Is the phone SIM unlocked?
Can you make a call or send SMS, or you can't connect at all (voice and data)?
might just be a bsnl problem you do know that bsnl sucks right, try another sim card from some other gsm network also set your phone to 2g only mode and see if it catches a signal as a last resort factory reset your phone.

Hi,
i m using my HTC phone in Mexico with Telcel. I bought a 3G package but I cannot receive the 3G and i m only in edge. I ahve done the configuration that i found in various webpage for Android but it doesn t change. The same thing happens with a Samsung galaxy S.. I tried the sim in an iphone and it does receive the 3G.
Is there anyone who knows if there is something t do, to configurate so that my cell can work in 3G in Mexico?
It would be very helpful.
Thanks.
Mike
Maybe your Preferred Network Type is selected Only 2G?

I have the same problem! You could solve it?
1. This may be obvious but you do have the sim in sim one?
2. Go to settings / more / cellular networks ends make sure you don't have 2g only selected.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00ADA using Tapatalk
Just update to 2.19.40.22 fw update..it has 3G stability and 3G works fine after this update..if you have older version this problem will persist ..
Same problem in my ASUS ZenFone 2 laser 550kl model finally said that customer care service executors better to check in authorised asus customer service centres the problem may occured due software issue...
Still facing this issue on Airtel Network in India at many locations. The network switches between 3G, H and H+ and hardly pages open up. Also, there are call drops when network switches from 4G to 3G/2G and 3G to 2G.
Hello
I hope this is the right place to ask and I feel at this point I have been searching Google dry over the past week.
I have a HTC one m8 with dual SIM, as I live in Sweden and work in Denmark, I have a Swedish tre.se in SIM1 and then a Danish 3.dk in SIM2
While I'm in Denmark, both SIM card works and connects to their network, but the second I enter Sweden, SIM2 won't find a connection.
I tried to switch the two cards, but then it's just the Swedish card in SIM2 that won't connect.
From what I have been able to Google , SIM2 should only be using 2g network, but this should be a problem for either of the subscriptions as far as I know.
Is there some special trick, setting or some I need to do to make it connect to 2g
It is original OS on it. I unfortunately can't root it, as my company mail will detect it and block my access. (Worx home by Citrix + touchdown)
What I have tested so far:
Factory reset of the phone.
New SIM card for both cards.
Activate and deactivate flight mode.
Deactivate and activate each SIM from the dual SIM manager.
Switch cards in slots (1->2 and 2->1).
Disable SIM1 ( SIM 2 still didn't connect)
I have also contacted each phone company, but they were to no use and just said it should work hehe
Any suggestions or ideas ? I'm open to all suggestions that doesn't involve getting another phone
Also this is not one of the cheap Chinese dual SIM versions.
Thanks
I may have managed to get a little closer to the cause.
It seems that SIM2 is actually only running over GSM / 2G for god knows what reason, and that is not supported by my phone company i Sweden, which is why it only works in Denmark.
I will try with another phone company called TDC and see if they have the same issues over there or else its bye bye useless dual sim

Jio is using voice over IP for voice call ... It requires jios network to be able to use voice calls ... While Vodafone is not using volte ..it provides 4G data connection. For voice they are using GSM
Hope this helps
