I think there should be a linke button instead of thanks in this forum, since i don't want to spam the forums with something like '+1' on every post and button 'thanks' just woudn't make any sense...

Yeah, WTH indeed.
What I really would like - a "NO THANKS" (or maybe "FAIL" ) button for off-topic crap, that Indian pidgin l33t speak, "yeah I cannot be bothered with search" junk etc.
i think we need a like button, it's more useful and popular than RATE THIS THREAD, but the thank button should not be removed, they are different functions
We plan to roll out a Like button this summer.
Blah, more FB invasion. Kindly make a profile setting to disable useless clutter, thanks.

Would be highly welcome. I do not have an account on FB, TW, Linked-In or whatever similar *beep*, nor do I plan to have one. Waiting patiently till this .com bubble v2 finally burst.
Just to let you know, the "like" button is different in other languages. It might match in english, but e.g. in german it's cut off. could you make that field flexible and let it auto-adjust to the button?
not that I want to use that button, but it looks really ugly to have that cut off button up there. take a look at the screenshot from xda and the one from imdb what the button should look like.
as I said, it's just a little ugly to have to half of a button up there!
I hope a +1 (google plus) button will come eventually, I find it more elegant and suitable than facebook's like
I hope this forum will start focusing on important issues instead of implementing totally unneeded "functionality" like +1, Like button etc.
For starters:
- get some working moderation in place and clean up the development sections;
- uncripple the post reporting functionality once the above is done
- fix tje search to prevent further useless noise flood
Have a nice day.

With the huge response to Google + (Google Plus).... I'm wondering can the site implement the +1 button on pages? We have a "Tweet this thread" button. A Facebook "Like" button...but no +1
Whaddayasay admin?
something else to bog the threads down with???
Apparently the facebook like buttons are killing the thread load times for some people.

Well, maybe they should be removed then...lol! How would it bog down the threads? But do people use them is the question? And if they do, that's a good thing...right?
This site is big on "Searching"... adding +1 would make things easier to find from Google (I think)
Where is XDA Developers on Google Plus?
I have requested this as well. I'm sure it will be added soon. They just have to work on the few remaining issues with the FB button.
@nrfitchett4 The slowness experienced by some with the button has been resolved.

Given the Android angle I'd hope to see +1/circle support as soon as possible, if only to be fair on the twitter/fb/google spread.
I agree with the idea of +1-ing the google search result too though.

If you do search in Google+ you can find "XDA Developers". By Tuesday morning there be probably 3000 people in there.
I've heard some say the mobile app will not find it. You have to use the desktop browser.
+1 button would definitely be helpful..
Although it's still annoying in some ways after its recent revamp, there are some good things you can do in the fb app for Android, but some features can only be stumbled on by accident it seems.
Ever wanted to delete a comment? Now you can. Swipe over it to the right and a red "Remove" box will appear. Click it and pray no one got notified about that dumb comment you made 20 seconds previous. ;-)
Shoulda figured this one out last weekend! Woulda saved a little embarrassment! Lol thanks for the tip!
Only reason i hated the app XD thanks

Turns out it works if you swipe to the left as well. Guess Mr. Zuckerberg isn't direction-phobic. Heheh.
Doesn't seem to work on picture comments unfortunately

Is there a working list of the features online?
Didn't know about this till i came across this thread. Thank you very much for this! My FB app is now complete! But wont work on pic comments =/
And this works on your own posts, too. As for pic comments, leave a comment on the Android Market. Maybe FB actually does read them after sifting through all the OMG dis app sux fu fb!!11! posts.

I need a alternative to "Frequently Called Remover"
I'd love to get my mistress' number off there !
"Frequently Called Remover" from Android Market don't work on Epic Touch
I checked out the app Tiger. It monitors the Frequently Called list and prevents contacts from ever appearing on it without having to manually clear the list.
but I can't find the APK for this...

Is it permanent and auto... I need something like that, I rather not have frequent calls at all (TMI)
Idk if u can completely disable it but long pressing the contact u can remove em in 1 click i will check if they can be disabled and edit the post
Edit: i dont see any option to disable them entirely but deleteing is easy and it deletes the entire frequent call log for that contact and not just one call at a time so if u have (contact name) 15 calls to that contact it deletes all 15 calls and not just 1 call at a time

If you're going to be a douche and cheat on your woman and not have the balls to, you know - be a man and tell her what's up. Then at least put in some effort to cover your tracks instead of being lazy. Delete the frequently called list yourself, manually.
I'll take my infraction if that's what happens. This thread is stupid. Reported.

I think this is a valid topic, regardless of the OP's reasons for wanting to know. I like to show off my phone quite often to demonstrate some of the advantages of Android, and it would be nice not to have sensitive information like that so easily accessible to someone who's just playing around with my phone.

Do most people not know about the apps on the market that hide info like that? If you want to hide certain numbers when they call/text - get a black list app/privacy app or something like that. I like showing off what my phone can do also so I know what you mean. However, I don't allow complete strangers to handle my phone. I don't mind people seeing the name of someone I call often - I'm more concerned about the pictures they might see.
Guys, I use shady sms. It's got a built in call guard and a hidden contact list. Dev is cool too, he responds with help usually same day.
It blocks calls, sms, and hides them in the app. There's no app icon either. To open it, you go to phone, type your secret code, and hit send.

Damn, I was just joking.. Did I touch a spot, did your significant other cheat on you or etc... WOW!
I just want to app that monitors the Frequently Called list and prevents contacts from ever appearing on it without having to manually clear the list.
I know there other members looking for a similar solution to this problem....
Didn't mean to touch a nerve, hope you get your partner back, root their phone or something nice like that! Good luck!
Maybe edit the phone.apk or dialer.apk to get rid of the frequent list all together.
Or it may just be editing a value check for a call to save to the list. That way its always empty.
If you're going to be a jerk to your wife, then at least just get a separate phone. Or maybe you DO want to get caught. If you really cared you would not cheat, and if she's not what you want any more do the right thing and divorce her so she can do what she wants and maybe find someone who respects her without having to be concerned about someone who seems to not care about her(you).
That being said, I would check out Shady SMS, seems to help some ways. I figure the cost is worth it if you don't want to get caught.

I was really just joking .. But I found Tiger - No Frequently Called, looking for the APK so I can try it out on Epic (But I can't find anywhere)... If anybody find it, share please
Any new info on the subject
I think the app Super Private Conversation hides all communication from certain contacts and it is free on the market.
They changed the name to Private SMS & Call but it works wonders and is free. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superdroid.spc&hl=en
Alternatively, just use google voice for that purpose. All outgoing calls and text will be hidden within the google voice app.
Got to admit this was some good reading... If that man is capable of having more than one woman don't be mad at him... Kudos to you for at least not wanting to flaunt it and taking the time to try and do your pimping right.......hahahaha

It's cool man - find the topic you like, press and hold on it then choose subscribe. It'll then show up under favorites. I believe you have to from the list of topics though, not while you're actually viewing it. Hope this helps!

That is quiet not user friendly, since we have "subscribe" to receive email notifications for new replies...
Talking about confusing, eh?
yes, poorly implemented.
With such a large forum I thought favorites would be helpful to shortcut to the sub-forums I read.
subscribe to make a favorite. to me that implies I would get alerts for all new posts which I don't want. we'll see.

You can shortcut the forums you'd like.
Simply long press on it and a Create Shortcut option is the bottom option.
Also, no you won't get alerts for all new posts. The only way you get alerted for new posts, is if you subscribe to a single thread and change the option to get notified.

I found a cool new feature.. I don't know if it was already present in the ICS build but I'm sure its new from JELLYBEAN
Long press the microphone button and you'll get a view of the clipboard!
it was there before, you would get a few choices when you held the mic , handwrite, clipboard, settings
Oh. LOL ! I never noticed maybe they didn't include it on the T999V model then.
I can't see the the clipboard after copying images and text to the clipboard. I see the options when long pressing the microphone but when i click the icon with the paper and the paperclip, nothing happens. I don't see what you see in the screenshot. I am on ICS
I don't know maybe they expanded the feature in jellybean? Can someone else confirm this?

I was browsing / reading this post and instantly got annoyed with what you are doing. It seems you are trying to confuse readers by putting long signature with a “banner” or an advertisement if you will – I really do not want to check out your blog (even if it might be interesting), I don’t not want to see you advertisements. Sadly “De-Thanks” button isn’t available for you, in fact you should be paying to the XDA community for posting adds here.
Apologies for being harsh but what you are doing is not cool…

So what you are saying is no one should have 'ads' in their signature? So those linking to their custom roms, tutorials here on xda, video help links....should not post their 'ads' either? He is linking to his thread for custom work for the S3 and a link to relevant info on the S3. Whats the big deal? If you don't want to visit, just keep scrolling the thread. No on putting a gun to your head making you click his link.
If you cant stand people's signatures with links, go into your Control Panel and turn off signatures. Its that simple.
True say ^ Haha!
Anyways, can someone confirm if this "SAME" feature was there on ICS? With the little menu of clipboard copies underneath when you press it.
