Hi all, I'm really sorry if this has already been posted anywhere but I could not find it so I thought I'd share it hoping it was useful for someone. This is a windows application that will take your Gameloft HD .apk files and patch them so that the downloaded game data will be stored and read from your external SD on your Galaxy S. It has saved me a lot of grief chopping and changing SD data for games depending on what I wanted to play as I bought about a dozen Gameloft HD games but could only fit the data for a select few on my internal SD.
Tested working on my SGS so far: -
Real Football 2011
Asphalt 6
Assassins Creed
Avatar
Dungeon Hunter
Dungeon Hunter 2
Eternal Legacy
Fast 5
Gangstar Miami Vindication
Hero Of Sparta
Lets Golf
Lets Golf 2
Modern Combat 2
Nova
Nova 2
Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard
Sacred Odyssey
Sandstorm
Shadow Guardian
Spiderman Total Mayhem
Splinter Cell Conviction
Star Front Collision
The Settlers HD
It changes the path within the game from /sdcard/gameloft/games/ to /sdcard/external_sd/Gl/ so all you need to do is either download the game data again or move it into the Gl folder on your external SD card.
I did not write this, a fella named Duero over on 4pda.ru made it but the site is all in Russian so I thought it would be useful here. If it has already been posted or anyone has any objections to me posting it then please let me know rather than flame me.

asphalt 5 HD 3.1.9 and gt racing motor academy 3.1.1 works great too on my SGS.
Help?
Total noob here...could you please give me some instructions?
This is not working dude
Works fine for me. Simply download the attached file then:
1. Run the file
2. Select the .apk file of the Gameloft game you wish to patch
3. Wait a while as it decompiles the .apk, edits the files and then recompiles it
4. Save the new .apk file somewhere
5. Transfer the .apk file to your phone and install
Simple
ThanX Man .. ThanX
Thanks a lot.It works, as explained.

It needs to be put in a folder on your external_sd called GL, so your folder structure will look like - external_sd\Gl\*Game Name*
Works a treat on my phone and many others
For those like me that aren't on Windows, there is also another method (by script) : [HOWTO] to Gamers: dirty workaround to have Gameloft files on external_sd, by lunasea
lunasea said:
Looked around, and the only workaround I've found was a crack that opens the game apk and changes the download destination directory. Well, I wasn't very comfortable in using this, and it only worked on some games.
So I configured the following "dirty" workaround, I know it's not perfect, but it resolved my problem so I decided to share here.
Basically I've moved gameloft directory from sdcard to external_sd and created a bind mount point called gameloft on sdcard pointing to external_sd. This has the problem that you can only mount that bind point before using the gameloft games, because if you keep it mounted and use storage usb you'll have problems mounting sdcard.
So I've created two scripts - one to mount it, another to unmount it -, and using script manager created a shortcut (actually is a script manager widget) to both scripts on my screen. Whenever I want to use/install gameloft games I mount it, and in the end dismount the bind.
Additional steps for gamming, but restored my sdcard space and now I can use my 16G external sd for that files. Note that if your external card is slow, the game load will be slower.

That should work fine, I'm really not sure why its not working for you. Are you trying to replace the apk files once they're patched or saving them in a different directory? All I did was save the apk files I wanted to patch in one directory, load the patcher and patch 1 file then save the new file in a different directory then just repeat the process. I'm not sure if you need to have java installed on your pc and its directory set up in the system paths option but it all worked for me

..works on: sandstorm, brothers in arms 2, gangstar: west coast hustle, shrek kart ..and will be adding more!!!!!
tips:
..download link above to your pc..works with my win 7.
..be patient while the auto.patch is generating the patched apk until it gives u the option to save it..give it maybe 30-60sec.
..folder should be in this format: "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Gl"
..make sure folder is allredy created before installing the game(apk patched)
..you could use either already downloaded game data or redownload again once you open the game.
..tnx a lot and very nice work with the link and guide and also the creator,, DUERO! haha! good job!!!!

One of two reasons
1. Have you put the data at the right place? should be /sdcard/gameloft
that refers to the SGS2's internal memory, not the actual removable sdcard
2. The data is corrupt or needs an update
you need to put the data to /sdcard/gameloft/games/Gloft????. The question marks is the shortform of the game for example Asphalt 6 is "GloftA6HP" and UNO is "GloftUNOG". Try your luck.
Thank's for reply all......
to viva.fidel: i put to this directory: /sdcard/gameloft/games....(because i see all the game folder is there.... in SGS2's internal memory.
to ghkoo:maybe bcoz of that....try it....
any suggestion where can find the HD games?
ok guys thanks for all the insight
figured out how to do it
now MY biggest question he he
i installed gran tur 2 successfully everything works great
now anyone tried to use a game save? downloaded from the net
i downloaded this
can i make it work somehow
better yet if you save a game using the native emulator
where does it get saved to? internal or sd? and where is it ?
dam it i read that its under save and its either 0.raw or 1.raw
but everytime that i take the game save i uploaded and rename it to 0.raw or 1.raw i tried it on ff7 this time i tried to load the save it says "want to format it now" and it doesnt work
- Copy your apk first
- Install the apk
- Copy the data folder
- Run the game
- Preferences.xml will be generated
- Now you can edit it
Dont edit the preferences in the Carsh Bandicoot folder, as this will obviously edit the preferences for Crash Bandicoot
You want to edit preferences.xml for the game you wish to change preferences for. eg If you have 5 games installed, there will be 5 different preferences.xml, each stored in the corresponding directory.
Image convertor is nice, but all i do is open my picture up in paint, resize to 170 x 170 then save as a .png
Simple as hell
For trouble free just copy com. Sonystation. NxcaXXXXX_1 to sd/Android /data
I used the XDA App to post this, what did you use?
thanks guys for all the help
I've done 5 games, all work perfectly. I generated the apk and zpak data, copied the apk from my computer to sd card, and copied the data to the android/data/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX folder. Install the apk then run it and it should work fine.

i did to but ff7 wasnt working but i fixed it thanks guys for giving me that push i needed
I got my N7100 2 days ago so I am very new to this. I am trying to install a game called Heroes Call. I have downloaded the .apk and the data files but I am not sure how to install it. I have managed to put the apk on my phone and run it so that program is now installed but I am not too sure were to put the big data file.
I have been trawling the web to try and figure it out and have seen one person say put it in /android/obb. There is no such folder in the android directory just minisnote and Data.
I have created a folder called obb and just put the downloaded data file that ends in .obb in that folder. now when i run the game the startup screen (that little monkey) just stays on the screen and nothing else happens at all.
Can anyone shed some light on this. I know its a free app but i cant download it in this country of i go through the google play store
Cheers

erm... its free
Before you begin, delete anything associated with that app. The data and app.
Since this is a free game, I'm inclined to help.
Install the app first, but don't open it. Then transfer the data files. Once that's done, you can open the app.

Yeh but i don't get were i am copying the data to thats what i mean. I would pay for it if i could because it looks awesome. When i install the apk it creates a folder in android/data and in that folder is Cache and Files. do i put the obb file in either of those sub files or just in the data file? the closest i have go is running the app and it say downloading resources but then i get the error no resources available
Ok since it is free, I am offering u a solution. Use 7 zip to extract the .obb file and keep it in sdcard/android. Hope it works.

Nope didnt work still just get error could not locate resources. Should have stuck with my iphone haha. Was looking forward to having a bash on that game haha
If it is an obb then copy it to android/obb. Make sure you copy the folder eg. Com.blah.blahblah not the obb itself.

maybe you downloaded a corrupted file. I just downloaded the game and its data. I am playing it right now =P
I was thinking that but it can't be. I have downloaded about 3 different versions. I am thinking now that the problem is that its not available in this country. Once you run the game does it have to connect to the play store even briefly? I can install the apk move the data files and then when i run the game the logo appears and it says looking for resources. Then after about 15 seconds it says cannot locate resources

In certain condition i think app+data backup may help
Get application + data backup of titanium from device where it is working and restore it to your device
you needs root.

i might be a bit late, but you have to create a folder in android called obb (small cases) and place the folder that should start with 'com.' in it. before you do this, install the apk but DONT OPEN IT.. Click done. so finally, when you have downloaded both apk and data( the folder), you can open your game which should be installed on the menu.
P.S i know im verry lat, soz.
Hi!
First, I would like to thank all the forum members. I managed to root my Galaxy Ace 2 easily and I learned how to use Directory Bind to play my games without any memory limitations!
But Modern Combat 4 can't be downloaded, and I don't know why. When I try to download the game from the Google Play Store, a 498 error notification appears. Apparently, the 498 error indicates that there isn't enough memory available on the phone. It seems that Google Play Store also downloads the .obb files (the big files) directly, not only the little .apk file. Where does Google Play download the .obb files? I know that the .apk files are downloaded in the /cache folder, but no clue about the .obb files. If I knew the .obb download folder, I would be able to create a symlink, directing them to my SD Card (Class 10). I also read about the /cache partition size. If the .obb files are downloaded in the /cache partition, is there any way of extending it?
Thanks!
Just get the apk and data from apkmania

It is better to use swap rather than directory bin. Actually I never use directory bin because swap itself already convenient
The process of swap is only root -> copy the modified vold.fstab to /etc via root explorer or other explorers -> make it read only -> reboot
But please make sure that vold.fstab is for your current os because vold.fstab for gb and jb are different
To know whether you are successful or not is by looking on the usb storage, it should shown your sd card capacity

Hey guys,
I've been playing Modern Combat 5 on firetv and must say it works and looks great!
I've written a dirty little bash script to help people install apk's, and, more importantly, the obb files. I tested this script with installing Castle of Illusion, NBA 2014 and Modern Combat 5. Seems to work well!
First make sure you have adb installed for OSX
Then, open the script and change the IP address to your FireTV IP address. Make sure the script is executable. When asked to drag the apk, go to finder, locate the file to copy and drag it on the terminal window. Same for the obb file.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Chris

On my Nexus 5, the files were there:
Code:
/data/app/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftM5HM-1.apk
/storage/emulated/0/Android/obb/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftM5HM/main.10036.com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftM5HM.obb
