I have been running Gengersense B4 without any major issues other than the posted known issues (screen brightness & no 4G), which I was able to live with.
Today I went flash crazy and updated all my radios to the versions released with the OTA update, and everything was still working fine. The last thing I did was flash the stand alone kernel which was included in the OTA update yesterday.
The good news is that the new kernel fixed the brightness issue with the rom.
The bad news is that my wifi now just says "error".
Anyone have any ideas?
Nevermind...downloaded the stock kernel. The non-stock version fixed the brightness and didn't break wifi.

With the leaked Froyo built is this happening to anybody else
No not that I know off, make sure you're running the latest radio, that is the one ending in .07.28.
With the updated radio both WiFi and 3g works better on 2.2
BTW if you are still running the leaked 2.2 why not just flash the official rooted updated one.

I did have this problem with the leaked 2.2, but I was screwing around with the cdma settings and roaming settings, I flashed official froyo release then radio and wimax, all three files from the netarchy official froyo post, poof 3g issues went by by
yea i hope the new RUU fixed thanks for the advice
I appologize if this has been already answered. I did search around and couldnt find any threads related to this.
Does anyone know if the Midnight ROM has corrected the data connectivity issues that are present in the stock froyo build from samsung/sprint.

I am using the ROM and haven't experienced any issues what so ever.
Thanks.
I am currently running the stock froyo build from the Samsung site. Rooted and CW2 installed. Notice the problem when I am roaming using roam control. Data connectivity is intermittent. Hoping a custom rom is the way to go.
I am a little reluctant to go to the ext4 format. Will this prevent me from upgrading "official" froyo updates as they become availabe?

If you're running a custom rom then OTA updates will not come automatically.
Like when official froyo came out. After a few days the devs here had a tar file that included root and recovery. So using odin; i used that to get to the latest version provided by sprint (plus the extras I needed to run custom roms)
Then flashed my fav eb13 rom (eb13 being the version of official froyo from sprint for epic)
smooth sailing; as long as you read and familiarize before you just jump in. You'll know what to -not- do and what to do if something funky happens.
Good lock and happy romming!!
i am running midnight rom 4.1 and have no issues. if you are having issues i would suggest redoing it, not uncommon to have issues every now and then.
two of my INCs are experiencing this same WIFI issues. The signal is dropped every once in a while, and it the phone won't reconnect. I know that the Cyano builds have issues with wifi and there were some work arounds ( like updating the wifi files in roms ), but they were for different phones, so I am affraid to try it on my inc.
have anyone found solution for this problem ?
Does this happen on all wifi networks, or just your own?
all wifi networks. Also the "sleep mode wifi off" is turned off. There are numerous threads about issues with the WIFI on cyano builds, so I know it is not an isolated issue.. I just don't know if there is a fix for it ( for the inc )
Have you tried flashing a different radio or kernel? It may help to do so.
no I haven't.. I never messed with radios or kernels. I just flash to a rom that is available to download. My current Kernel is [email protected] #3 and the radio is 2.15.00.07.28.
are there any other version that you would recommend ?

Your radio is quite old I would try updating it to 2.15.10.07.07. As for the kernel I am not familiar with CM so im not sure what its based on or if it requires that kernel to run. You may want to ask arround the cm forums if their are other working kernels.
Title = Question.
The closest I got was the MIUI ROM that's up on the front page of the development forum right now. It was so close to working. It said "No SIM Card" but the calls worked!! And the -36 baseband was recognized! The only problem was that with that status message, the phone would not allow me to save any APN settings, therefore I could not get data access.
I also tried it with the -42 baseband. These should be the newest AT&T specific basebands available that are AT&T specific.
The real problem is, I can install 62 just fine, but it only supports the slower HSPA data speeds as these are for the R800i.
I don't really expect a solution but I thought I'd ask

Thanks! Do you use a specific CM9 build?
Also, which baseband do you use?
Do you have the call volume problems that many CM9 builds have? What about your proximity sensor?

I run FXP127 which I beleive was released fairly recently, Video does not work... ALTHOUGH if after installation you flash the Mjolnir4 Kernel and the modules (wont get wifi if you dont install the modules) the video works fine... the only problems I am having is the proximity sensor (just realized that today) as long as you dont leave the number pad up and close it when you dont need it, it doesnt bother me much. I am however going to research a fix for it this weekend.
baseband -62 It runs at the same speed as with at&t's newest BB I flashed back and forth from stock to CM9 ran speed test results are identical

Thanks again. The proximity sensor is one of those really tricky things. I don't mind Bluetooth audio not working, and other minor things like that. Video does have to work for me.
Actually I never had a problem with a non-working proximity sensor, except for Skype handling it very poorly. So I basically need it to work.
I have gotten all ICS roms that I've tried working on my AT&T play 4G(lol 4g). On some I may manually set the APN. I've tried KA11-14 Rom, Xdarkmario's Rom in .42 & .62 Firmware with Doomkernel ICS beta v.3, & CM9(can't remember which build) with CM's Kernel & recommended FW. I haven't tested for differences in speeds(data), but I got the H signal on all.
Edit** In NY area I hear that the. 42 FW with -56 baseband gets better call reception & less drops then newer .62 fw.

Hello everyone,
I'm posting on here because I can't find any solution to my dilemma which I am sure that other people in the AOSPA legacy community have also experienced. I have been using Paranoid Android on my T989 since the 4.4.3 update and I have regularly updated my roms since then. Somehow ever since I updated my phone to 4.5 beta 3, something prevents me from being able to hear or be heard during regular phone calls around an hour after I restart my phone.
I have tried everything to try to make my phone back to normal, I have updated my versions of AOSPA, I have downgraded to stable versions, I have gone to a debloated stock rom (which worked perfectly fine but who likes touchwiz android 4.1.2?) and back to AOSPA, I tried the latest Carbon nightly rom and the problem persisted, I have wiped my internal memory, cache, davlik, etc. multiple times. I am at a total loss as to what I should do to fix this issue. I'm currently running it on 4.6 beta 1 and I still have the issue.
I really love my GS2 and I don't want to part with it or have it running stock. Please help me.
I really appreciate it,
Chris
I've had the same issue , I was running the latest liquid smooth rom . I just flashed back to stock using Odin and all is fine on the stock rom . I just rooted again and am hesitant to install another kitkat rom for fear of this calling issue ........ Anyone else with this problem ?

I am also getting this problem on Slim 7.8....must be an audio-caf issue....Can someone go back to an old KK rom (one from earlier months) and see if they experience the same issue? Preferably cyanogenmod
I flashed to stock rom via oden and spent the weekend with the phone and all was good , I flashed to the latest cm-11 with no addons , stock cm-11 kernal and after an hour or so I lost call audio again . We must have done something to the phone in a previous rom cause not many people are having this issue . Now I have flashed about 75 different roms with no issue , I hope someone finds the problem cause I'm not to keen on the stock rom !
I've seen posted that snapchat was the cause of the no call audio problem we are having , I flashed the latest liquid smooth rom last night , download all my apps that I usually do except snapchat and I've had no issues with the calling bug . All is working great .
