary rom framework...

i tried uot kitchen, but i think there odex support is limited because it won't change the signal bar color. thanks
