Post approvement for dev fora - About xda-developers.com

Hi,
I was wondering if there could be a Post Approval for developer forums.
For example in the bada section we're doing an android port to the S8500 which is currently in Alpha state.
Now noobs keep asking the same questions over and over again and me and many others are sick and tired from this.
So if it is possible.. please you guys could save our devs a whole lot of irritation
Thanks

Admins/Mods help me post in Dev section!

I've been lurking the Dev section for months, and I've been on the Mikfroyo thread daily since december. My phone has been rooted for a long time, I've tried a wide variety of ROMs/Kernels/Apps and have encountered and solved my fair share of problems through research without posting.
I'm a n00b, maybe, but by no means should I STILL be blocked from posting in the Dev section. I have a serious and valid question for the Mikfroyo thread regarding his upcoming Z port release, but I also have relevant experience to help some of the clearly more n00bish posters there who somehow have posting rights...
I was tricked into wasting forum space and spending the last hour trying to post 10 relevant posts to threads I'm not even interested in. As I said, I lurk the Dev section almost exclusively, and have for awhile.
Anyways, I've posted more than the 10 required posts to get rights to post in the Dev section, so this is my plea to please allow me rights to post there.
once you have 10 it should allow you, are you sill unable?
are you trying to post a new thread or respond in an existing thread?

Newbie

I've been following Leedroid and updating with is releases. I wanted to post that I had donated in recognition of the nice fix he did for 3.06 tonight but obviously as a lurker I've been blocked.
new members are restricted from posted in development threads until they have 10 posts.
Maybe you could PM the dev and let them know in the meantime
Well played for donating. I think the dev will appreciate the sentiment more than the money maybe, as so few give while so many leech. Welcome to the forums too btw.
Once you make 10 posts all XDA features will be automatically unlocked
aw man, a whole ten posts? ::slides in another one nonchalantly:: @[email protected]
~le poof~
Actually being a newbie myself I completely forgot about this place since it requires 10 posts in order to get into any real discussion. Why is the limit so high? I thought spam bots just do a single post then move onto the next forum? Unless there has been trouble before with bots posting in multiple forums?
The reason why 10 posts seem so high for someone new is that, well for me personally, I have to find topics where I can actually half help someone since I don't want to look like I'm spamming just to get my post count up. This is very time consuming, all I wanted to do is do a reply to a topic then lurk again until another question crops up which I can answer.
^agree with you and I also feel a bit of this 10 post count stuff.
Please see the thread "Postcount limit in developmental fora" for a full explanation on the 10 post min.

[Q] Development posting

Why is the forum setup where you need 10 posts to be able to post in a development thread? Just because someone may not be actively posting on the site doesn't mean that they don't have a clue what is going on when it comes to development. (Obviously I'm using this for one of my posts because this deal is really dumb)
For an explanation, please see the link in my sig "Postcount limit in Dev fora" or 1 of the many other threads in this section explaining it.

Posts in the dev section

Hi,
i 'm not really sure, if its helpful to allow only members with least 10 posts to write in the android development section of this forum.
I think it doesn't keep the qualitiy of the postings on a higher level as it is without this rule. Normally the community will help itself when the users are posting off topic.
My opinion, i would really like to post there, cause i'm flashing and testing a lot at the moment - so i decide to post some more ore less useless things to get, where i wanna to be.

[Q] Trying to post a bug fix I found

I figured out a hack to get "night-mode" to work in Chainfire 3D on a galaxy Tab 8.9. I just want to post the fix to the forum so someone else doesn't spend 8 hours messing around with stuff to figure it out. I understand why you limit newbies from posting in dev forums, but I have this info and don't want to post spam in 10 threads just to get it out there.
Can any mods lift this restriction?
Thanks,
Dave
Have you considered looking through your devices Q&A or General forums and maybe finding a few questions to answer from less experienced users? Getting to 10 good posts really doesn't take that long, less than an hour if someone is motivated. The captcha's end on your 8th post.
Senior mods could lift that restriction, but they generally only do that for proven developers. Most guys like that don't ask though since they understand that it is also there to protect them as well once they post a thread in the dev forums.
Thanks
OK I'll look around some more. thanks for the reply.
