Just curious if anybody else has this problem when they receive picture text messages. id say 8 out of 10 i receive come through and say failed. then i have to keep hitting the download button until it finally downloads. I always just chalk it up to sprints ****ty service. Is there anything that can be changed to stop this from happening? thanks
+1 I have this same issue. It is annoying. It has happened across different ROMs so I don't think it is ROM specific

No problem, Running Manilla carbon fiber rom, HW 0004 just flashed newest radios and wimax netarchy kernel. 3.30.651.3
But its done it before rooting and flashing roms. Its done it since day one. Im sure it has to be a sprint issue I was just curious if anybody else has this or knows a way to fix it. It is annoying as hell

Is auto receive on, and is data roaming on? Also when does it not download meaning are you at home or out and about
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
data roaming is on and auto retrieve is on. It does it anywhere. I can be home, in the mall, at work it doesnt matter. Theres no rhyme or reason to it but it does only do it with pics not regular texts.
Also, It does it regardless of signal. I have constant 4g at home and most places and it does it off or on 4g

Are you aware of the updated radio as Dec 17?? Also base 3.70
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah I saw those but ive heard of people having problems with the new pri and certain roms and kernels. Thats the only reason i havent updated that. And I didnt want to update to the 3.70 unless I had to cause it seems like a pain since im rooted already.
Well Ive updated to new radios and wimax and its still happens but I have found one fix so far that works. When I get a message that doesnt come through if i go into task killer and kill the "messages" and "message uploader" process then try to download the message it will then come through. Hopefully this can help someone else too.
Running one of the latest CM7 nightlies (#77 I think) on my i9000M. Updated to the latest Skype a few days ago, and now every time I attempt to log in I get this error message "Please re-install Skype." I tried reinstalling Skype from scratch, to no avail. What up with this?
Yeah, this happened in many ROMs and firmwares, not only on your CM7...I dont know why, even is newest original Skype or modded...Some bug ?
Regards
Same problem, wiping data/reinstalling didn't work.
Vibrant running CM7.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I am having the same issue on my Samsung Vibrant running CM7.

EDIT.
So after tinkering a bit it turns out that i was in fact entering my password wrong and was not able to sign in at all. Now i have been able to sign in the last 2 times, but the 3rd time i got the reinstall warning and the 4th time i was able to sign in... Weird.
Hahaa can't really see anything.
Damn, that's the only thing skype writes..
W/com.skype.cp( 3232): skypekit crashed during sign in, its beyond the normal process now

Just found this little bug out and wondering if anyone knows how to fix it or has the same problem. Every works fine except for when I dial *2. It automatically say theres an error with com.android.phone and has to force close it. Anyone have and Ideas?
Nevermind there is nothing wrong with it. Just have to install the sprint_promotion.apk
i think i have heard somewhere that you have to reinstall sprint zone for that to work again.

DISCLAIMER FOR ANYONE ELSE
I have Credo Mobile, A MVNO that leases through Sprint. Fix though is below in thread.
Alright, so I'm not sure when this happened but I know it happened a few months ago, and it wasn't any roms problem. I am able to receive picture messages, but am unable to send any. I've searched and was unable to locate a solution to my woes, so maybe the wonderful community has an answer for me? I'd love to be able to send pics once more

Which version are you on? There actually was a reported issue in the stock rom at one point.

What is your current build? (Rom, kernel, etc.)
What have you changed?
Have you edited any settings via dial codes?
How do you know it wasn't a rom change?
Are you reading these questions?
Have you talked to Sprint at all on this?

I'm on FH13 now, but my last official build was... GB29 if I'm not mistaken. Been so long on custom (done right) roms. right now, I'm on Blu Kuban latest release.

I have changed from stock to custom, funked around with a few different roms, from AOKP and an all black one (can't remember which) then to the Blu Kuban for a while now.
I think I did touch something in the dial codes. But for the life of me I can't even remember why I would have in the beginning
I guess I don't know if it was rom related or not.
I am lol
and I haven't cause I know the problem doesn't lie there. Have to expend all of my available options before I call them.
Also, I'm not 'techically' Sprint, but Credo Mobile. This company leases service from Sprint.
There's the problem - you're on an MVNO.
1) Go to phone and enter ##DATA# (##3282#)
2) Go to Edit and enter MSL
3) Go to Others and then MMSC URL
4) Change from mms.sprintpcs.com to mms.plspictures.com
This should restore MMS.
I don't follow, what caused that? You identified it rather readily.
Upon trying to edit in the phone code ##DATA#
I'm prompted to enter a MSL and only given numbers.

MVNOs don't use the same server as Sprint to send MMS messages.
The default for MVNOs (like mine, KDDI Mobile) is plspictures.com instead of sprintpcs.com
There are exceptions to the rule but this is most likely the same for you.
To get your MSL download Terminal Emulator and do the following (case senstive)
1) su
2) getprop ril.MSL
This should produce a 6 digit code - this is your MSL. Also should solve your current problem.
Yusssssssss!
So stoked, you my friend, are a savior and a genius! I don't care what no one says about ya lol. I thought it would be something uber simple cause of my weird carrier. What would have went and changed that might you reckon? Cause it did work at one point in time.
And I used another app, Get my MSL. 2nd one down from the top after I market searched 'MSL' worked fairly easy had me do this:
1. Open app
2. Touch 'Get my MSL' button

The one I know that will do it are the full restore one click packages. I've tested the nodata versions on the missus' phone and it seems to hold. Can't say for custom ROMs but likely you'll have to change after flashing.
Glad that fixed it for you!

I did use one of those in my history, well before I settled on this beauty. It'll be one of the things I'll have to bear in mind. I did update but then I restored back, I messed something up. I'll check to see if it does funk with the picture messaging with the flashing of a new rom.
That was literally the one downfall I had, now I'm rip roaring ready to go!

I have a stock SG4 Phone and every time I go to send a message or type in the keyboard, I get this notification to select an input method.. I was wondering if anyone else got this, and if so, does anyone know how to make it go away? Its not like a pop up or anything, but its just as annoying.. Any help would be great, thanks!

I don't find it annoying at all, I actually like it. It allows you to change input types with going all the way through the settings.
