[Q] No more Wifi A.R HD 5.1.10 - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've a little problem!
I've flashed Android Revolution HD 5.1.1 (Rom), Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 (Radio) and LorDModUE V4.0 BFSv404 (Kernel) on my Desire HD.
Everything works fine, exept WIFI...I can't find Network anymore.
My Adress MAC WIFI is strange: 00:11:22:33:44:55 ....
I've enter this adress in my Internet box, but no wifi...
Wifi is active on my phone, and search for signal but find nothing.
when i enter SSID and Pass from my home...nothing.
Can somebody help m please?
Thx

Strange issue indeed.
I would try:
1. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache.
2. If that doesn't help, I would re-format and re-flash the Rom.

I've seen ppl reporting the issue before, search in that thread. One of the the solutions where (I might not be hundred 100% accurate, this is because I'm trying to remember the steps as best as I can.
1. Full wipe and flash rom
2. When you boot up for the first time do not setup your connection
3. Once you setuped other stuff for then reboot and setup you wifi connection.
Search the thread for my info.

Tried to Flash, re-flash, and re-re flash (kernel and rom) but always the same.
Waiting for possibility to post in Dev' Section to report the problem to Mike and Lord

Sorry for late reply
The last thing you can do is to flash an RUU http://iloveabath.co.uk/index.php?dir=RUUs, this will 99% sort out the issue.

error while searching for networks

Hi
I am using Sandvolds rom 0.4.4..
I cannot register on the network. I have tried for about 8 minutes I am getting the msg "error while searching for networks"
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
Ran full wipe before flashing? Which kernel, A2SD-script do you use?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Same problem here.
Stock kernel, Amarullz A2SD, did a full wipe before flashing. Any kind of help will be greatly apreciated. Otherwise it's an outstanding ROM and it would be a shame if i had to revert to GB due to this single (albeit critical) issue.
MatDrOiD, i know that u have the ICS rom by sandvold..
could you tell me if i can flash this rom using the cm7r2 script?
thank you, and sorry for the OT!
I, for one, flashed it with cm7r2 hboot, no problem. Except for the aforementioned hiccup of course .
Same problem but i guess the carrier was the reason. Works for a while then ****ed up again, then works again...
Boring but i don't think it's the phone, which usually works fine.

[Q] Radio issue, flashing does not help

Hi xda community, this is my first post here, although im am following the forums for a while now. I have also read similar threads, and googled for about 3 hours now, and still couldnt fix the following issue:
I installed CM7.1.0.1 on the standard HTC Wildfire, and the GPS doesnt work. the radio version was 3.35.20.10, and I downgraded it to 3.35.19.25 but still nothing. problem is i cant get the signal, and there is no satellite icon on the status bar. like nothing is happening. I reverted the radio to 3.35.20.10 but still nothing. what do you recommend? are there any special methods to fix the issue? I did it by downgrading the recovery to 2.0.5 or something and then istalled the zip from the sd card.
edit1: downloaded GPS Test (i am not advertising, some1 might find it useful) and got the icon on the status bar. ill go and test it, and will update the post.
edit2: seems to work, found 7 satellites in 3 seconds with GPS Test. turned off wi-fi, started a popular navi app, locked signal after few seconds. maybe ill set it to solved?
Long story short:
Downgraded Radio
Upgraded Radio
Downloaded and started GPS Test, outside
Found satellites, icon is also there
started a navi app, locked signal
Same problem, still no solution though...
I had, still have the same issue. And I have already tried all that you have done in vain...
Any one else had that issue?
Thanks
Flash a sense based rom, turn on GPS, open Google maps and leave it to get a good fix. Without changing anything pop out the battery and then reboot to recovery and either restore a Cm7 backup or flash the rom again.

Thanks. Trying that now...will edit after.
EDIT: Can't find a proper Sense based ROM. Tried REMPuzzzle but phone stuck on HTC Screen. Downloading DK CustomROM now... If anyone knows whether there is a safe flash Stock ROM around, please do tell. The link in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275680 is dead.
FINAL EDIT
@saadislam and @LucidSomnia: I know, but when I said it takes time, I meant like over 2.5 hours, I think there might have been something wrong in the zip file.
Anyways thank you for all of you there in XDA Community for your support. I finally managed to sort it out by using Scratch0805's advice above and it works fine now.
**The only issue I got was to find a Sense-based ROM. Everything I tried either had an error, could not install, corrupted or took TOOOO LOOOONG to load. So here are the steps I have taken:
1. I used RUU to start over with a Stock ROM. [ available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275680&highlight=rom ]
2. Re-root [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035 and/or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365159&highlight=rooting+guide ]
3. Flash new Radio (20.10) since rooting goes back to 19.25 or 15.35.
4. Install and run GPS Test (on the Stock ROM)
5. Allow it to lock on couple of satellites.
6. Pop the battery out.
7. Boot into Recovery.
8. Use a Nandroid backup (or you could install a fresh one)
9. Enjoy GPS Working again!!!
Thank you again XDA Community!
Are you sure the radio was reflashed... I am saying this because when I tried to flash radio via recovery, it completed and I reboot.. but Gps wasn't fixed.. I rechecked the radio version but it was the older one so basically radio wasn't flashed...
So I went on to flash via flashboot.. this time all process was completed and Gps worked fine afterwards...
Radio version 20.10 is the one which has always worked for me...
And one thing more.. Rempuzzle Rom takes time to load first time...

That happens to all roms because dalvik cache has to be rebuild.

[Q] WIFI Not working on any ICS rom

It's really strange, no matter what ICS rom i use, WiFi doesn't work at all! I turn on WiFi and it gets turned on, and after pressing Scan it says No available WiFi detected... i have tried various ROMs, latest updates, including cm-ics, IceColdSandwich, MIUI us, PrimoS.. having the same problem
However, it works on any other non-ics rom, like LeeDroid, MIUI Android, Ultimate Ace..
I've also used WIFI Manager app still no luck..
please help.. thanks.
Are you full wiping? I do get wifi with most/all ics roms. That is the only type of connection I use. Is it that you don't get any connection at all? Or does it turn on for a while? Is your router working properly? Only happens with ics and not gb?
Do a full wipe, download the file again, make sure the checksum matches and most impirtantly, check the op ti see if that is a known issue. However, most of ths ics have working wifi.

try different radio or wifix from ice cold sandwish

What ICS ROM do you have?
I don't know why, but "dirty reflash" worked for me.
#1 Full wipe and flash the ROM.
#2 Setup and repeat rebooting until the error happens.
#3 Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache.(just to make sure)
#4 Reflash the ROM w/o full wipe and reboot.
#5 Enjoy

[Q] Help: Gps not working as it should.

Hey guys,
My gps isn't working accurate.
First off it worked pretty good but when I changed to a custom rom (android revolution Hd) it didn't anymore.
When i use google maps, it takes a damn long time to get a fix on my position and when it does it stays accurate for about 5 seconds and then it starts to change to a street next to me then to another side... etc. . Also when i am standing still it jumps for my location to 50meters ahead of me and behind me, changing my speed to 20km/h ... I think you get the problem. Also the same problem on navigon (navigation software) it is constanly rerouting me because of the inaccurate position. So its not an application issue.
I flashed the rom as it should be, with boot.img through fastboot and zip file in cwm. Except for the gps there are no other issues.
Then i flashed the original rom in cwm with boot.img in fastboot, still the same problem.
I then tried CM10 and it became even worse... every 20 seconds it gave me a position update in maps and with navigon there wasn't even a update because it couldn't get a fix.
And i also used fasterfix on every rom except the original one (not rooted) to set my gps to europe.pool.ntp.org or something like that...
Now i am trying to revert to android revolution HD but first my battery has to be charged above 10% and it goes damn slow because of the bricked boot (made a mistake while changing form CM10 to And rev HD) Can't flash the and rev HD yet but does somebody in the meantime know a solution ?
Somebody ??
Could it be a problem with the kernel ? because i didn't flash one separatly
Does somebody has a solution ?
Unfortunately, I also have the same problem with rom coredroid and igo primo aid to some expert please
thanks
I had the same issue when I moved from Stock to the Modaco Ir5 Vanilla ROM, my GPS didn't even go as far as finding my location inaccurately, it didn't work at all. Hence I couldn't use my maps/navigation.
I am now running the Slim Bean ROM and everything is working great. I am no expert, but have you always done the usual 'full wipe data > clear cache partition > clear Dalvik cache' while flashing new ROMs?
For your charging issue, maybe try this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646135
My phone is now allright but you i'll try the rom you are speaking about and see if the gps works better.
and... Also tried another kernel (eternity) but it still didn't work
I had this issue and had it fixed after sending my phone to service 3 times.
The first time they only did a reset, didn't help.
Second time they changed the wifi, GPS module, didn't help.
I sent them a recording of the problem on the third time. This time they changed the motherboard and it finally got fixed.
Remember to tell them that the issue is specially visible when GPS and WiFi are both on.

This may help - GPS Fix.
It worked for me, but not for the faint hearted.

Wifi 'error', Bluetooth & GPS dont work. Plz help me!

Hi,
I have big problem with Wifi, Bluetooth & GPS on my phone.
10 days ago, my phone work very great with ViperX 3.3.3 (stock kernel of the ROM). But, when i trying download the Maps offline via Wifi Network (5% downloaded), wifi automatic turn-off, i try turn on it in the Settings, it show 'error' message (Bluetooth & GPS also not work, cant turn on it). While Mobile network work fine.
I was flash more ROM another (stock kernel), & custom kernel (include module), with full wipe & erase cache. But still not fix it
Is this a hardware issue? Can i fix it for myself? HTC's service in my country is bad i dont want send my phone for them.
Plz help me!
Many thanks for read my post.
Which rom did you try?
However, is a kernel issue and i don't think this is an hardware issue.
But is strange...
I tried more rom ViperX, ARHD, Balde, MIUI, ... (all full wipe, erase cache & stock kernel), i also tried flash a custom kernel (include module) when stock kernel dont fix my problem, but still not fixed!
And, i think if it is a kernel issue, i have that problem when my phone boot a first. As i said, i have problem when my phone using normal (with wifi, bluetooth, gps on), after i downloaded a Map offline 5%, all is down
Thanks you, for reply this thread!
And mobile network, 3G work fine. If is kernel issue, mobile network fail too, i think so!
Usually, the error message of wifi, is a problem with kernel because i had this error yesterday with my rom for evo 3D.
I reflashed the kernel and all works fine.
So, it's really strange that may be an hardware issue, did you try to flash a CM based rom? Or AOKP?
And did you try to open maps app?
I tried this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013506, but still not work. Why do you think CM based rom or AOKP can fix this problem? i have not tried it!
I was open maps again, after have this problem, and i know gps not work (dont see gps icon in the status bar).
R: Wifi 'error', Bluetooth & GPS dont work. Plz help me!
Because have a different kernel respect sense rom...
But, if you've tried this rom is possible that is an hardware issue, but i don't know why and how did it happen
