Just purchased a note 2! Please help...

I have just purchased a note 2.
Went from a galaxy s2x to this beautiful peace of technology
I need some help finding a good rom though...
I want a rom that has epectacular battery life...
Of course I want to keep all the s-pen as I havent really fooled around with it
Can anyone recommend a rom that has: Good battery and s-pen apps?
Thanks I am very excited right now!
Search the threads. This is a very common question and everyone starts a new thread for the same thing. So, it's been answered!

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

ARHD 5 with Parseus kernel - great battery life and ARHD is no different to Stock rom in UI, so, all the S-pen functionality is fully retained.
You really don't need another ROM. Try Nova launcher; stock ROM behaves well with regard to battery life and you retain nearly all TouchWiz functionality with another launcher. The only thing you lose are the buddy pages, ie. the additional pages for taking out Spen or inserting headphones. But you can still let the Note app popup when you take the s pen out or start the music player whenever the headphones insert and that's basically what you want most of the time. ..
Note'd too from my N7100...

I agree with Yrcimim. You do not need another rom. The one you have should give you about 19 - 24 hours intense usage and upto 2-3 days light usage.
"If it aint broke, don't fix it!"
Seriously! Try some launchers Nova, Next launcher, SSlauncher etc
Install some very useful apps: SwipePad, Data Easy, (the list is long).
Enjoy you phone.
I actually just realized my phone stock rom does NOT have multitasking windows (which is one of the main features)
seems like my carrier doesn't have an update for that as of yet... so a custom rom is needed to enable the power of my phone...
So I need to get a custom rom otherwise i'd totally rock stock.

[Q] Best rom for daly use

Hey i have just bought my note 2 (n7100)
and i want to know what is the best rom for daily use . I play a lot of big game like N.O.V.A 3 or dead trigger . I listen music a lot to and a good battery life will be very good .
Thanks in advance .
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I'm new to all this myself, but from what I have been able to learn most ROMs will give battery life and performance improvement. As far as gaming specific ROMs, I am not even sure it will make a difference...
People use lots of different ROMs for daily use - usually they will post in the ROM thread saying something like "this is now my daily..." You could try the search term "my daily" and see what pops up?
But if you just want to make sure you're getting best battery life and don't necessarily want the extra features of a ROM, you could always just check that there's nothing putting unnecessary drain on it. Check out these links for tips on optimising your battery:

You can use those battery tips even if you're running a ROM, so I'd say it's worth looking at those first... hope that helps!

ROM's are too subjective to what each individual person likes so you cannot say one ROM is better than the rest. What you think is the best ROM might be someone else's worst ROM.

[Q] Just one simple and quik question

Hii guys
Tomorrow I will be getting my Samsung Ace 2 i8160
I see it has a lot of ram for such a phone
My short and quick question would be
As I can think is that if I leave it on gingerbread I will have no lags
But the thing I was wondering how it is working on stock jellybean??
Any lag?
This phone will be actually not for me....if it were for me I would leave it or root it and so on
But it is for my girlfriend and I just want to give her an experiance with best performance
No lag and soo on
So guys who had this phone.....should I just leave it on gingerbread couse she does not care
anyway about systems and stuff it just should run smooth
Any advice will be very helpfull
Thanks :good:

Is this phone worth buying?

Hello everyone, I am planning to buy this phone, is it still worth buying after 1 year of its launch? I did some research and found very bad reviews about this phone everywhere, many guys claimed that there are bugs in the os and can be solved using a custom rom, is it usable with a custom rom? hows the battery life on a custom rom? I want a good screen on time since my usage is heavy, not into gaming, just calls, whatsapp and streaming...
other choice is redmi 4 3gb ram version mainly because of its 4100mAh battery, please guide me.
Thanks

?,if you plan to use custom rom,it is not a bad choice.
i mean flashing other roms can solve most bugs.
but ......because you have no high request(no gaming),device performance is wasted.and the screen is not good, enen some bad.
others are ok
So the bugs are only software related? Or are there any related to hardware too? How's the battery life on custom ROMs? Currently using Moto G3 and most of the custom ROMs provide less screen on time.
No it is not worth to buy it - please don't buy it.

Why? Please mention reasons

The main reason is because we have more than enough people in this forum who cannot use the search function or simply look in some threads.
Second reason is because it looks like you are searching only for the "very bad" reviews about this phone. If you don't want to buy it, don't do it.
Third reason is because it looks like your thinking that only the zui firmware got some simple bugs. The other companys with their phones don't (Lol).
Please don't ask again for battery life on roms, there are so many reports of this kind of question. Go in the rom threads and search for it.
And sure your other choice would had a better battery life than the zuk. Bigger battery and sd 625 is more energy efficent but less performance in games..

Custom ROM for improving battery life and phone expérience.

Hello all !
I recently buy an samsung galaxy s9, I love it because of his size, today all manufacturers are racing for the biggest screen diagonal, but forget about the people who like compact phones.
the only thing I don't like is that the battery doesn't really last. I use some social networks like instagram or whatsapp to chat and the battery is not consistent enough for me, I think. (I uninstalled the bloatware app and made a maximum of optimization).
So I'm thinking about the solution of installing a custom rom. I'm doing some research and I like the pixel experience or the lineageOS.
The reason of my post is to ask you, you who know much better than me, is it really going to increase the duration of use?
Do you have any advice on this ? I read that you have to calibrate the battery after installing a rom but maybe you have other advice, a rom in particular, settings to do ?
For rooting i find this thread in this forum > https://www.thecustomdroid.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus-root/
but i got a SM-G960U1 that is not supported..
Thanks you a lot for all ur answer and information good to know XDA members !

I recommend to install a battery stats app, such as better Battery Stats (BBS), record an idle dump and then post it in the BBS thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-2-2-05-oct-v2-4-betterbatterystats.1179809/).
There are experts analyzing your stats and giving advices how to optimize your battery life.
Unfortunately rooting and flashing custom recovery/roms is not possible on devices with locked bootloader ... Like yours. Do you must unlock the bootloader first ... If possible.
