Could be a temporary glitch with the cell towers/network? Do you have any other phones to test the signal?

I just did s-off and got root with the revolution.
I installed latest Virtuous Unity but now my phone does not see my network. I tried different sim cards. I installed another version (2.35) of Virtuous Unity and here is the same problem. I had to restore the default verizone android OS and there is no network problem: the phone sees the network and sim card. Please help me.
Sorry for my english.
Are you in America on cdma? If not some of the roms don't support gsm for the world phone feature, I don't know if your particular Rom does or not because I haven't used it but that may be the problem.

My wife's incredible, is rooted and has CM7 and I have a new inc 2 unfortunetly with HBOOT 98 but whats annoying is i live downtown in my city... whats annoying is I've 1 bar sometimes NO bars (still 3G just no bars) of service with verizon, I'm going to try and call them tomorrow and figure why my wife and I have lost what used to be great service to.. we're getting random dropped calls. If its a ploy to get people on a 4G network thats fine ill sit on the phone and talk to who ever i need to, to send me a 4G equivilent phone because I'm paying for service that I'm just not getting

I'm from Russia
I know some guys from russian community who used VU and say that fw support gsm. I don't know what I do wrong. Maybe it because I have incorrect s-off and root? (Revolutionary clockwork 4 + superuser.apk)
Hey guys,
So i'm new to owning Samsung galaxy phones. I do really like my phone alot, the only downfall so far with is my signal us HORRIBLE! I had the evo and evo 3d and my signal wasnt to bad. The I bought the iPhone and had good signal but since i'm a sprint customer I had extremely slow internet. Found out how to make my iPhone run on Verizon signal and was fast. Well I got bored with it and got this. (sorry for long story, at work and bored). So anyways is there a way to help my signal. All my phones besides this one had full signal at my house this phone only gets about 4 bars and it seems like my wifi reciever is weak to, hardly picks up my wifi at home. Id really appreciate the help,
Thanks

Hmmm....that's interesting. Other than slow 3G and spotty 4G service in my area, I've never had signal problems and definitely no problems picking up WIFI at home. In fact, I normally connect to my WIFI before I even pull into the driveway at home.
In regards to phone signal, have you tried updating your PRL in settings?
I just got it on Friday and the prl updated its self, haven't tried recently. Is there ways to reprogram the radio. I've had both my evos rooted, I understood flashing roms, but never understood when it said something about radios.

So I believe someone in my building has a sprint airave which is destroying my signal and causing my phone to drop texts and calls. I was wondering if they make a app that I can tell my phone to connect to certain towers so it disregards the airave. Or if anyone knows anyway I can go around this.

This is very frustrating and any help would be great
hmm i wonder if this is my problem??
I too have noticed since last week my phone signal has gone to crap in my apartment. ive been flashing stock GB and ICS roms.. modems.. even rolling back PRLs.
i can not figure out why my bedroom now gets a crappy signal the past week or so. last thing I did was go from GB rom to ICS rom.. saw the crappy signal, and restored back to my GB rom.. but the problem has persisted.

Not sure. I'm almost positive there is a Airave/Airvana in my apartment building. I am actually on boost mobile on my Epic 4g. It is blocking my calls/texts. Didn't know if there was anyway to flash a PRL so boost can roam or if I can block the Airave somehow.

Yeah I downloaded that and I honestly didn't get the point of the app other than to tell me where the tower was. It would be useful if I could click the tower and connect to it. When I had Sprint before I switched to Boost I could roam with a program called roam control but with boost it wont let me.
I eventually unlocked my AT&T SGS3 and switched to T-Mobile with a friend. I noticed often times i'll be in the same spot, and my phone with go from 4g to E in a matter of seconds, then keeps switching back and forth. My friend who switched with me has the Galaxy Note 2 from AT&T and we'll be in the same car and his phone will be on 4g, while i'll be stuck on Edge with no internet. I'm wondering if I flashed my modem to something else, if I were to get better reception. Or perhaps a newer ROM with better T-Mobile radios? I'm running the newest Cyanogen with the I747UCDLK3 Modem. I would appreciate any help! Thanks.

You can try different modems for your carrier (start with latest). There's a modem sticky thread.
One thing though, T-mobile is known to have bad 4G coverage and they're currently upgrading their towers so if your phone connects to a tower that doesn't have 4G yet, you connection will drop.

I do change my modem whenever there's a update to try it. Usually with better results than the last one.
I'm with Rogers though, so can't try it for T-Mobile. It's something to test as I can't know which one will work best in your area and on your device.

Erm, sorry to burst your bubble. This phone's GSM radio doesn't support 3g nor 4g bands in the US. Other countries, it can use some 3G bands though. Any rom will give you the full US GSM potential of this phone.... Edge :'(
