Figure some users may want these. I converted my custom Samsung Galaxy S 2 boot animations to the Samsung Galaxy S 3 resolution. In general they look pretty decent and not too distorted.
They work on CM9 and most likely on MIUI and AOKP but haven't tried them yet. They do not work on default Samsung Roms due to the boot animations being qmg
Your welcome to modify or alter the files as you which for your own use or others as long as you post
Also for speed of playback you can make it slower or faster by simply unzip the zip open the txt file with note++ and change the frame rate and then re-zip using the store only option
Just put the file in system/media. I recommend root explorer to put them in the right place.
Sorry for the vid quality using cheap phone to take vids
All files can be downloaded from here just extract the zip from the rar to get the bootanimation.zip file

I replied to a message on Youtube just now, wanted to say that they SOOOO AWESOME MAN!! expecially the DBZ one. I had a problem since for me (running MIUI v4 on galaxy s3) the vegeta part doesnt show up. And also, my text file is not like you describe it in the topic. I cant change anything in it.
Eitherway great idea! if you ever post a new one, ill definitely come and have a look!
thx I'm use the anonymous boot animation...it works on Sammy roms ..I extracted the ani from the rar and put it to system media. rw-r-r
its good!
Here is the link. Thanks AbhishekS
The above Boot Animation happens to be an Android KitKat “Easter Egg” Boot Animation, which is my current running theme, I tend to update these Boot Animations regularly when I find something that stands out, 2 weeks ago I had a Android Tribute to Sochi Winter Olympic Games which can still be downloaded.
The Boot Animations featured here in this thread are NON-FLASHABLE, that is they cannot be installed through custom Recovery. They are however, installed manually and I will explain in detail how this is done. These Boot Animations run on QMG file format which are located in your Samsung’s system/media file. Inside your system/media file there are 3 files that I use:
1) BootSamsung.qmg-> This is a rather large file that holds the main Boot Animation, it does not loop.
2) BootSamsungLoop.qmg-> This is the smallest of the 3 files, it normally loops, but not always, it can also be inconsistent and run continuously or end abruptly. Begins immediately after the BootSamsung.qmg often without a sequence, screen may dim as it runs.
3) ShutDown.qmg-> This is an important one, as it plays a Boot Animation as the device “Powers Off and Restarts”, restart is the key word, as Power off will not play a ShutDown. Tends to hold on the last image before device reboots.
While the above are the 3 files in the system/media file there is 1 more file that I use that is found in the system/media/audio/ui:
1) PowerOn.ogg-> This is a sound file that is typically 18-20 seconds that plays music during the BootSamsung.qmg & BootSamsungLoop.qmg, before turning off prior to reaching the Lockscreen.
Boot Animation Sound can be controlled under System Volume.
First, things first when you may be more familiar with these QMG files than you know. When your device was new, unboxed, setup, before Root and Unlock. These QMG files were already on your device. If you have Flashed a Bootanimation.zip, YOU MUST REMOVE IT in order to install these Boot Animation QMG files as 2 Boot Animations will not run at the same time and the Bootanimation.zip is set to run as the MAIN Boot Animation.
To move forward, I suggest to either “move” or “delete” the existing bootanimation.zip file. If you are unsure where the bootanimation.zip file is it would be in your system/media folder. As look around for the “bootsamsungloop.qmg” and the “shutdown.qmg” if they are there go ahead and “delete” them. Go into system/media/audio/ui and look for the “PowerOn.ogg” and delete this file as well. See my example of the bootanimation.zip in the system/media folder below.
Once, this is complete and/or if you have never flashed a bootanimation.zip, the next step-> select a Boot Animation that you would like to try and download. Can either move the extracted files to your device or extract the files to a folder on your device and move them to the appropriate folder.
+++ KEEP IN MIND +++ If you just removed your bootanimation.zip whether it was deleted or moved, when you reboot, your system is going to expect it to be there. When rebooting if your device reboots into Recovery a simple Battery Pull or Reboot will be enough to get the new QMG Boot Animations to turn on.
Remember:
bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg, shutdown.qmg-> system/media
PowerOn.ogg-> system/media/audio/ui
Change the Permissions to RW-R-R (as displayed below)
As a note: I tend to suggest using the “T” ie “Sticky” Special Permission setting on the QMG files, as I use variable speeds, max file settings, and play is smoother.
A few things to keep in mind.
A custom Bootanimation works best with a custom ROM, it simply does, Stock ROMs do not finish the same.
There may be a delay between the loading of the Bootanimation and after the Recovery Logo loading screen appears.
QMG files are governed by Samsung Theme Designer, which means there are limits however, limits can be pushed to create the best results.
Bootanimation’s require the use of both bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg (using one without the other will produce undesirable results.)
I am always looking for new creations to add to the collection, any suggestions, any posts with work provided credit will be given.
Feel free to see if these Boot Animations on other Samsung Device’s and Tablet’s at your Own Risk.
Please, give credit where due, there are many Bootanimations here, if I left someone out please let me know, if you want to post my work, please extend the courtesy.
With so many Bootanimations it is often hard to remember all of the sources that I pulled them from, the largest source Developer that does simply incredible work and is simply known throughout the Android community for his work is JaeKarr99 which most of the Bootanimations that appear in this LiBRaRy KoLLecTioN are his, I have simply accepted the challenge of using a difficult themeing system and configured it the best I can to keep these Bootanimations in the best form possible. This was done through the guidance of xessus as his walkthroughs and many many countless hours of attempting this work is hopefully showing a positive. Other themers I will mention are Crakanug with the Black Ops II Bootanimation, PartimusPrime, CyanogenMod with CM, BKJolly, and the many others, if I fail to recognize I apologize it is not intentional nor out of disrespect, please forgive me.
Go ahead and Reboot the device. You are all done. Enjoy!

Yes, all the Boot Animation links available through Mediafire are all 1080x1920 res ideal for the Note 3. The largest file the bootsamsung.qmg varies based on the number of images that are compiled. I tend to maximize this file as I want the best performance and play time, rather than a shorter play with continuous and inconsistent loops. The bigger the better. A perfect example look at the new ARC Reactors and compare to the new Marvel - Thor boot animation. The ARC loops- smaller file, the Marvel- does not, larger file (maxed) highest quality. Check it out. Enjoy!

Okay so I have a general idea what I'm doing. I read your post followed everything like you said.
The shutdown.qmg file works every time. Its great
But I can't get the boot animation to load on startup. I've set the permissions. Checked to make sure everything was named properly and in the correct folder.
I am on stock rooted ROM with stock kernel. I no longer have any boot screen.. Not that I mind not seeing t mobile start up screen.. Just unable to even revert back to normal boot screen. Really not in the mood to factory reset. Will fix permissions work?

If the shutdown.qmg is in working order, then it sounds like you are following the steps, properly.
The area that most get stuck on is they already have a prior bootanimation.zip folder that is already installed in their system/media folder. With these QMG Bootanimation, they will not run if there is a bootanimation.zip file in the same folder. See pic below.
Try removing the bootanimation.zip file from your system/media folder (either move to the SD Card or Delete.) Then reboot the device or as others have done a battery pull, whichever is easiest. Once, device reboots then go back in to system/media folder and make sure the QMG Boot Animations are set to rw-r-r (I recommend using the "T" which is the sticky special permission as it holds the boot animation the longest without interruptions.) Then go ahead and watch the QMG Boot Animation play away or download more, find a fav or let me know what you want to see next. :good:

There was a prior bootanimation.zip folder in the media section of the system folder but I had removed it as your instructions had previously stated. I have done a search using "root browser" and the only files that come up with the words "boot" in it are bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg files youve instructed me to put into the media folder in the system file.
The permissions has been set properly to rw-r-r but the only permission i am not allowed to set onto any file is the "T" or "sticky" permission. everything else looks to be exactly how you described it I have tried to mix and match both the startup and the shutdown from different boot animations.. and still only luck i get is with the shutdown animations.
Any other ideas?
these will def.come in handy

@DustinD1986 (try out the below, if still having issues it might be the stock ROM, I tend to recommend Custom ROM's) :good:
This happens to be a good work-around for those that are having issues getting the Boot Animations to work. The link below happens to be a clean replacement media file. I came across an issue with a Note 3 Sprint KitKat ROM which had some unnecessary QMG files in it had been, preventing others’ from installing and running the QMG Boot Animations from this thread. This replacement media file has been a perfect replacement, I’ll add to the OP shortly.
media file download link
Anyhow, the work-around is to download the "media" file, which this one does not contain any working boot animation or shutdown or PowerOn.ogg files in it, once it is downloaded I suggest adding your favorite Boot Animation QMG file from this thread-> qmg files go to the media folder and the PowerOn.ogg goes to the media/audio/ui folder, once complete move this "media" file to your SD card. Then go into your device, go into / system and remove the existing "media" file (move it somewhere to your SD card.) Take the new media file and paste it or move it to the / system file set the permissions to rwxr-xr-x, then open the media folder, check to make sure all files are set to the permission of rw-r-r and that all folders are set to rwxr-xr-x, once this is all done go ahead and reboot, if the device does not reload properly do a battery pull and all should be good. :good:

#Note: Normally the BootSamsungLoop is Reserved for the Carrier to input their Logo Boot Animation to play with the Samsung Logo. Since, this is a non-carrier Boot Animation the BootSamsungLoop is blank just a black screen. I have inserted below the BootSamsungLoop from the KitKat “Easter Egg” that will play after the Samsung Galaxy S5 Boot Animation. Enjoy!

I finally made the time to put together an Aroma of a handful of my own creations along with some of my favorites! You will have the ability to enable custom Boot Animations for those running stock Roms. This mod will also install the ever so difficult to create "qmg" shutdowns! For the people running the newest Missing Link, you've seen most, but not all of what is here. Added a couple of boots and shutdowns.
New version added support to many newer Samsung devices running MM Only!

The mod enables the use of "Custom ZIP" animations instead of the QMG animations giving you a much larger selection, even beyond this mod!! If you want to go back to QMG animations, simply just use a file manager with root access and navigate to system/media and delete the "bootanimation.zip" then reboot. Done, you will be back to the original QMG bootanimation your rom had prior to running this mod. Enjoy!!

THE QUICK GUIDE TO CREATING YOUR OWN BOOT ANIMATIONS"because I can feed you fish and you're good for the night or teach you to fish and you'll be good forever!!"
I have enjoyed boot animations since I started messing around with phones. I finally felt comfortable enough to start making my own and this is how i did it:
1 - First is you need an animation such as a video clip or gif whatever. I personally like them to be less than 30 seconds with the main focal part about 10 secs. By that time the phone has started up.
2 - then you need to extract the frames/convert using infanview or similar app, to image format, jpg is smaller, png is better quality and some just plain look better this way. Using Irfanview in the "options" menu click "extract all frames" then you can fine tune using "file" menu "batch conversion/rename" option
3 - download Boot Animation Factory and thank the dev for such a great tool for previewing and creating Boot Animations. From there the app will take you to creating the bootanimation.zip file needed for your phone.
4 - Then it's just a matter of getting it to where it needs to be. You can check my thread here which gives all the the different locations for various phones store the file for manual installs. There is also the "flashable zips" and "the Aroma Installer" for multiple options!
5 - last thing is to give thanks and credit where it's due and share your wonderful new creations with all of us here on XDA!!! Thank you
that is a very quick run down of how I am making Boot Animations today
*****BOOT ANIMATIONS PREVIEWS*****
This is set of boot animations I have either created or collected from all creative minds here at XDA.
The flashable zips are confirmed ONLY for Sprint's (Galaxy S2) E4GT right now!! testers welcome? Should be compatible with Samsung device's that use "bootsamsung.qmg" and "bootsamsungloop.qmg" files stored in /system/media. Just get the flashable.zip files here and flash via recovery
This link will get you to my original post with directions for installs, downloads for previews, bootanimation.zip files and flashable zips (these are made to support Samsung qmg bootanimation)
Direct downloads here for manual install of bootanimation.zip file
Previews here
Flashable zips here
These are made to support Samsung "qmg" bootanimations, specifically for the device I am on E4GT (Sprint's S2). IT'S UNTESTED ON ANY OTHER PHONES!! IF ANYONE WITH A SAMSUNG PHONE THAT HAS THE "QMG" LOCKED BOOT WOULD TEST LET ME KNOW THAT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
I have to thank all of the XDA community for these animation and support over the years!!! Please enjoy

Enjoy!!
Can i use this boot animation if I'm on a rooted ROM.. Just want to make sure. Thanks

That is actually a requirement. Rooted with custom recovery like TWRP to run the installer.
I might also refer you to this project.
It has all the same options plus a lot more. Things like, debloating, Kernels, launchers, cameras, user apps, Viper4Android, 3minit battery installer/remover, splash screens, TWRP themes and even more.
All the options available in the zip are Universal for for most roms.
As ALWAYS, make a NANDROID before flashing new items to your phone.
Enjoy

Anyone using this on marshmallow?
I have version 3 and I'm on marshmallow. I can't see the boot up but the rest works like the splash screen and shutdown.

AROMA BOOT/SHUTDOWN ANIMATION PICKER!! OVER 40 BOOT, 26 SHUTDOWN ANIMATIONS and 45 BOOT SPLASH IMAGES TO PICK FROM

UPDATE: First off thank you to everyone for the support and patience. I know the v1 had some "double option choices" and a few animations didn't work. I have went through and tested further and confirm they work now. I also added a couple more choices. I still need to work on the "previews" for some of them, about half are done right now. If the previews aren't available to view during recovery they are most likely available in the OP. Again thank you for your patience!!

Anyone try this mod on s7e?
Edit: Confirmed does not work because of size.
Not sure what the pic size requirements are for s7e?
I have made some Boot Logos for Motorola phones and would like to share them with the community.
Although the project was initially for Moto G5 Plus (Potter), I have made all versions with the text motorola on the boot images.
Features :
N/A hidden
Redesigned bootloader menu
Some other minor changes in boot logo images
These Boot Logos can also be flashed to other Motorola Devices with 1080X1920 screen resolution like:
Moto G4
Moto G4 Plus
Moto G5
Moto G5s
Moto G5s Plus
Moto X4
Moto Z2 Play
Other Motorola phone users may use the version of the boot logo with motorola written on the image instead of moto g5 plus.
Use VX.0_BL_9-3_by_4 Zip for Moto G5 Plus.
Use VX.1_BL_9-3_by_4 Zip for other Motorola devices.
The file names with DT at the end stand for Boot Logos suited for Dark Theme.
All Boot Logos have been posted on SOURCEFORGE and more would be added in the coming future. The designs have been separated into two folders and further organized inside each folder by version numbers starting with V1. All the zips are functionally the same and you can flash whichever version you like. The only difference is in the text shown on the Boot Logo image. Head down for viewing previews and downloading the boot logos.
How to Install (via Custom Recovery)
Download the desired ZIP file to your phone
Boot to your Custom Recovery
Go to Install
Go to the location where you have saved the ZIP file
Install the ZIP file and reboot
How to Install (via Fastboot)
Download the desired ZIP file to your PC
Extract logo.bin from the zip file into your adb folder on your PC
Boot to Fastboot
Enter these commands in adb: fastboot flash logo logo.bin
Reboot
Boot Logo Previews
Boot Logo Downloads
If you are unable to download from SOURCEFORGE on your phone, request desktop site from your browser menu to enable download.

What problem are you facing? Are you trying to install via custom recovery or fastboot?
The post and the entire catalogue of boot logos have been updated for some minor revisions. Please try again and post back here.

correct the v5 logo, look at the word "key"
If you could correct the v5 logo, look at the word "key" in the phrase id: bad key. right next to the white sail on the lighthouse. you could enlarge the boat and make it white or just extend the sail to the left a little :fingers-crossed:

You must be using a stock ROM and hence the ID: Bad Key being displayed (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74554386&postcount=6)
Flashing any custom ROM will display N/A instead and the boot logos I made are for those running custom ROMs
Almost all boot logos in the forum are made to hide N/A only. Sorry for not mentioning in the post.
