Hi to All Devs/Everyone,
I found this camera app, this enable 720 recording but it is too laggy, may be you can help how to remove lag during recording. attach is the file. this is working with Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 but with lag. you may visit this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1094424 for more details.
Update: Install BitrateMod(720P only), this will enable 1080P video recording, but still laggy. 1fps only.
Well, definitely something i was looking for, but can you tell where you got this file and what are the minimum requirements (like android version etc). i cant push it to my phone right now as im making auto installer thing for toolkit and my phone doesnt have a rom on Good luck devs!
Who try, working or not?
I have one camera that was ported to desre and is reported there to be capable of 720p recording in 2.3.3 builds....will test if it wirks also on HD2 and release then...
Good news Daekin!
maybe if we use chainfire + the nvidia plugin would adjust this, because i saw that this camera file is for tegra...
i attached the plugin
I used chianfire3d plugin but still laggy.
GO! 720p recording on HD2.

On android because we already can use 720p on windows phone 7
Could the lag be related to the speed of your micro sd? . . . just a thought
The problem comes from the graphics drivers.

might be? because i have only class 2 micro sd, if anyone can try using high speed micro sd, please post your result.

Alright.. it doesn't work with MIUI 1.6.3
People to make this working you need to develop kernel support. Things like this will never work 100%. And you wont be able to fix 720p by messing with some libs.

Well I agree unless the codes are properly included in kernel it won't be perfect..!!!
But this info is very useful, guess a step forward if chransingh can do somethin we'll have it workin pretty soon
Well even standard recording is terrible on CM7 based ROM with sound out of sync and camera not responding if you record two videos in a row.
Unfortunately, the disappearance of many devs and chefs and the less and less interesting roms (a lot of updates but no real fixes) lead me to think that development for the HD2 is dying...

best 720p solution yet.
Just want to inform all desire owners of Diceplayer.
It dosent support our phone (they say).
But it works flawless if you patch
libOmxVdec.so
wich is meant for the nexus-1.
Since N1 and desire share alot hardware i figured it might also work for our desire.
IT DID!!

What Rom Does it Work on?
GB/FROYO - Sense/Non-sense?
Apparently what it does is, it removes restrictions in the h/w decoding. I think the devs of cyanogenmod should look into this and integrate it into their libs.

I use it with cyanogenmod. So yes. Not sure with other roms but i suspect the libs are the same with sense roms.
The modified lib brings h/w hd functionality to other players aswell. Free alternatives like qqplayer. Probably other players also.
Someone should hint the devs of cyanogen to integrate the functionality into their roms. Devices that are capable. The Nexus-1 and desire.
Just tested it on Rcmix 2.0 sense rom still lags
So basically it will work on GingerVillain 2.7, too? Well, I'll try and see.
Playback yes iirc, but isn't 720p recording Sense only feature?

You must use a player that uses hardware rendering. Default setting in many players are software rendering. Change to hardware rendering (in player).
it worked, but messed up the weather vids on cool sensation though.
hi to all,
just tried the patch and i would dare to correct the OP, well at least in my situation, 720p video playback didnt become without lag, however, now its less laggy. im using GB rom, Rcmix 2.0 with CM7r2 partition table, and class 10 16GB micro sd card (reading writing 11mb/s, reading 22 mb/s). so it has nothing to do with the card, however, as i said there much less lag now but videos are still not as smooth as i used to have on 2.2 based ROMS. but if htc release proper GB rom then maybe developers will be able to do something about it

Well. I am using cyanogen kernel and nightly rom. I have a class 10 sd card (sd-booster 2048).
I am having good results with 720 mkv video (diceplayer and qqplayer).
it works..!
took quite awhile for me to get SDK adb working.. but now it works so smooth!!
either on dice player or native player!
kudos for TS
PS: im also on CM7 rom and kernel, S2E a2sd, and stock 2GB SD card
work on leedroidhd?!
Would it work on Insertcoin stock GB rom?

no idea of other roms aside from CM7, but i suggest to do nandroid backup, and then follow instruction inside the link from 1st post..
@OP - Are you part of dev team for this? I ask because you seem very keen to get this integrated into CM and you seem to have a lot of technical info.
BTW, I tried it on CM7.1RC1 and find lag. The "News & Tips" page you linked to does actually state though that 720p does lag at present until possibly the next update.

If you manage to load the lib correctly (works in cm7, thats all i know) you should feel big difference from regular software encoding players like rockplayer etc.
Shure. there are some lags. But as i stated before. noting in comparison to software enc. based players. Very large 720 mkv may lag. But a typical 4gig 720p mkv plays well.
No. Im not in the dev team. I just been searching for a solution to play hi def mkv video. And this is by far the best solution.
What i do is every time i reflash my rom (cm nightly) i replaces the lib from first post with the one included in cm7 .zip file. /system/lib/libomxvdec.so
For testing this you must make sure diceplayer or any other player, is set to hardware encoding. Otherwise no improvement in playback.
Hey everyone, I love the Sense 3.0/3.5 roms, but have always had problems with the camera. Either the video is choppy, or if it's not choppy, no one can view the video files that I send over mms. Seems like I read something about porting the 2.1 camera into the 3.0 roms and I'm wondering if this is possible? If so, how?
Thanks!

So I translated this as best I could...Is porting the 2.1 camera to a 3.0 rom as easy as just replacing the APK in /System/App? Seems like there would have to be more to it than that. Basically, I love the 3.0 and 3.5 roms, but having a fully functional video camera is really important to me.
Thanks

you made me crack up man. I read the post and i was like, oh i wanna know too!
I look at first response.... SAY WUT!!!!!
So far I've tried replacing "HTCCamera.apk" in /data/system.app with the APK from Skyraider 4.3 and replacing the camera lib files that I can identify, but it hasn't worked. The camera/camcorder comes up, but then fc's if I try to take a picture/video. I've reset permissions and that doesn't seem to work. When I replace any of the lib files I've found that I don't even get past the splash screen on a reboot.
What am I missing? Is what I'm trying to do even possible?
Anyone???
Bringing this to the front, as I'm after the same goal. Sense 3.0 ROM, but a stable camera/video recorder that does 720p smoothly like stock.
Success!...sort of.
I have found a workaround for my issues with sending videos via text, at least on a 2.1/3.0 hybrid rom. I've been using WildStang83's Hybrid Speed and while the 720p recording works fine, any video that I sent via MMS was not able to be viewed by the recipient. I found this MIUI camera and installed it and finally had success!
I tried the MIUI cam out on one of the new 3.5 roms, and unfortunately it did not solve the problem of the choppy video.
Here's the apk for the MIUI cam.

Just tried it, not a fan. Doesn't give much in options. I don't like the sound effects of the video recorder of which you can't turn off. Looks like there is a 30min limit too. How do you know if this is 720p? Just says high 30m or low 30m...
Camera seems to work fine though, just not sure if takes pics at max resolution 8m?
I agree. the MIUI camera has absolutely no options. Id love a perfectly working camera. Thats the only thing that stops me from using some of the newer roms. I take a lot of pictures and videos and need one that works.
Hey guys,
I see a few videos like this on Youtube:
youtube.com/watch?v=y6X5oYPNs7M
youtube.com/watch?v=IDh6NdObnjE
As you can see, it's much higher quality than stock.
Using LGCamera, it's possible to record at 640x480...but only if you are using 2.2 or 2.1
It's not possible currently to do this with 2.3.x. The developer of LGCamera says on 4pda.ru that it is a firmware problem and to solve it, you should flash back to 2.2

So my question is : does anyone know if it's possible to record 640x480 in 2.3.6? Or in any custom roms? None showed up when I searched "480p".
Is it possible for someone to create a mix of 2.2 and 2.3 that would include this functionality?
Thanks!
PS: Keep in mind when answering - sometimes camera apps will tell you that they are recording 640x480 but they are not. If you think you know a rom that has 480p recording, please be sure of it!

Because i found a thread of ACE say with a stock rom (i have the code, it's a rom of samf.... i can research my post) the quality of video recording increase..
the camera of ACE is different respect a GIO, but if it's can do dor ace why we can't do for gio...
sorry for my english...
yes the videos are very true, the source of the video says that in froyo 2.2 LGCameraPro works but with the 2.3.3 update it cant record 480p and i dont know why
this thread is important!
We have need of some dovelopers...
Yes, indeed we need some developers on this case. 480p recording would be an amazing addition to our Gio. If only there was someone who had the time and will to do it.
correct!! if only theres a fast froyo rom!
Up! Up! We need some developer! I tried a Froyo ROM with LgCamera and 480p worked.
I tried to mix it, tried to get some of the files including the camera apk file in froyo and put them in ginger with root explorer and didnt work, tried to mod the config file and didnt work, someone knows how to make a froyo apk works on ginger?

Me too. I also tried to modify the media profiles.xml replacing 320 to 640 and 240 to 480 but nothing. Please help us! Samsung Wave Y with 2 Mpx camera records @480p and Gio with 3.2 Mpx only 240p? Why in Froyo ROM did it work and in Gingerbread not?

The video is encoded fine, but may playback on the device choppy, which I guess is due to the decoder codec not working fine. If you play the recorded video on a computer, you should not see any choppiness.

Folks, I bring to you the wonderful frame interpolation feature supported by our chipset MediaTek Helio X10: ClearMotion!
Disclaimer:
Confirmed working on most MIUI builds for Redmi Note 2. (7.0.12, 7.0.14, 7.1.4.0 CHINA, 7.1.3.0 CHINA, 5.12.24, 5.12,23, 5.11.1 etc)
Does not work on Global stable MIUI Builds beyond 7.0.12; however, it works in equivalent China builds.
Pre-requisites:
Rooted Redmi Note 2 (or MediaTek based device on MIUI 7 ROM)
TWRP or CWM recovery installed
Flashable zip file containing ClearMotion libraries ported to MIUI
Steps:
Method 1:
Download the file "Enable_ClearMotion_v2_for_Redmi_Note_2_by_Hasaan6545.zip" and place it in your sdcard
Reboot into recovery and backup your ROM (as a precaution).
Flash the file. Reboot
Play a video using MX Player (or any player that supports HW decoding) and feel the difference
Method 2 (Only for those who can not flash the zip for any reason; you may attempt manual installation).
Download the file "Enable_ClearMotion_v2a_for_Redmi_Note_2_by_Hasaan6545.zip" and place it in your sdcard. Extract the folder.
Using "Root Explorer", navigate to "system/build.prop" and use its built in text editor to add the following lines at the end of the file. Don't forget to add an extra empty line at the end.
Code:
persist.sys.display.clearMotion=1
persist.clearMotion.fblevel.nrm=255
persist.clearMotion.fblevel.bdr=255
ro.mtk_clearmotion_support=1
ro.mtk_slow_motion_support=1
ro.mtk_16x_slowmotion_support=1
(Alternatively, you may add these lines to your build.prop file using any build.prop tweaker from Play Store)
Using Root Explorer, copy the libraries located in the zip file's system/lib folder into your phone's "root>system>lib" directory.
Reboot your system and play a video to see the difference (if the mod worked for you)

WHY NOT SIMPLY USE AOSP ROMs FOR CLEARMOTION ON REDMI NOTE 2?
AOSP ROMs for Redmi Note 2 offer ClearMotion and MiraVision by default; however, there are advantages of using ClearMotion on MIUI instead of switching to AOSP:
Camera with MediaTek's InstantFocus™ and TrueBright™ technology: On MIUI, we retain a good quality camera that we have to sacrifice when switching to AOSP. (Yes, the fast focus speeds and superior image quality on MIUI ROMs are not due to the "so-called" PDAF sensor; it's because of Helio X10's InstantFocus and TrueBright technologies; both of which are operational in MIUI Camera.
Most AOSP ROMs for Redmi Note 2 are (currently) plagued by an assortment of deep sleep bugs that pop up at times and drain battery during standby. This is very annoying; and is attributable to AOSP Lollipop Build 5.0.x more than the ports itself.
Slow Motion feature on MIUI is superior to that in AOSP's (the latter needs the stock camera app and saves videos that can be played in slow motion only through the stock video player; whereas MIUI actually exports a slow motion video in mp4 format that can be played using any player, and can also be shared)
I really feel suited to AOSP, but the MIUI ROM also has much eye candy to offer.
If you like this mod, don't forget to hit the thanks button!!
Notes:
This is an answer to those who claim that this mod makes the ROM stagefright vulnerable (Ironically, the same people include this mod within their ROMS)
30/12 V2 released: Added build.prop tweak in the zip file so installation is much more simpler. Stagefright issue investigated: Modifications in an older AOSP-based libstagefright.so included in this mod are necessary for the mod to work. Those of you who are still upset about stagefright alarm in some stagefright testing apps, please consider the following:
1. You may simply disable MMS auto-retrieval for their safety
2. Flash this patch that disables stagefright functions using build.prop (Credits: Edzamber, source) : http://www.mediafire.com/download/gi4113dll3g98l6/Disable_Stagefright_by+build.prop_v2.zip
3. There is very, very little possiblity that the stagefright bug will ever be exploited against you; whereas the mod is yours for everyday use.

Last but not the least, I respect the developer community; however, the courtesy of giving credit for the mod when included in the ROMs should humbly be observed. I posted this mod in December 2015; prior to which nobody was able to enable ClearMotion on MIUI and many people claimed that it would be impossible to do so due to software differences.
Happy modding everyone

EDIT: he used adfly which is probably why the link shows that is dead.

Note: Adfly links are not allowed on xda or any other money redirecting links. XDA is not a place to make money.
You have some post and rep I thought u knew adfly links are not allowed ^^
Awesome. Would work in CM?

The link was copied from my blogpost, hence the adfly link.
I have replaced it now.

Does it work in YouTube?
You should add build.prop writer inside updater script

works like charm!!rly thx for that m8 the difference is HUGE!!what about miravision too?
I've installed this mod but after I set 1 in EngMode my screen don't divide ( wich means that ClearMotion don't work ). But I think I see some differences in video and YouTube... Is this an option ? Mod working but screen don't divide în ClearMotion Demo ? I have Reno2 Prime and MIUI 7 5.11.5 Beta.
P.S. I have 2 screenshots with and without this mod on YouTube video.. If that help you..
P.S. 2 Maybe I'm crazy and there is no differences and Mod don't work on my ROM
Can't play some video on youtube such as this https://youtu.be/5e2G5CcuMfs thats ironic, the video tells about clearmotion
Edit : no error again?? Maybe youtube unstable

Glad you like it
MiraVision works but MIUI's builtin display settings conflict with it.
I personally think that MiraVision is unnecessary because when you play videos on YouTube or view pictures against a black background, MiraVision thinks that the image being displayed is underexposed and therefore boosts up brightness and lowers the contrast which looks ugly. Apart from that, it's a handy little feature.

Screenshots don't help. This mod can be seen to work while videos are being played. However, if the screen doesn't divide in demo mode, it's unlikely that the ClearMotion is functi onal. Have you tried playing the video using HW decoder on MX Player? Are you sure that build.prop lines are added properly?
Reinstall the mod and/or try it on any other MIUI version. It does work.

That obviously has nothing to do with ClearMotion. Just a random YouTube bug.

Currently no; but I'm working on it
Wow! It works like a charm! Thank you.
Do you think it will have any effect on battery life?
PS: It seems like videos are playing a bit delayed but sound comes right on time.

Glad you like it. The videos play perfectly in sync with the audio. The only noticeable delay is immediately after seeking (as the SoC loads the successive frames and generates images to interpolate).
As the whole process is hardware optimized, battery life does NOT suffer.
Can anyone confirm that this Mod work on MIUI Beta ROM ?
Works on MIUI 5.12.10 Developer Global ROM

Brother I accidentally missed this question earlier. It came to my notice now so I am replying it late.
It does work on YouTube, Facebook and other similar apps. Basically it works wherever hardware decoding is used i.e. on all video formats supported by the native player.

This mod boosts the framerate; not the texture itself. However, the output is visually pleasing and I guess I understand what you mean when you compare it to playing a Pc Game (Hardcore gamers always play at a minimum of 1080p @ 60fps )

Oh thanks. Great job congratulations.
Only works with videos? I thought that ClearMotion is for 120 Hz in all, so UI (launcher, apps), etc...
