Hey guys I have a question. Maybe you can help me maybe not - Well, let's see.
When I want to install a theme over a ROM it also flashes the themes CRT animations. Can I 'delete' the themes CRT animations so that I can stay at the ROMs CRT? Or isn't it possible for a noob?
I've got no experience of developing things but I imagine you would have to open up the zip file and delete the files which affect the CRT animations. Then repackage it.
I also thought about the same thing but I actually don't know which files to drop.

The CRT is built into the framework apk. If you delete it, bad things will happen like bootlooping. The only way is to not over write the framework-res.apk and in not doing that you will not get alot of the theme

Ah so simple, and nice
Pretty simple for you to do . Just open up your framework and find your lock screen drawlable images and make them completely translucent (invisible) and drop them back in the framework and reflash that theme you just altered.

i think its one for us but idk if it will change the whole theme of files you
are using becuase Viper Rom had somehting similar where you unlock the screen
in any direction.
When I get into work later on tonight I will make the changes to the images you will need to make this stuff invisible and give you instruction where to place them in your framework if you guys would like.
hi guys, im trying to find (or ask someone to make) a zip file that has only stock battery with percentage (gingerbread green, no colour changes) crt off animation and 5 lock screens for jvb
im happy with the way gingerbread looks from stock, not a fan of themes but would like to be able to just flash one file to get these 3 things.
so far ive found a few themes that come close but changes things i dont like
file must be for cwm3 and deoxed
can someone make that for me, i have no idea how to do this myself

i managed to find a clean rom i like, i added crt off animation myself
now im after 5 lock screen on its own
and extended power menu in colour
im not interested in battery percentage anymore, when ppl theme it the green is different to the standard gingerbread theme and it annoys me
for some reason im not a fan of aosp gingerbread lock but prefer aosp froyo instead, is it possible to have that version?

To be honest, I don't know, guess it depends on the rom, you could ask JKay if he'll make the extended power menu as a zip for you, was thinking of doing that myself, but I asked him to do a mod of one of his current themes this morning and when I got home this evening he had it done! He might try the froyo aosp lockscreen, but if he doesn't, somewhere in that thread is a link to the gingerbread lockscreen, you could always ask the creator of that one if he'd make you a froyo one. As far as I know it just means replacing a couple of .png's
Where did you find the crt off? If it's a flashable zip I wouldn't mind grabbing it as I'll be helping a couple of mate's to customise their look in the future. If you still have the link I'd be grateful.

In the dialer we have only 3 options in villain rom and in the original theme, there are 5! so I couldn't fit them, but still tried to get them alright...
i mean ,Look at the wifi icon in your second screen shot Its not in the middle. lol

Ao ur willing to help right?....start decompiling the system.apk, navigate to res/layouts...then look at the lines inside the xmls to where it says padding.....modify them one by one, flash them on ur device and see what happens....what im saying is, not all of us are java engineers so, pls bare with us or help! It isnt easy....

Did you get permission from Crysis21.
Last i heard he didn't allow the port as he said he will do it himself. A topic regarding this is in the themes section

I have given him proper credits, but ok, I'll take his permission too...
i appreciate the hardwork u have done but should ask permission first.. i tried porting one theme and i am using it but the aurthor didnt give permison to distribute as he will port it him self. Sort of a repect to their hardwork

Hey all, the crt animations are just plain buggy. Is there any way to permanently disable and remove it when running calks rom?
I know how to disable it via settings and display settings under turn off all animations but I want all animations minus the crt?

Try downloading Spare Parts from Market and set transition animation to fast and leave window animation normal

I tried this method and it worked but now I just flashed a all in one theme for hotspot fix and rotational lag and it is showing crt again. Does anyone have a permanent disable or fix for this? To me the crt is extremely buggy and inefficient to use as it wastes my time. The wake is already slow as is I don't need to wait for the extra delay.

If you know how to decompile your framwork-res.apk file with apktool, you can disable.
Change "<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">false</bool>" to "<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">true</bool>"
Don't do that if you don't know how or haven't done a backup though. You'll get bootloop if you mess it up.

i beleive the most recent 2 new ROM versions have it disabled by default. but there is a zip somewhere in E4GT forums that allos you to disable. i'd do a search for that if you dont want to flash a new ROM.

Im with the OP. I cannot stand the CRT annimation. It was cool at first. For the first week or so, but now its just old. I don't get why all roms include it now. Is there a .ZIP that could be flashed or any other methods to remove (that dont risk bootloading)

The action is in the one of the xml files within your framework-res.apk. Now there seems to be work arounds but to to fix it you have to decompile the file and change the setting. Its honestly not a big deal to do and you may learn something along the way.
I believe these developers do a lot for us and certain small things like this we should all try and learn so we can help ourselves and not have to bother them.. IMHO

Sorry I haven't forgotten about you just have so much on my plate and having trouble decompiling/recompiling systemui and settings. I know it can be done but haven't gotten all the specifics yet. I'm sorry! My real job and workload from here is pretty massive.....
