[Q] Turn vibrate off when pick up - how? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I've just come from stock 1.32.405.5 HTC sense to CoreDroid v7.0 and feel very satisfied with its Sense 3.0
But i have a minor issue and any help will be appreciated. When used stock ROM, my DHD turned vibration off when i lift the phone up to prepare for an answer (as well as decrease the ringing tone volume). But now, CoreDroid v7.0 only reduce the volume, leave the vibration on. It's quite annoying because when you pick your phone up and hold it in your hand, it means the call has been recognized thus it's pointless to be vibrated.
So how can i switch the vibration off? Where is the option to do it? I've already check the "Quiet ring on pickup" in Sound settings, but cannot find the "Shut the Sh!t vibration off on pickup" LOL
Thanks.

No one helps me? :-ss

There's a setting in call settings that says vibrate on answer. Have you tried disabling it?
No hay de queso no mas de papa

couldn't find the setting, what's it under?

I travel on the train a lot and hate having blaring phones going off, so have my phone almost constantly on "Vibration only" and have also set the "Media Volume" to zero in case of accidentally starting something up that blurts out sound, and after having to reboot occasionally when things have stopped responding (has only happened once or twice) I've found that the startup sound is silent too...
Not sure if it's the Media Volume or Ring Volume setting that causes this, whichever way it's good for me!
Odd, i dont have any startup sound on mine, it'll just vibrate once when the initial Pinky/red circle comes up.
I've not changed any settings, its always been like that

Ditto. Same here, no matter which profile it's on.

I don't know what rom you have but I have the generic one (I think) and when booting I get a HTC and "quietly brilliant" logo and a loud HTC chime... no pinky/red circle to be seen?

yep same here on T Mobile Better than my last device (Nokia N96) which had both a noisy Nokia logo then a T Mobile one.
lmao bloody right mate its so loud lmao

Maybe they're referring to the audio quality of the built in speaker, which is frankly pathetic!
The pinky/red circle is the default boot image on the T-Mobile ROM.
As stated above, it has no boot sound and how I miss the silence!
I switched from that ROM to the HTC one early last week. On first boot (very late at night) the quietly brilliant animation appeared.... I.was relieved to have a successful flash.... then... OMG! the sound was so loud my cat jumped!
Hopefully when Paul at MoDaCo roots us we can overwrite it and have silence again
If you turn off the phone having silent mode enabled / turned the volume down, it should not play that sound (aloud) when booting.
Theres an app for that, but not yet in the market afaik.

Aaaah nice little tip. Very Mac like.
I'm still enjoying the irony <3 HTC

Search the market for "Silent Boot".
I wrote an app that mutes your phone automatically on shutdown and restores previous settings after startup.
Works fine on my HTC.
mine still plays the loud sound even with headphones plugged in!

If it doesn't vibrate when you turn on the phone, then its a hardware problem. Failing that, its a software problem.

Thanks would require to have this replaced then

Ive been having same problem aswell, not a major issue as mine still vibrates when the phone is switched on, but i was curious as to why it never vibrated for notification's, the only issue i have with it not being able to vibrate is, i personally hate ring-tones of all kinds, and have my ring/phone tone set to silent so sort of rely on vibrate to know of an incoming call. Other than that i guess im just going have to wait till this bug gets sorted, I'm using CM7 7.1.0-DesireHD

This might sound ridiculous but you looked in the settings right? If I'm not mistaken for texts atleast vibrate is turned off as default

Hello Friend, did you buy with the android version 2.3.5 or 2.3.6?
Maybe if your 2.3.6 value up had some problem you can downgrade to original version 2.3.5, search on this forum had some ways to do this
Good luck

I'm having a really tough time understanding you. What ROM are you using? What do you mean by quick settings?

I said sorry for confusing. I would like to use rom của Nik hay rom SVHD v1.6.1. I installed everything normal, no errors. However, a problem occurs. Quick settings mode is active even when not unlock screen. This led to the crash miss calls if the bag or pocket because the screen cannot be unlocked. According to my understanding, this is due to the quick settings accidentally touched earlier, leading to conflict with the screen lock to lock screen freezes. So I wish someone could help me disable this. That is forced to unlock the screen. When the device is used.
What your talking about is a feature of ics. It is how it should be. You need to turn screen off when your not using your phone.

One usually needs to be rooted to alter that setting.

Before I give you the longer work around, I found this info:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...tle-sound-warning-when-increasing-volume.html
"I went into music settings and checkmarked the option to set all songs to the same volume. Now when I increase the volume, the warning message doesn't come up at all, and I can increase volume to the maximum if I want. Finally, I've been trying to fix this problem for ages, and I know others are experiencing this as well! Try this out and give me a shout if it works for you."
Try tweaking that setting in the stock music app.
If that doesn't work for you, you'll have to install the Xposed Framework and enable a module which can disable the setting.

This is in regards to the Galaxy S IV, but it will work for the S III, too.
Thanks for the help
