Recently I purchased an HTC Fuze and am quite happy with it. Anyway I decided to get tomtom to sort of have an All In One electronic. I went looking around for something that can keep my hands free and my phone with the TT in a good sight. Since my TomTom Go modded mount didn't work too well I decided to go out and find a good GPS/Phone holder. So I went to wall-mart tonight and picked up this nifty device.http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/210/sfID2/337/productID/1593. I know that it says that it is $29.99 but I actually picked it up around $22 with tax. I know to some this may seem a lot but it is money well spent. And don't worry about size for most if not all the phones from this board should fit on this device. If you would like pictures of it installed in my car with my Fuze in it I will get those up by Sunday night!
sorry can someone move this to Accessories. I didn't even see it.

Thanks but I'll spend the extra dollar and a half to buy from monoprice instead of some random dude on amazon with a horrible rating in the past 30 days.
The Monoprice cables don't work. The micro connector is way too loose, and won't make a good connection. I bought 4, none of them worked with any of the EVOs we tried. RMA'ed them, got replacements 2 weeks later, none of those worked either. Now I'm stuck with returning them for store credit. Not very happy with Monoprice right now...
That sucks... Well I already have them on the way... I'll report my findings as well. Though I had several other cables to buy so not a big deal if I have to have store credit.
Wanted to bump this back up. Those of you who got this deal, whats the updated story? I noted some promised updates... where's the beef?
I'm interested in this, as the price is still 3.50 as of this morning...
I got a 3ft one from monoprice and it worked fine the few times that I've used it. Once somebody works out how to mirror everything through it I imagine I will be using it all the time.

I bought it from them about a week ago, same cable and I have similar issues. The connection is loose. I'd like to know if it's the cable or is it my Evo?
I bought 1 too a few weeks back. Same problem, connection was loose. You had to hold it in at an angle for the TV to pick it up. I RMA'ed that one and got a replacement. This time it was even worst, whenever I plug it in, my phone would freeze up.
I thought it was me only but I guess others are having this problem too. It seems to work on the Droid X according to the reviews on MP, so I maybe its just us EVO user.
I give up on these, probably will buy a name brand one whenever I can justify the price. Othere then these faulty cable, I love MonoPrice!
I too love Monoprice, but I have 2 6 ft cables and you have to have the cable in at just the right angle for it to work. This is the first product I've had a problem with from Monoprice.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I bought one of these as well and it's very touchy. It doesn't connect firmly and if you bump the phone, the signal is gone. Then it doesn't always want to connect again. I know this may be a monoprice issue, does anyone have experience with a Sprint bought cable?
I may try another site, but 5 bucks after shipping and I had it two days later wasn't a bad deal. I'm going to purchase another to leave at my gf's house so I'd like to hear anyone else's experiences.

Hey Guys,
I am sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with our HDMI Cables. I am here to do what I can, and see what the root of this issue might be. Would it be possible for the users affected to please email a photo of the Micro HDMI connector seated in your EVO as well as what devices are currently plugged in as well ( Display , Switch etc.,) My Email :[email protected] . Lab testing has shown the EVO to be compatible with these cables, however I would rather evaluate these cables again with your feedback in mind. For those who were having issues, please submit an email to our RMA department : [email protected] and we will issue you a replacement as soon as possible. When requesting a replacement, you can ask to have it tested on an EVO prior to shipment, I am going to pull cables from our current inventory, and look into this issue further and verify areas for revision. Please submit any information you can provide that will assist in my investigation. Thanks again, and I hope you continue to visit Monoprice.com for your cable needs.

Chris,
I have read from time to time about the excellent quality of service provided by Monoprice on various forums but never had to deal with it on my own, as I have rarely, if ever, needed to return anything. Your representation here on XDA is definitely a welcomed surprise and shows how truly great Monoprice's customer service is. I am, unfortunately, one of the fella's who has a 'defective' micro HDMI cable and will send you and the RMA department an email trying to detail what I perceive the issue could be. I hope w/ the support of the group here, that we can get to the bottom of the issues as it would be f'n awesome to have it working properly.
Happy Holidays!
I will be glad to take pictures of my cables as soon as I get back into town, but because of the holidays it will be another week before I can.
I will be taking pics tomorrow, the holidays kept me pretty busy...
Mines doesn't work bummer
Swyped from Eva my Mynion running Myn's RLS4.95!
I just received my cable same deal fits loose and wont work. Ill email NPDMonoprice later today.
Oddly enough the Car charger works great! Evo see it as AC not usb.
I just wanted to let NPDMonoprice know that I bought one back in November that works perfectly. If there is any sort of "manufacturing run number" or "batch number" on the cable, let me know where to find it and I'll shoot it over to you for reference.

http://androidcommunity.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-desktop-dock-available-from-samsung-20120221/
Looks like we're finally getting some official accessories from Samsung themselves. And as the article states, it clearly lists compatibility with the Verizon model. Is it too much to hope that the elusive car dock with pogo won't be far behind?
I'm an accessory junkie, but that price is not even close! I don't need to use the 3pin connection that bad.. Damnn..
For a desktop dock that doesn't do a data connection, $40 is my upper limit and even then, it would have to be awesome. My $15 upright dock I found here and picked up from Amazon is still working just fine.

Those have been the rumored prices all along. You're paying for convenience.
I'll be buying both the desk dock and car dock thats for damn sure.
This is the one thing I am quite disppointed in Samsung. The Accessories should have been available when the phone launched. One of the reasons I purchased the phone was for the quick pogo connection, I hate having to plug and unplug usb.
It's a little pricey but I really like the idea of not having to physically connect the usb. I just bought this..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NJ6EPI/ref=oh_o00_s00_i02_details
Very happy with it so far, but it does require 2 hands and a bunch of monkeying around. I would like this dock but $89.99 on top of the $20.99 I already spent on the other one makes the whole thing a little expensive.
This dock has a "line out" port on the back, so like the Pogo car dock, I'm guessing it'll be a Bluetooth dock (maybe with autoconfigure with the middle pin of the pogo?)
Must not order..... ordering ..no. yes .... arghhhh
This has got to be a joke - 90USD for a freaking charging dock? Anyone buying this is, with all due respect, a moron. Value your money people.
Pretty crappy if this is truly going to be the price.

Extended battery?
While it does seem expensive, there's not much detail listed. Anyone find any info on the compatibility with the extended battery & cover for the Verizon GN?
*sigh* I miss the time when Google partnered with HTC, made the excellent Nexus One, and launched it along with a pogo-charging, bluetooth-media-connecting desktop dock, which cost $45.
Can't believe this is $90, looks like I am going to buy some legos and build my own
Yea $90 bucks is insane...
Hopefully some aftermarket manufacturers will make a similar dock for a good price...
I wonder if that is just the "Samsung" price. And the actual retail price will be lower?
I pre-ordered the dock for my GSM Galaxy Nexus and it is "only" $60. Which I thought was a bit expensive even at that price.
Hopefully the street price of the CDMA dock is also lower than the suggested Samsung price.
I ordered one yesterday and it will arrive on Monday, probably the most expensive accessory I ever bought. Coming from the Thunderbolt, whose official dock was 50+, it is a lot. However, the constant plugging and unplugging of the Micro USB cable takes a toll or your micro USB port.
I like to keep the phone in good condition, since I usually sale my phones after a year or so to trade up for something new, so I might be able to get $50 for it when I sell it. All in all I need a dock, and I'm tired of waiting for these other stores to start selling. I will probably have to stay off the Starbucks for a couple of weeks to recover that extra cost.

sad, but seems to be true:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EDD-D1F8BEBSTD-gallery
I'm under the impression that this dock is for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and not the GSM version.
I think I will stick to the vertical one from ebay, at least I can also use my MHL cable out the back of it for when I install Ubuntu
Here £6.99
I could justify a car dock for that price since my car is my office, but there's a difference between justifying it and being willing to pay it. For people that would actually use it every single day for a good amount of time, I can see why someone would pay that much over someone that just wants a dock to charge it on while they're sleeping. It's still pricy though.
At night, I use the plastic dock/holder thing that comes with the Verizon spare battery charging kit. Pop the phone on there, plug a charging cable in, and put it in Clock Mode. It works just fine for me.
$90 is really steep. I know Samsung said that they were waiting on response to decide what accessories to make, but they should have inquired about price point as well. If it's any consolation, prices will come down with time. I guess I understand the business aspect of it, I know that at least the LTE version will probably never be a big seller, but it sucks non-the-less.

Very cool. I wonder what the charging pad looks like.
Also, while this will fit under your otterbox I don't know if it will actually charge it through it. Worth the $45 though!

This looks like a damn good price tbh. $68 for a receiver and charger is cheaper than any qi combo that I know of currently.
The bonus is that it's also Qi technology so even if you change your s3 out, you should be able to get another phone that has qi tech in it or even modify that charging pad to work on other electronic devices (with some copper tape/wire)

Thats exactly what i was thinking.. The odd fact that i just so happend to find this today and apparently it just went live today i am pretty excited to snag it at this price.
But As im sure the capabilities to wirelessly charge are inevitably going to be included in future phones it isnt like this tech is likely going to be easily replaced. And it also seems like Samsung is going to abandon using our phones tech as wireless charging.. or at least thats what i gathered from thsi article..
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/03/11/samsung_s4/
the thing w/ samsung and wireless charging is that they really have no idea who the hell they're really going to back. Yes, Samsung co-founded A4WP, but they're also member of Qi's group as well.
To me, it just looks like they're sitting on the fence and waiting to see who will come out as the standard before going all in. I also don't think Samsung will build it into the phone itself due to its current ambivalence on the 2 standards and most likely leave it open like the s3 and note 2.
While the article talks about a4wp having a few cm of range, he also did not mention that a newer revision of Qi offers up to 4cm of range as well (last I checked).
I don't care much for too much range for wireless charging, just enough so that any non-ferrous case will charge regardless of thickness. I have a Qi set and it has so far worked with the ballisitc SG (although it Can get picky, but that's due to the fact that I also modified the charger to be at a 45 degree angle and the case's bottom lip [on the hard plastic side] curved up a little for no reason)

Right that much i understand...
I was holding out for the wireless charging where i didnt need to have it directly on the base. and every few months i search around for a viable option.
So far, since my free time is limited, this seems like the best all in one solution that doesnt require me to change my case, and its a good price.

Just an FYI i got my wireless charging kit from this company and it works great. Its a small device that attaches to the back of the stock battery. Its very small and it fits perfectly, very small buldge from the device but the back case fits on fine and my otterbox fits it perfectly.
the best part, it works with the stock otterbox. there were no issues with wireless charging whatsoever.
How is this one any different than any of the other wireless IQ receiver pads & chargers for the s3?

That it works with all variants, doesnt require you to change out your battery door, although they offer a solution for it, and its pad and reciever for 40$

I see that thing is BT 4.1. If it's low latency you're after, look for something that supports BT 5.0. Also if you're looking to use a BT receiver for music or the highest quality sound available right now, look for ones supporting both BT 5.0 and APTX HD.

I saw several options in the thread, but any of them are from amazon. I personally prefer the source - China, where everything from amazon actually is manufactured. Just've got car charger with dual sockets - USB-A and USB-C. It cost me $4.99 at sale, now $6.99:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Baseus-30W-Dual-USB-C-PD-Quick-Charge-QC-4-0-Car-Charger-For-Mobile-Phone/32919769665.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.17524c4dQHBim9
It's Baseus 30W Dual USB C PD Quick Charge QC 4.0 Car Charger. Nicely packed (perfect as a gift). Checked how it works - perfect for Pixel 3 and Pixelbook. Tested both sockets, no surprises, it USB-С rapid charge, in USB-A just charge. It comes pretty fast - ordered Dec 29, delivered Jan 11. It's not overnight, but you know - time is money. About phone folder I use simple one, without any build-it charger for $1.59 or even $1.19 for weird color:

Pretty strong spring, good grip. Again, similar thing at amazon cost way more. This is why if I see something interesting at amazon, I search similar thing at aliexpress and almost always find exact the same thing at approximately half price. Hope it helps.
Agree with Che. Most things on Amazon are overpriced. There's pro's and con's to buying overseas though.
My biggest concern when going through stores like Aliexpress or Wish is quality and customer service (in case you have questions, received the wrong product, etc.) They either take a week or more to get back to you, or don't get back to you at all.
The other issue is the obvious one. Shipping speed.
Other than those things, I've noticed the reviews on those sites seem completely fake. There's a lot of the same type of comment, someone's verbatim, for certain types of products. As an example, check out the comments for bluetooth receivers on Wish. It's easy to spot if you look for it.
Now even with all these things considered and even if they're all true, it doesn't mean the product isn't worth the price. It also doesn't mean the product isn't a high quality one. But how do you really know what you're getting?

The customer service is actually pretty good. Only twice nobody answered my questions, but they just silently refunded in full as I requested. Mostly they reacted literally in hours. I've never tried Wish, I use only Aliexpress or other sites from Alibaba group (you can see list of them at the bottom of their page).

Yeah, this is the real issue if you need something fast. Usually it is in a month, but in holiday season can be way longer (the worst case was 3 months, but I wasn't in rush). Again, as I mentioned - time is money. I was surprised this season - despite of warning of 60-day delivery, they delivered in less than 20 days (ordered Dec 10 2018, delivered before Christmas - wow!). Now many Aliexpress stores have warehouses in the US, so it can be even several days.

About quality and reviews - just use your common sense, like at ebay. As I mentioned, "if you see something interesting at Amazon" - so use Amazon's reviews to get a real review. The brandname at a gadget can be different, but remember OEM - they print whatever name you'd like, so if items look alike, they usually identical. Don't forget Google search, including image search. Also don't forget basic research of a seller - how long the store is active, how many positive reviews, what sort of negative reviews they have - some customers are just inadequate. Also positive reviews can be faked, negative - less likely. And. of course, you are right - it's easy to spot a fake one in both categories.
About returns - have never returned anything there, so have no idea how it works if it does. If something's wrong, a seller at Aliexpress in my case prefer to refund and leave you with a defective item. Once there was a shipping charge, so I discussed with the seller that issue and politely pointed that is illogical to pay for delivery of an non-working gadget and they agreed, refunding a half of the delivery charge, as I offered (I had two identical gadgets in my order and one was dead).
A little experience of interacting with Chinese stores - they value their names pretty much. They don't like to "lose face", so if you have a problem - contact them first instead of opening a dispute right away. Almost always we reached mutually acceptable solution. In case of Aliexpress, as I know, they have pretty strict policy there - if a seller hit 95% or less of positive feedback, Aliexpress will kick them out. This is why they are attentive, expecting your high (5 stars) feedback in return. It's better to lose some bucks, than whole business. Also keep in mind cultural differences - it's normal for a Chinese to see business relations as friend's relations. So don't hurt their feelings - it pays back. As everywhere.
Hope you are not bored to death by my long note.

I see that thing is BT 4.1. If it's low latency you're after, look for something that supports BT 5.0. Also if you're looking to use a BT receiver for music or the highest quality sound available right now, look for ones supporting both BT 5.0 and APTX HD.

Yeah I end up not getting it as Mazda actually made a retrofit kit available to enable Carplay and Android Auto in the CX9. So I went that route instead and it works really well now.

I don't blame you there. I'd much rather go with something that is built in than an extra box you have to plug into a jack and hide somewhere.
