[Q] Incredi-kernel =no ringtone on incoming calls - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running CM7 with the stock kernel. When I install Chad's Incredikernel (2.6.37.6), my ringtone disappears and I just get vibrate. I looked at every single setting in CM settings, Android sound etc..... Nothing ever fixed it. I reverted back to the stock kernel and the ringtone comes back.
What may be the problem.

Never heard of that, but did you wipe Dalvik Cache and normal Cache before flashing? I've ran that kernel on CM7 and MIUI without any ringtone problems, and I always wipe those 2 caches before flashing.

That may be the problem. I wiped dalvik.vm.heapsize, but not the other. I will try again. Thanks for the reply.

[Q] Rom Reboots! constantly help!

So I have flashed many roms such as decks 1.1., cm7 , and myns and i keep on getting reboots when i use tweetdeck or games like pocketlegends is there something i can do to stop my phone from rebooting every so often.
BTW the battery get very hot, when it reboots is that the problem? help
Are you using any custom kernals or overclocking? Also have you tried wiping delvik and cache in recovery? If you don't do delvik at least on every flash it will do weird stuff.

Ya must wipe all. What Rom? Also flash a new kernel that should do it.

[Q] Syngery RSL1 Camera Problem

The problem with the camera I'm having is when I use it my EVO reboots. I'll open the camera app up and get ready to take a pic. As soon as I trigger the shutter it reboots. I did flash RLS1 over RC2 could that be the cause? Myn said it could be flashed over RC2 OK. I think I'll wipe tonight and do a fresh install of RLS1 and see if that fixes the problem. This is a FANTASTIC ROM!!!
I flashed RLS1 over RC2 and my camera works just fine. Try wiping cache and dalvik. If that doesn't work, try reflashing RLS1.
+1
Fresh synergy rc2 install with full wipe. Evo reboots after taking a few pictures. Picture before reboot doesnt save to sdcard

I wiped the cache and dalvik and that seems to have worked. I started the camera and took a pic with no re-booting.

Um.....yea ur supposed too
You should always full wipe, but at minimum dalvik cache and cache.
Even if it is the same updated rom (rc1 to rc2) you should still full wipe if you dont want issues.

You have a couple of options, restore and reflash (making sure to wipe your data, cache, and dalvik cache). Or try flashing RLS 1 without god mode again making sure to do a complete wipe.

Or update your PRL/profile and then reboot your phone. Should work and if it doesnt then you can always flash calks latest radios for the EVO through recovery. Make sure to wipe cache and dalvick cache. (Amon_RA 2.3) works the best in my opinion.

thanks guys. i found My 3g comes on, but i have to leave the phone open for 2-3 min before it finally connect, and then as soon as the screen turns off, it disconnects, and i have to do the same thing again.

Apps suddenly FC

Some of my apps suddenly started to FC. I haven't changed anything, except switch from Franco to Trinity kernel. I'm on CNA 3.6.0.
I know at least about two of my apps that are problematic: iGag and PowerAmp. No matter how many times I reinstall them, they will just FC when I try to open them up. Clearing cache and dalvik-cache doesn't change anything.
Please help.

Try factory resetting, if fails then it could be a corruption, unstably or missing code from the new kernel you flashed.
Did the issue occurred when you flashed the kernel?

I just tried to use Franco again, but no difference.

I would also run a "fix permissions" in recovery. Solved the problem I was having on CNA as well. Wipe your cache, and dalvik, and see if that does it.
Re-flash in this order: cna, gapps, trinity kernel. At next reboot, boot to recovery & fix permissions. It's a ramdisk issue..
Before you wipe everything, try clean Dalvik cache first see if it helps

What I suggested above won't wipe anything and will fix it. Cleaning dalvik won't do anything.
Reflashing your ROM will indeed probably fix it.

Lag/frozen problem

I just got my s3 not long ago and I flashed a couple roms. Decided to go back to a tw stock ROM so I flashed blazer's ROM. And all of the sudden I've been getting really bad lag issues. For example when I would swipe to change home screen pages I would be presented with a major lag spike. Also sometimes when I would lock my phone (turn off with the on and off switch not the android lock pattern) and I would turn the phone back on it would just just stay frozen at where I last left it off on. And I have no way of doing anything so I have to pull the battery. So I thought it would be a bad ROM flash. So I reflashed and problem kept occurring. So I decided to flash another ROM (freegs3 with stock kernel) and problems are still occurring. Can anyone give me some advice?

Are you running any tweaks? Are you undervolting? Were you dirty flashing? Did you clean wipe? Did you try wiping cache and dalvik and rebooting?

i always do clean flashes. im not running any tweaks besides the ones that are built into the rom. i never undervolted.
i do a factory reset, then wipe dalvik and cache. then do a system format to remove the rom entirely.
