mmm...they didnt have any good selection of battery icons, i saw the sense one, but it had numbers, and then i found the one without numbers, but you cant change the color.

I never have more than one bar of service on my evo, at best two bars. My reception is -84 dBm. I live in Houston so the area is not the problem. Everything else is working great. Any advice on fixing? Though I would try here before calling sprint.

If that's when it started you should revert back to a previous version.
Its also true that after you update a radio you should update your prl and data profile
No this has been going on for a while now, I was hoping the radios would help and they did for 3g speed. Just my service blows. What is considered a good dBm?

You mean it's always this bad with that phone or it's always this bad no matter which Sprint phone you have?
I have a HTC evo 4g, I think I noticed right after I rooted it last November. Running cm7 rom.

Rooting won't do anything related to that...
CM7 tends to be more accurate on displaying your real reception.
You may just be at the edge of a tower.
In my settings, (Mobile network state: disconnected). Could that be it?

I just pray to God none of you are from west Michigan... our network has been over its capacity since December 22, 2010.. I know this cause I work at a service and repair store, makes me want to hurt a child.
texts come in hours/days late and if they do come in.. it comes in 5+ times... calls take 45-50 seconds to connect, voicemails come in DAYS later, you will have a missed call and your phone never rang.. internet is almost impossible. makes me hate my job!!!
Hey guys, quick question. I can't get the "H" or 4G icon anymore. It stays at 3G no matter where I am, even on places I always got the H. I have tried several roms, no difference. I am on the sense 3.5 beta from virtuous right now. Any ideas?

Its only going to be on H/4G when actively using data; when not actively using data it will drop back down to 3G to save battery.

Don't think so, for as good as the rom is it doesn't make a difference anyway. Your on HSPA might as well embrace it.

I have tried everything from updating PRL and Profile on stock. I get nothing. Used to have excellent 4G now I don't even get to roam. Any ideas as to what's causing this?
P.S. My brother's iPhone 5 has great service and we live in the same house.

There was a touch wiz dialer code that made signal better by connecting directly to the tower

Well they're two different frameworks there, tw and aosp. Also cm10 will show you signal strength [true], whereas tw can show you full bars and you'll have crappy service.
Other option is you could try changing your modem.
A dialer code to try in TW is ##72786#. It will update everything and reactivate your phone.
Which Modem would be my best bet? I'll try the Dialer code first.

just go from newest > old. Mileage will vary; some work better for other varied on location.
