Anyone having troubles using the google search page on your phone today? When I use the non mobile version the browser crashes. I thin it has to do with the salute to Les Paul they are doing on the front page. You would think the would make it compatible with their own browser.

So use the mobile browser?
Yup I have the same problem. It happens on all the browser Dolphin, Miren, and Android.
Works fine on my Evo running CM7 and the latest version of Dolphin Browser HD. Plays music and everything.
Do you have flash installed?
Swyped from my Raided Evo
Mines stock browser and dolphin have been crashing when loading non mobile format webpages since last night. Could be totally unrelated but Im not sure
Edit: didn't describe this well. If I try to load the Google page it does this. Not all webpages just Google

Flash installed, updated, uninstalled, reinstalled but no help. I also tried factory reset. Then from a blank state with nothing installed I launch the android browser. Works fine surfing the web, but when I tried to go to the google.com webpage it force closes again. Oddly enough I tried my friends Evo and it doesn't do it. Only difference is that I updated to gingerbread ota and his is still Froyo.
Yes, I have the latest version of Flash installed. And as I said, CM7 version 7.0.3.1 which is Gingerbread 2.3.3...works fine.

Looks very nice. Like the sidebars when sliding in a site to the left or right to get the tabs and settings. Zooming in and moving in a site is quite fast but the text isnt rendered very well. Looks it needs a kind of antia-aliasing.

Very buggy. Crashes, becomes unresponsive and has to be killed with a task manager.
Not ready for anything except bug finding and crash testing, imho.
Quite slow especially when zooming everything becomes pixelated for ages.

Works slowishly ok on sites with no Flash. Sites with any flash content go gray immediately. Then the browser crashes.
Running on the euro version, rooted 2.1.
It's a bit slow tho. Standart browser is faster.

I've tried a few different browsers Opera, Dolphin HD, Skyfire & this Firefox beta, they all have there pros & cons it's what works for you.
Saying that I'm back on the stock browser running DXJP1 froyo test build & it plays flash sites really well, I can watch tv from catchuptv.com & play videos from other sites & play flash games.
I've just tried.
What a heap of ****e...
Slow as hell, doesn't even load a page. Couldn't quit from the application it was so slow!! Had to close it with task manager for me as well.

anybody knows when will it be on the market?
Just a shameless plug.
If you (like me) don't want to put up with the bugs in FF4-Android-Beta2
(like not starting with the link that started the browser, taking forever to load,
no double-tap to zoom, forgetting it's sync-settings,..) but LOVE Firefox Sync,
then I recomment to try
FF Sync for DolphinHD.

or:

I'd love some feedback on the new version 1.6 via email or the website.
BTW, you can get the daily builds of Firefox 4 Android at: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/latest-mozilla-central-android-r7/
Was wondering if anyone else has tried the new web version of Market today (http://market.android.com), specifically anyone using the CM7 Nightly Builds. It would be great to pick apps in the web version to have installed on your phone OTA, but I'm wondering if the otakiller in CM7 makes this impossible to use. I tried to install one app but nothing seemed to happen. Anyone else try?
I tried it on cm6.1.1 and the latest nightly. Neither worked for me.

Same here. Works like magic
Are the people having success, accessing the web store from their browsers, and the people not having success accessing the web store from their laptops/desktops?
I would think that could make a difference.
EDIT: Now that im at my desktop, i decided to test. I was able to browse/use the market on the desktop web browser, and install OTA directly to my G2 seamlessly. Currently running CM 6.1.1

I think the purpose of having the Android Market on the web is to allow people the ability to view applications and install them OTA, and I don't believe it's supposed used on one's phone. It's very similar to AppBrain.
I love it... super convenient for me.
It's still not working for me - tried it from my laptop, it says that it's installed on the web but nothing happens on the phone. Tried Google's troubleshooting, that didn't work either. Wondering if a full wipe will help fix it but really don't want to go through that again...
It's not working for me either running CM7.
Works well for me using the CM 7 latest nightly (24).
I have always used the htc stock internet browser but I tried google chrome mobile once it seems really laggy.
Can anyone share their views on what they think is best internet browser for the desire z and why thanks.
Btw I have firefox on my PC.

Firefox has gotten better, and there's a good use case for it if you use Firefox on your main machine because of firefox sync.
Lots of people use Opera and DolphinHD.
I personally use the stock browser, it works just fine for me.

I'd say try each of them and see how you like them. I'm not what you would consider a "heavy" browser user, so stock is fine for me. There's so many features on the other ones that I really wouldn't use that its not worth my time.
Id definitely look at firefox. It might be nice using firefox sync.
I use stock on the phone typically. Dolphin HD on the Nook Color.

I prefer Dolphin because I find that the stock browser is occasionally buggy, and some of the Dolphin add-on's are quite useful.
Yeah, Dolphin is Great!
I use stock for most of time, but when I turn to dolphin, I wont go back... is much faster then stock and les laggy.
I have both Opera's and Firefox. Opera Mini when you're low on Data or just want faster speeds (low data usage since page is rendered on Opera's server), Opera Mobile cos it's easier to clear cache and history than the stock. Just installed Firefox so haven't even launched it yet.
I've tried Dolphin HD and Opera Mini but I keep coming back to the stock browser. It's simple, clean, and doesn't take up any more precious screen space than it needs to. Of course this is my opinion.
I just tried opera mini for the last 15 hours and to be honest stock seems faster for me...and slightly less laggy. I might give dolphin HD a go tonight and that screen cutter add on it has.

Stock is good, but is one issue that I hate... it doesn't have exit button with closing all oppened page, and removing cache etc.
this is why I prefer Dolphin.

On CM7 you can long-press the "back" button to force close the app. If I didn't have this, the stock browser would probably bug me more.
Hello,
I've been a long time lurker and I finally flashed my first HTC Desire Z rom a few days ago.
The problem I've been having is that the user agent setting in all of my browsers don't work like they used to when I was still running stock Gingerbread (I'm running the latest G-Lite now).
I used to be able to get to any desktop site using Dolphin HD, and now I can't. But, Opera is still able to access the desktop version of ESPN.com. I know espn is one of those super picky sites regarding the user agent/mobile browser thing, but I used to be able to access the full site no problem. I've tried nearly every browser on the market (xScope, Skyfire, Boat Browser, Miren, stock browser about:debug thing, Firefox) and nothing works except Opera. I've played around with numerous user agent strings with no luck. What the hell is up with that?
Is it because of the super lightweight rom I chose? I know it's a minor problem, but I'd really love some help here. And, I really don't like Opera's bloatedness and Flash performance. Thanks!
Try maxthon browser. I find it's the best one out of them all. Should work fine.
Sent from my DZ.
Tried Maxthon. It's very nice and quick but it has the same problem as the others. What makes Opera so special over every other browser? I dunno, thanks anyway.
So what browser do you use on your flo and why?
On phone my choice is dolphin browser + jetpack. However, on my N7 I've been using chrome beta, since it syncs flawlessly with my pc. It takes a lot of space, though. I've greenified it, but do you guys know if it still takes more battery when using compared to other browsers?
I use Chrome in all my devices, mainly for the sync features
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Chrome for the sync as well, and the AOSP browser for those rare cases when I need Flash. I used to use Dolphin back in the day but its data collection policies left a sour taste in my mouth and I never went back to it, even though it has probably changed its ways (I hope).
I use next browser Cuz it's fast and der r also many good plugins available for it and other than that I also use Chrome...
Sent from my Micromax A110 using Tapatalk 2
Chrome for most everything, flashfox when I need flash, I honestly haven't tried the asop browser for flash sites, but I assume I have to figure out how to install adobe flash on my device for it to work. As for why, well it just works(tm)
I use ASOP for me beats Chrome in everyway Give it a try.
Chrome on Android is the single most cr*ap browser there is, imho. Plus, with AOSP you can sync bookmarks as well and it is 1000x smoother. YMMV, obviously
AOSP number 1 here. Hardly need Flash, but it works very good. Especially reversed/night view is the best by far of all browsers. I use that for instance often at night opening links in gReader Pro (rss). White webpages are a no go than for me. (All reading apps and browsers should basicly have night mode and dark themes imo).
AOSP workes on my rooted N7/2, but it also worked when it was still unrooted. Via the install topic on this site
Second browser was Dolphin, but too often it would not load any webpage for a while. And bad nightview (grey characters on black background). Flash workes good on Dolphin. Chrome I do not like and had loading problems too here. Firefox no nightview (readibilty unsufficient). Ithink both Chrome and Firefox tend too get too heavy for mobile apps.
I must have tried every other browser on market and have removed them all. Because Chrome is always running itself even when not used I am considering disabling it. Because when I removed it from system/app-folder and installed it via Play Store so it could be Greenified,.OTA failed. Now I put it back. Those Google apps in sytem/app-folder irritates the hell out me. Disabled almost all already and replaced them for simular non-Google apps
AOSP because Flash and official from Google, also when I swipe away the last tab I have open it automatically closes the browser (unlike Chrome that keeps the black window still open).
I use Chrome for sync between my note 2 and my Chromebook. I also use Next browser for flash video

Aosp all the way

AOSP browser, i love the pie control
doesn't matter how big the screen size is you can still navigate easily.
why did google take this browser out

I use both Chrome and AOSP.
For those that use AOSP and use quick controls do you have a black bar on the top that won't go away? Its like it can't go into fullscreen fully. Very annoying. After first turning on quick controls its fine, but navigating to a page the black bar shows up.
This is like this on stock AOSP browser across all 4.3 ROMs I've flashed across three devices.
Chrome though I may consider switching to something I can use adblock on

Chrome beta here. Tried others including AOSP and regular chrome but find this beta smoother and better overall.
Firefox. Love the add-ons. I use last pass so it's necessary.
