[Q] Return to original factory OS

Guys can any one plz tel me how do i get back to factory original OS from unlocked bootloader and custom room, i got no idea how to restore back to factory original os, help plz.
Flash the ftf file using flashtool. You need to know which firmware your phone originally had on it.
Sent from my LT18i using Tapatalk 2
need firmware
can you post a link for below firmware
sony ericsson LT18i
SI 1253-9721
well you need to know the orignal os that was installed on the phone by default.
consider this. if your phone came with the dafault firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 and you install 4.0.2.A.0.42/58 then it will not work on your phone( although it wont get bricked)however, if it came with 4.0.2.A.0.42 then you would be sucess fully able to install gingerbread:- 4.0.2.A.0.42, 4.0.2.A.0.58, 4.0.2.A.0.62
as well as ics :- 4.1.a.0.562, 4.1.b.0.431
you need to download any 1 firmware you like and then flash it using flashtool
the links to firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22105604
the tutorial of using flashtool http://www.theandroidsoul.com/tutorial-how-to-flash-a-firmware-using-flashtool-on-xperia-arc/
however remember you need to install all the required drivers for flashing a ftf firmware. although this tutorial is old, the method of flashing is more or less the same. best of luck if u need any more help, i will be glad to help you.

Root Newest fimware 10.3.1.A.0.244

:fingers-crossed: thank domloard for help we have root
[ how-to ]
1.Download the three files from the download section below
2.open FlashTool and flash the C6503_10.3.A.0.423 kernel.ftf - 7.12 MB file, this is JUST the kernel of an older firmware which was rootable
3.now once flashing is done reboot device and connect to PC in usb debuggin mode
4.CLOSE FLASHTOOL
5.extract the file DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip to root directory on c:\
6.execute runme_ file corresponding to your OS on desktop PC, this will execute a SPECIAL version of my easy rooting toolkit
7.the above step is crucial! if you use any older version of the toolkit then IT WILL NOT WORK!
8.after rooting is over the device will restart
9.you can verify if device is rooted by checking for SuperSU app (it is the newest version)
10.once thats done now power down device and open FlashTool again
11.now flash C6503_10.3.1.A.0.244 kernel.ftf 7.17 MB file to get back to the true kernel for the firmware
12.thats it after flashing is done just disconnect and power on device and enjoy rooted phone!
p/s: thank domloard , i use his post in Z forum and EDIT for ZL user
will the kernels work on Xperia C6502?

If what you want is to have full 10.3.1.A.244 stock, then NO, if you follow step 11 you are only flashing new kernel; you need the whole FTF package, to update to new version.
I am uploading just that as we speak; but for C6502. However, it should work fine with C6503 too (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
Actually I've been using a modded C6506 firmware for some days, and it was fine.
What recovery are you using? Link?
Wrked like a charm, thanks a lot mate. :highfive:

[Q] [Newbie]Troubles reading ftf files

Hi,
I'm new to rooting and flashing custom ROMs, so any help will be greatly appreciated
I'm using an orange xperia lt15i, that I've decided to root and on which I want to run CyanogenMod 9.1
Here's what I've come up with :
flashing a generic ftf to debrand my phone, in orded to unlock the bootloader
install recovery
unlock boot loader
flash CM
The catch is, flashtool (0.9.16.1) can't read any of the ftf files I put in the firmware directory..any idea ?
Did I get the steps in the right order, is there any way to achieve this at all ?
Thanks

maybe file is wrong download here a new one. this works 100% LINK
also use normal flashtool not 64bit.
install drives from flastool install dir/drivers for your phone
install android sdk (just leave all like it is & press install)
now to the process:
flashing a generic ftf to debrand my phone, in orded to unlock the bootloader i dont think this is need. on sony bl unlock site theres mentioned how to get in service menu & look if bootloader unlock allowed: yes or no. if yes just proceed. any way, CM requires flashng stock ics ftf b4 so do it after unlock...
install recovery no need if you flash CM's kernel later it was recovery built in (all custom)
unlock boot loader
flash cm kernel via fastboot
flash CM dont forget gapps! (google apps)

Help with XperiFirm and Flashtool

Hello,
I am new to Sony. I did own a Huawei P10 Lite, and installed GSI Roms succesfully.
Now i did unlock the bootloader of my XA2 and i want to try a little bit with Flashtool.
I did download the latest Firmware via XperiFirm, and i want to make a .ftf file.
Flashtool asks me if i want to use FSC Script when i want to make .ftf file, i don't know if i should click on Yes or No. Maybe someone can help me.
2nd thing i want to know is how to flash a firmware with flashtool. I only found tutorials for an older version of flashtool.
Is it possible to update the firmware to newest version with flashtool, if i don't tick the wipe boxes?
Can i tick all the wipe boxes if i want to clean flash?
A guide for the newest flashtool version would be good, maybe somone takes the time and helps me.
You can also pm me on Telegram: @Schrittii
Thanks.

HI, 1st: you must click yes to use FSC script, as is how is installed the files that content the ftf archive... 2nd... You could downgrade and upgrade your firmware without problems with flashtool... Don't touch anything, just flash with the default options
