[Q] no video upload on youtube app (SRF 1.1.1) - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is this a known problem on SRF 1.1.1? There is no option to upload video in the youtube app or by going to share after selecting the video in gallery.

There isn't one on stock EC05 either so probably just a youtube thing? have you tried going through a browser such as dolphin and uploading that way?

The youtube app should be able to upload video, you do not see a movie icon in the upper right corner on stock EC05? Or an option to upload anywhere?

Search google for mediauploader.apk. Should be around 290kb. Download, install, ?, profit.

I could be wrong but I don't think the youtube app requires flash. Just the site.

Throw your phone into the microwave for 30 seconds. Then flip it and heat for another 30 seconds. Presto!
Jk don't do that. I have nothing to contribute to your problem except a pat on the back and a little humor

If your flashed to Cricket, might want to try this. Be sure to right down anything you change just in case it doesn't work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342678
Just try and update to el30 and if that doesn't help let us know. Maybe you just have a shoddy apk. I'm pretty sure the site just loads the video in the youtube app so its not really two different problems. You might just have a bad flash on your youtube apk.

The youtube app has its own flashplayer within it I believe... I say this because I don't have a flash player installed and my youtube app works just fine... (no flash player because I don't watch any videos that require flash on my phone)

Here you go I found a great YouTube downloader for android device.
TubeMate YouTube Downloader
See http://tubemate.net
Best youtube downloader imo is rolle tube. It is the actual youtube app, with your login and exact same features as stock but the ONLY difference is, when you click the more button theres a new selection says download. Its AWESOME. google or do a 4shared search to get it. Also its baked rite in on freeGS3 Rom!!

is anyone experiencing flash not supporting/allowing full screen? had this question asked but since I don't use JB I can't answer it...
Does this work for any JB based rom? or only for aosp roms? Id like to switch to touch wiz JB based roms from ICS. Flash is the only reason why ive stayed with ICS
Just our luck that when we need to find a video that requires flash for testing purposes, we can't find a one. LoL

Works for me on stock browser. If you need a testing site, try the YouTube.com desktop site from your device. It still uses flash for their videos. In browser hit menu/desktop. Thanks for posting this. It's also in the Android themes/apps section on XDA.

This flashplayer works but is there any way to stop the phone from going in to sleep mode while watching flash video? I never had this problem in ICS but when I switched to a JB rom now when the screen times out it goes off and kills the video rather than stay on the length of the video that is playing in flash. Thanks in advance for any help.

3rd Update Found it! For the normal Dolphin Browser that you can download from the playstore right now, the file that needs to be deleted is:
data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/shared_prefs/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml
When I deleted this and restarted Dolphin Browser then it went from "Off" to "Always On"

No video sharing on Group Play 4.3 updated?

So I updated my mother's Note 2 with 4.3. The phone is stock and everything, my problem is and made real angry is that I wanted to show off some of the new feature that it has. So went to group play app to do the video sharing, but when I see, there isn't any video sharing to my surprise!!! What happen? I saw all those demo showing off the video sharing option with a Note 3 and a Note 2!
I was testing that out (half heartedly) with my girls GN3 and my newly OTA'd GN2 and couldn't get them to detect with the scan... just off work so I'll try a few more things and see if I can get anywhere
Edit:
So far no dice... double checked device status and Knox counter... everything is good. I did turn on my phone afterwards and noticed several app updates (most were for newer 4.3 apps) but not for group play or Samsung link...
As of right now I wasn't able to get my girls GN3 and my GN2 to recognize each other through any of the apps when referring to videos... (we also have a Samsung TV but no dongle yet)... was able to get music to play on both devices though...
Some things that I've noticed:
1. Her group play app is about half the size of mine (even though she has the GN3 and I'm on the GN2)
2. Her Group Play app is actually an older version than mine
3. Her Group Play app has an option of video sharing where mine doesnt... I only have music/documents/etc... but no video tab to share
Really the whole thing makes no sense lol... but ill continue looking around for answers... pretty stumped at this point as, like I said, they sync for music, just not videos
Something tells me the solution could be as simple as a setting, as boring as waiting for the app to update, or as complex as requiring a dev to manipulate resolution errors/compatibility issues etc and creating a work around... really no idea at this point

That app before downloading, request an insane amount of permissions that are irrelevant (in my opinion) to what it should be doing... is there a webpage, youtube video or anything else online available to show me what the app does?

Post some screen shots of the app running... I mean even if I install it, how does the app work? Will it allow me to connect to the note 3? Ultimately I dont know why the new update doesnt have these options built in? Dont really care for 3rd party apps either

This apk doesnt run as such and wont appear in your app drawer. It seems to act as more of a plugin for group play.
Seems silly to me to. I dont see why it cant be part of the app.
Did you bother to try this in the end?
If you dont trust my file you can always download a stock N3 firmware and rip the apk from that yourself

Okay after playing around and trying to figure out how to do this I find out how. You need a smart TV that's connected to your home network. That can recognize media files from your phone. Like a media server. I have a Sony TV so I went to settings turned on near by devices and allowed my TV to look in my phone. Then go to wherever on your TV to find the media connection and browse from your TV.
