So I am looking into getting an Arc. See my other thread here (post your opinions on the arc there as well, to help me out
I need to know a few things. I know, on the rogers network, on a branded phone we have to wait for rogers to roll out the updates (ugh). How easy is this phone to debrand/root (not too familiar with the terms).
Basically, I would like to remove all the branded rogers crap and be able to get updates from SE when they are released. How would I do that?
Flash it with another firmware and it will remove all Rogers crap.

Flash it with generic firmware and it will remove all Rogers crap also do an update after flashing to get the latest version 2.3.3

Also dont forget to set your APN to
Name: Rogers Internet
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
Username: Not Set
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: http ://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
APN Type: Not Set
Awesome! Thanks guys, I hate carrier branding
Can anyone share a link when I can download the Rogers branded firmware for the Xperia Arc (LT15)?
I flashed my phone and now it has developed a hardware problem. Worked fine but the earpiece is not working. I am certain it has nothing to do with the flashing as it was working fince after I had 2.3.3 intalled.
I want to put back all of the Rogers branding before I turn it in for repair.
Thanks in advance

I just upgraded to JellyBeer 3.35, and I have lost LTE.
If I flashed the ATT Note II Modem, would that possibly fix it?
IF so how do I do this

Try first by flashing the ATT modem
if that does not work, use the following APN
Name: ATT Phone
APN: Phone
MMSC: HTTP://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,mms,supl
APN protocol: IPv4
Enable/disable APN: APN enabled
Bearer: Unspecified
Which is also available in a [ref] post by mjwhirly
I have those APN settings. How do I flash the modem
Dl the modem found here:

Go to recovery and flash
Hi all,
I just got a N900T which is sim unlocked
Device status is official
android version 4.3
baseband version is n900tuvubmi7
kernel version is 3.4.0-1670611
built number is jss15j.n900tuvubmi7
I personally have H2O service and would like to use this On H2O, what sort of steps I will have to do to upgrade this to the newer version of kitkat, root it, and possibly upgrade the modem to take advantage of ATT LTE, and a ROM which is provider neutral, deblouted, stable and fast.
Ill appreciate any help

Step 1: Chainfire Auto Root to root your phone

Step 2: RegionLock Away to SIM unlock it

As for upgrading the modem, I don't think it's necessary.
This is from the thread that discusses using the T-Mobile Note 3 on AT&T:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2464498
Will LTE work on AT&T?
Many people have confirmed that LTE works. There is no speed difference between an AT&T branded phone and the Note 3. Documents obtained from the FCC and also on T-Mobile's site say it supports the frequencies used by AT&T. Do NOT give AT&T your IMEI to your Tmobile Note 3. If you do, AT&T's system will remove your LTE data even though it works perfectly. Give them another AT&T Android IMEI if you have to or if you are coming from an Android phone don't even talk to them. Just remove the SIM in your old phone and put it in your new phone. If you mess up and give them the IMEI some people have gone to the store and gotten the IMEI off the demo unit then gone home and called ATT to change the IMEI. You can also get an AT&T Android LTE IMEI from a family member or friend's phone. It will not effect their service in any way. One user also reported explaining the issue to a rep that changed the default plan and manually made it a plan with LTE. I'm not sure that a lot of reps on AT&T's front line know how to do this though.
What APN settings will my Note 3 need for AT&T and MVNO's?
NAME: ATT Phone
APN: phone
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri
Then go to the home screen menu setting, more networks, mobile networks, network mode and change to LTE/WCDMA/GSM.
Although, you might want to try the settings that H2O has on their website to see which one gives you better speeds:
https://www.h2owirelessnow.com/mainControl.php?page=dataManualConfig
Step 3: Install ROM of your choice. My recommendation, Hyperdrive ROM. It gives you Aroma installer, which lets you customize basically every aspect of your install. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709867
I hope this gives you the info you need to get up and running.
Thanks a Million
So basically, I have no data on my phone. I think it has to do with the APN settings. I tried to find what settings I should use, but had no luck.
My specs:
Phone: Galaxy S2 T989
Provider: Koodo
ROM: LIGHTSPEED V4
Here's the story:
I was running LIGHTSPEED V3 and everything was fine. I dirty flashed LIGHTSPEED V4 and the phone ran well for half an hour.
I had to reboot for some reason, the phone would not get pass the load bar on the boot screen. It was bricked.
I unbricked my phone last week. I had to use a T-Mobile ROM to unbrick it, as it is the only thing I found that worked.
After that, I rerooted my phone and re-installed LIGHTSPEED V4. Everything is perfect, except for having no data...
Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks!!!

Thank you so much!!!
Wrong APN data is inside this Rogers phone for MTS
apns-conf.xml is showing wapgw1.mts.net and mmsport 9201
It is my understanding that it should be using 209.4.229.90 and 9401 based on this article http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...-g4-phones-t3189469/post62576106#post62576106
How can I fix this?
