My phone has been freezing sometimes, and I think that maybe my phone isn't stable i have it at 600-28 800-38 1000-52 so what's wrong? How do I even use a stability test to check if it's okay?

There's a built-in link for Stability Test in SetVsel, you can download it from Market. Try to set 30vsel for 600MHz, and 40vsel for 800MHz, 28 and 38 was the stability limit for me. Maybe 52vsel should be increased to 55-58vsel.
Alrite, I put it at 30,40,& 58. The stability test ran the cpu 15 times in 25 min. How's that??
IMHO 52 vsel is definitely too low for 1000. I never get completely stable going below 55-56, I keep it at 58
52 is ok..i have 48 on 1000
my limits are [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected], these are stable. 28 for 600 and 38 for 800 is too low (at least for me). i dont think 52 for 1000 is too low.
that is just my experience. I have never tested below 55 on CM7 though, I have just assumed it to be too low since that was my conclusion with other roms. It would seem fine below the 55 mark but I would experience random unexplained freezes and reboots. I leave it on 58 now because it has seemed to cure the random problems.
Everyone's mileage will vary!
Thanks a lot, but are the results of my stability test alright?( 15 cpu runs in 25 min.)

Make sure to run the stability test at each frequency

Just a general question. Fresh, dc, stock, or baked with even overclock highest mflops i got were 9 mflops. So I added Frozen Eclair JIT to Fresh and was able to get 21 mflops @ 1125mhz. I have balanced my phone now for battery life and performance. I am at 537mhz which is giving me 10mflops and 55 fps on netarchy kernel 3.7.1. My question, Is my phone faster @ 537mhz with jit than stock @ 998mhz? I believe that the higher the mflop the faster the phone right?
mflops, is millions of floating point operations. therefore more is better.
This is a VERY interesting question. I kind of doubt that it will receive a good answer, though. I don't know what the answer is.
I would assume that processor speed is king. But if a lower processor speed gets you higher Mflops than, say, my phone than I guess that Mflops are king. I don't know why that would be that way, though.
SWEET I'll take 10mflops @ 537mhz because everything runs flawlessly internet, streaming video, and phone. When I need to game I can turn up the processor to 998 or 1125 and get 17 to 21 mflops. Thanks. My daily driver for now will be 537mhz. More battery life and more power than 2.1 android.

I'm curious about how a phone's overclocking works.. Let's say the phone's default vsel/mhz = 57/800 . Would your phone's CPU heat up quicker if it was 57/900 ? Or it would still be the same temperature, meaning the life of the phone will be the same? P.S. I have setVsel and my vsel/mhz are
1. 22/470
2. 32/700
3. 42/900
It's been working fine for the whole day, and battery temps have usually been below 32C. But I have not ran a stability test for longer than 1 test LOL.
LOL, YOU NEED MORE VSEL...
the minimum voltage i recomend at 900mhz is 46 and 42 at 700 mhz...
AT 450 i dont know but i think 40 or 36 will be fine

Yeah you've got to test the individual phone and see how low you can go
As the title says whats the max o/c can you get out of your defy?
Im on standard 2.1 and can get 1300mhz @ 80vesl and get 1388 in quadrant.
So if your a o/c nutter and try an get the max out of everything tell us what ya can get!

I got 14xx (no trick) with 1000 @ 50 and 16xx (no trick) with 1200 @ 62 on finland 2.2.
For how long and how hot did your Defy get?
it ran for about an hour at 1350, and the max temprature was 39°C as i recall. based on abc's results, that jit in 2.2 is a big performance hit, looking forward to the official update

Just ran 1400mhz @ 95vsel
1508 on quadrant
Ran stability test for 2hrs30mins @28°c (had it sitting on an icepack haha)
Stock 2.1 and its very snappy.

just run [email protected]
quadrant 1709 1st score, 1671 2nd score.
2.2.1 froyo, 3.4.2-155
i got 1589 with 60/1200
Can running such high frequencies and vsels regularly damage the CPU? I'm kind of scared of toasting it, so i stopped at 1100/60 (scaled with setvsel)

i dont think so... did the stability test for around 15 minutes and the temp stays at 38 C
60/1200 with threshold at 80%, everything is so smooth

Hmm, i know have it at 62/1200, with threshold at 60%. 80% makes it feel a little laggy.
Hopefully the processor will last the life of the phone at these settings!
Wonder what the rest of the lot here have overclocked their defy´s to in this god sent software.
Mine is as follows:
1: 20/300
2: 40/800
3: 70/1300
Please only post stable results, the one You can use without crasches on an everyday basis...
1: 22/300
2: 32/600
3: 52/1000
Quadrant score of 1785
Running CM7 custom rom.
Battery life seems ok (still monitoring it) and it's stable.
24/300
40/650
63/1200
VSel 3 is on the upper limit of stable. 62 made it reboot after half an hour of stress testing.
Im sure I can go lower on the others, but I haven't bothered.
I haven't used SetVsel yet, but I am overclocked with Milestone Overclock @ 1200/80 with no problems. Battery is not the best, but better than stock rom. I just flashed Quarx's CM7 rom and love it. I went from a 1400 Quadrant to a 1900 Quadrant just from flashing.

Yes, its 100% stable, in fact in forgot that i started the stability test so i ran it for over an hour... It reached 69° celsius, quite hot in other words...
60/1200 was what i ran before.

Using S. Froyo Nordic I edition based on 3.4.2-177. These settings work good for me as I can easily squeeze 2 days out of my battery with moderate usage. I'd probably get 3 days out of my battery if I'd watch less youtube.
Overclocked my T Mobile Galaxy S4 with no fril by mistake and I know the gs4 is supposed to be 1.6 on max frequency but on the app there's no 1.600, there's only 1.566 and 1.674 So which one is the right frequency?
As for min frequency I have no idea what its supposed to be, so what is it supposed to be?
The us version is clocked at 1.9
That's exynos at 1.6

780 min?!
Does your battery last like 20 minutes?
Unless you have a special set up where you have a real need for the 780 as a min, that seems WAY high. If you do have a unique situation where you need 780 as a min....then enjoy!
This device should be very stable at 384 for most ROMs, and even as low as the 190ish...(whatever the exact number is)

Still...I have the stock battery and run 3-4 days between charges.
Big difference is how much you use the device of course. With teh 7500 you shoul dbe seeing at least 13-14 hours of combined screen on time + call time.
If you're getting much less than that, try backing off that minimum speed and see if you get much better results.
Or don't...and enjoy your life without my unsolicited and probably unwanted help.

I tend to use my phone a lot. The stock battery will probably last me about 12 hours.
