I am looking for a Xoom case with a hand strap on the back that will allow you to more securely hold the Xoom with one hand. I have started using my Xoom at work for things like inventory and notes and would like to find a case like this.
http://www.zoogue.com/products/XOOM-Case-Genius-Black-Leather-.html
should be exactly what your looking for.
I was looking for the exact same thing, for our company's bin-stocking program at customer sites.
Looked at the Zoogue (Velcro strap for a $600 device? No thanks), and the Otterbox strap that they claim will work with the Xoom (reviews claim it slips off the IPad, not dropping the money to test it myself.)
Haven't seen anything promising yet. I'm sure someone will come up with one, but until then, I've just slapped an Incipio Silicrylic case on it. Already had it slip off the cart and onto the concrete with zero damage.
We should email these people: http://thehandstand.com/
wish someone would duplicate the ipad one, really simple and easy, all i need is a sewing needle
Otterbox has one

I'm looking for a durable and strong case and holster combo. I work for a police department and need one for my duty belt that won't let the phone fall out if I'm involved in a foot chase, also needs to be strong in case I'm involved in a fight
What can you recommend?a lot of my coworkers have old droid and they have really good cases that come with strong holsters but they're unbranded

Very noble career if I must say so myself (I'm a 7-year law enforcement vet myself). I purchased a Shell/Holster Combo from cheapdroids.com yesterday. It's the closest thing that I've found to reasonible so far. I've seen similar OEM's on ebay for $50. I spoke to cust service there and they stated that the X only fits in the holster when the shell is attached to the back. This brings the total width of the phone to about even with the hump. I really only purchased it because I'm intending on replacing the ipod with this phone and wanted a good holster for jogging.
I'm guessing this isn't going to work for you though. There's no way that belt clip is going to be big enough or strong enough to stay on a duty belt. Personally I just carry the phone in my shirt pocket. It's slim enough where it's never going to be seen and I've already had to run with it in there; it's stays put.
I'd say the chances of it breaking in a scrap are just as good there as on your belt.
I too am a police officer and bought the stock case from verizon. I would not use it though on my duty belt. The case is strong enough and secure. But if you wear a 3" belt like I do then the clip is not going to actually fit around the bottom. It will only slide on.
IMO no holster is secure enough for working on the road. Brides I don't know about ur department but ours will not reimburse you over 100.00 for any personally owned equipment broken on the line of duty.
Having said that, take a look at sedio cases, they are about the most secure.

If Otterbox comes out with one, get that. A friend of mine has one of their cases and it's bulletproof. Luckily I don't work the road anymore, so my holster works just fine.
GOOD NEWS: otterbox just put up a coming soon for the DX. Although there has been one of those for the dinc for like 3 months. Can't wait to get it though.

For your requirements I would consider a skin from seidio (they are in development now) and then take the X to a leather worker and have a holster made. They will be able to ensure a solid fit and do the basket weave to blend with your service belt. That is if you are using the leather duty belt.
Went head and bought one that they sell at verizon wireless for $30
I\The shell only protects the back of the phone, and you put the screen facing inwards on the holster.
It works, it fits really tight so the phone is not going to fly out, however the spring clip feels kind of weak when attached to the duty belt, but if t\it was to fall off, nothing would happen to the phone as it is very rugged when in the holster.
Let us know how it holds up in a tussle. =)
But seriously be careful out there and thank you for your service.
First time poster...
Been looking for a case/holster also. GO TO BB, they have 3 EXCELLENT leather holsters for our Xs, 1 made by Eddie Bauer, $21, the other by HTC $31 and I forgot the 3rd. I went to Verizon and tried their origional X holdster and it looked too "bulky." Very disaponting. But those 3 cases I mentioned at BB, they fit very snug and perfectly. Im going for the HTC case later today and post pics up. Def worth the trip to BB. Oh, and the clip is very sturdy on all of them but def dont know if it will go over the utility belt...
Has anyone found one that works with the cardock? The Motorola dock that verizon sells has an insert that pulls out that allows you to put the phone in still in the case. However I checked both verizon and motorola's website and can't find a case that motorola says will work with the dock. I bought a case that covers the back and slides into the holster from verizon (probably the same one sp1kez bought), but when trying to put the phone in the dock after removing the insert it hits on a tab that looks like it was intentionally put there to only allow using an "official" case with the dock.
Has anyone seen one that will fit yet ?
The leather, clip on your belt style (yes, I know, old school).
I really need the protection at work, I'm a contractor.
It's just too bulky of a phone to put in a pants pocket and it will stretch out a shirt badly if you try the shirt pocket.
Amzer has them. Anyone have any experience with their products?
http://www.amzer.com/Samsung/Samsung-Vibrant-T959-accessories.htm
I don't see one with a belt clip, those all appear to be just wallets.
I have no experience with thier goods, in fact never heard of the site before you posted about it.
I contacted "Otter case" to ask about them possibly making one (Otter makes outstanding cases).

Thx Sugarmouth.
That is what I am looking for....but no offense, that one is a bit tacky to my tastes.
I'll probably end up getting a Body Glove or a Otter defender when they hit the market.
But, untill then, I am going to hit up Tandy Leather today and get some *stuff* to make my own

We do not have any information if a case will be made at this time for that device, but it is something that has been requested. I have submitted a product suggestion on your behalf, and recommend keeping an eye on our website, as it will have the most up to date information on any new releases that we may have.

You can try the Leather Belt Clip case for a Droid X available at most Verizon stores. It will fit your Vibrant perfectly when placed in the T-Mobile Gel Skin...
I personally use a leather case I found on ebay a while ago. It was for a G1 and my Vibrant fits just fine in it. The g1 isn't as wide, but is thicker so it more or less makes up for the difference. Not to mention I used to use my G1.
I tried to find you one quick on ebay to give you an idea, but I kept finding them with magnetic opposed to snaps or velcro. I know the magnetic ones used to drive the compus bokers on the G1 so I figured why wouldn't it drive the Vibrant bonkers.

I just bought my Xoom two days ago and still need to find a case for it. I hear that the portfolio case scratches the tablet and can't charge unless it is open, so that is out. The highly recommended otterbox is just way too massive for my taste, regardless of the protection it provides. I don't want one that relies on Velcro to stand it up. Ideally, all of the ports need to be accessible and I want it to protect both the front and back. Something like this iPad case. www .alltouchtablet. com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/ipad-case.jpg
Trident has a case coming very soon that will be the best bet. I have the portfolio case and the gel case. The portfolio never scratched mine. Most of the time I keep mine in the gel skin because it can be used with the dock. I was looking at the otterbox to but decided to wait for the trident case. I have one on my G2X and i love it.

After looking at several cases, I went with the Motorola portfolio despite its flaws. To address these (case scratching and charging) I used a razor knife to remove the two small plastic tabs on the lower section of the case back and I added a charging hole. The removal of the tabs was suggested in another thread and it was a great idea. For access to the charging port, I heated a nut driver on the stove and used it to melt a hole about 3/8-inch diameter where the charging port is. Melting gave me clean edges and the size allows the charging plug to fit completely into the port.
I've used this case for almost 2 months now, with these minor mods, and I'm really pretty happy with it. I've not seen anything else which has made me want to change.
Best wishes,
Ross

This is what I decided to go with after crawling the internet for answers for a couple of hours. It should be delivered today and I can't wait to try it out.
I also went with the Incipio, I had the Moto Portfolio for 2 months, I liked it at first but grew to hate it. I didn't mind opening it to charge as much, but It was just akward to hold the device with the flap folded. I ended up always taking off the case when I used the Xoom.

This is the case I'm going with as well. Thanks, didn't know about it. Not liking the folio case.
I still think the original portfolio has the best functions. But I decided against it because of the comments on scratches.
So out comes this. Same look and function as the official portfolio but it's leather with microfibre lining. And it's freaking cheap now. Get it while you can.
I have had my zooge case now for a couple of months and am very happy with it. yes it uses the velcro but I am not sure what you are scared about with it.

This case looks to be the exact same as the Verizon Xoom leather portfolio case that sells for $30 more but is black lined instead of tan. I have the Verizon version all black and to charge in stand requires folding down front flap and dropping flap behind charger unit before placing in charger.

I have a few cases for my GS3 and only have one with a belt clip (Otterbox Defender). I'm looking for a case, maybe even a leather wallet case, that has a belt clip somehow already attached to the case itself. Anyone come across one or know of anywhere I could find one??
Please help... Thanks! :fingers-crossed:
I like the Large Nite Ize Sideways case when my GSIII is naked or wearing a slim case. The velcro closure is secure but noisy, and the clip is slim and just pliable enough to minimize the effect of having a near tablet strapped to your waist. Around here REI carries them for ~$13.
I appreciate the responses guys.. I really do.. :highfive:
...Although, what I'm really searching for would be one of a kind. You guys post links to simple leather pouches or cases that slide out from a seperate belt clip. What I really want to find is a case that combines the two (nothing seperated). I want a case that has the belt clip feature embedded into the case itself.
Is what I'm asking for make sense or even economical? Thanks again..
Try the rokbed case. there's a thread here for it.
:good: There we go! That's as close as we're gonna get to what I'm describing! Thanks bro :highfive:
And for others who are still curious of what I was looking for.. rokform.com/cart/Galaxy-S3-Cases/
Any one else still know of any other options thats just like the rokform case? Please post!
if you search amazon for "samsung s3 clip" you'll get a few results to choose from. $45 is a bit much for a case..
what's your budget?
Go to bestbuy and they have yge platinum series xase for like 35$ it a case with belt clip

Budget isn't really a concern as of right now.. I just want to see what's out there first then make a decision then.
Remember this post is only about a case with a clip attached to the case itself. Not one with a separate belt clip! I can find a million of those!!

Try PDair.com, they've got a neat set of belt clip cases for GS3
I've been quite tempted to get one of those RokForm cases. They may be expensive, but they have a great design to them. Somehow i find the addition of the magnet to the back of the case to be quite interesting and potentially very useful. Though i doubt it would really help with NFC use.... i don't really ever use NFC, so that wouldn't really bother me. Still.... $45 IS quite a lot for a case.
read Amazon belt clip reviews
I was going to order the v3 until I read the Amazon belt clip reviews (since it's sold separately these reviews are only on the belt clip not the case itself), about 10 or 11 out of 13 are negative for various reasons. Shame because I need a belt clip case that allows the screen to face outward and very, very few cases that offer a reasonable amount of protection do that. After now spending over 20 hours online researching for one I am all ears for anybody's suggestions. I have dismissed the Otterbox Defender & Griffin Survivor because I use anti fingerprint screen protectors and their built in screen protectors really load up with fingerprint smudges. Only case I've found so far is the aluminum Monaco and it has the exact features I want but I'm trying to get some user feedback from those with aluminum cases as I've read they can effect the phone radio and GPS.
In essence, I'd like to find and order a case immediately and move on with my life..........lol

Have you thought about going with the Griffin or Otterbox Defender and the using an "exacto" knife to remove the plastic covering they come with? I use my Otterbox all the time with the screen out, and even though I have the stock screen cover on it because I work part time at an ice rink and don't want the extra moisture exposure that would come with doing this. However, I did it to my wife's Skyrocket Defender case and she loved it when she was running because it was both outward facing and still in a super-secure clip / case.

I was going to order the Otterbox Defender last night until I viewed Otter's website and 29 of 46 reviewers stated they would not recommend it to a friend. There were many complaints about the rubber outer case coming lose after 2-3 months and various other complaints. Many stated they were longtime Otter users and were very disappointed in the overall quality. Also, on another forum a user stated you can't effectively remove the built in screen protector because there isn't a way to remove the adhesive residue. I was going to live with the fingerprint smudges until I watched a You Tube Griffin Survivor review tonight and I'm thinking you'd have the same adhesive residue issues trying to remove its screen. I honestly can not believe I'm having this much difficulty finding a screen outward facing belt clip case. My Captivate has a Body Armor case that is exactly what I want in terms of protection and features but most unfortunately Body Glove does not offer the same case for the S3.
I'm going to start a new thread asking for suggestions, thanks for your reply.

i removed the screen protector on my defender. The glue is more like cling u just pull and it comes off clean. But i would consider the ballistic sg maxx over the defender. Im gonna order it soon.
I watched a You Tube review of the Ballistic SG Maxx and most unfortunately it is a screen facing inward case only. There's a sticker stating that on the holster. That is a fine looking case and I'd buy one tonight if it were screen outward. If I can't find an outward facing one (and after all the research I've done am thinking I won't find one) I will probably buy either the Seidio Active Extended if it fits my Akron car dock and if not the Ballistic.

I'm a sales rep at a Verizon store, one of our customers came in with this weird gadget on the back of their phone. I asked them about it and apparently they invented it. To make a long story short I'm currently testing it out for them and one of it's features is a belt clip, or rather a pocket clip that works with some belts too. The advantage is that it can turn almost any case into a belt/pocket clip without ruining the case. I'm not supposed give out too much information about the product but it's really wicked cool and should be out sometime next "year" they say.
That's a solution I'd be interested in! Could you find out a better eta from the people you got it from and possibly post a pic of what it looks like.. Thanks!

I was originally going to get myself an Otter box for my N7, but after looking at the price tag, and finding out it doesn't have a built in kickstand, I've had second thoughts. (Yes it has a kickstand, in the form of a clip on backing piece, similar to the belt clip for phones, but it has a kickstand instead of a belt clip.)
I'm looking for a somewhat bulky folio case that can give my N7 some protection if I happen to drop it from a small height, like 3-4 feet for example.
I'm actually on my second nexus atm because I had my first one in the wrong pocket when I went out for a bike ride, went around a corner and my tablet went flying. Needless to say I was pissed having only owned it for 4 days at the time, but I just went back to best buy and got the protection plan on it, then went back again a week later and got it replaced.
I'm not looking for a case that will protect my nexus from being thrown from my motorcycle again, because I have no intention of letting that happen again. But I'd still like a folio case that can offer SOME protection from your everyday short fall. Preferably looking for a folio case that's somewhat cushiony to help protect it from these situations.
Why don't you get a sleeve? I got the the poetic case.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I'm using the poetic case and it's pretty nice. The magnets keep it closed tightly. You could get it and then a padded sleeve to put it in when transporting, that's what I do.
Never trust pockets on a bike motorized or not. You're asking to lose stuff. Check out a pelican case if you're concerned with dropping it at speed. It'll survive. Also invest in a tank bag. Icon makes a really good one.
