Updated to 4.22.651.2 rooted, and now I can't get to recovery or bootloader! I power down the phone and then hold the power button and volume down and nothing happens! When I release the power button it boots instantly! Whats going on?????
SD no functioning.... I think
Either turn off fastboot in settings-applications
or
hold down the power button and instead of power off, use reboot and start holding down vol down as soon as the screen turns off.

I have a T-Mobile G2 and just received the OTA Gingerbread update last night.
I don't know if its because of my phone or because of Gingerbread but I can't do the three finger salute (Power + Trackpad + Volume down) to restart my phone anymore.
Is there a new combination to restart the phone?
Restart your phone? When its off press the power button a few seconds.
Are you talking about booting into hboot? If so press volume(down) and power till the screen comes up.
If that's not what you mean you need to word your questions better

I don't know how I can reword my question any better.
But lets try.
Everything is stock and not rooted to avoid confusion.
Before Gingerbread update.
Pushing the Power button + Volume Down button + Trackpad button allowed me to do a soft reset of the phone.
Now with Gingerbread on my phone, that combination of keys doesn't work anymore.
Now I'm wondering if there is a different combination to achieve this task other than holding the power button and turning phone off and on.
Volume down, camera, and power. Reboot system.

That didn't work.
Did you try Vol up instead of Vol Down ? Normally anyone of the combinations should work(not only reboot, but anything like usb-mode or so)
Just recently my power button stopped working. I pushed the button to use my phone and it did nothing. For about five minutes pressing the power button did nothing. I had to press and hold up and power button to restart. Is working fine now but What I would like to know is why did this happen? How can I prevent something like this occurring?

I've noticed mine has done the same thing a couple of times since I've gotten it. In my case I think the phone hot boots, maybe you have the same case

Same issue but no case and it wasn't hot. I think it might be software related. Waiting a few minutes and holding the button for 30 seconds finally allowed it to boot.

I've experienced this just once with the same result. Power button + volume up resolved it.
I had same issue pre-root and vol up and power fixed the issue. No power button issue since.

hold the power button at the same time as holding volume up button.... hold both for a few seconds might take as long as 8 seconds
will put you in fastboot mode....(if it doesnt go into fastboot that way can hold power button until screen turns off then quickly hold volume up until fastboot comes on)
once in fastboot tap volume down twice (slowly allow a slight pause between presses) then pres the powere button and you will be in recovery

I can't even get my phone to the fastboot screen. Ive held down vol up and power. Vol down and power. All 3. I'm really at a loss. Any ideas before I just get a replacement? Also, my headphone jack has seemed to stop working along with my power button.

hello everyone,
Whats the easy way to manually go to Recovery Mode?
i tried vol up and power together but nothing shows up except a blinking color home button.
Do i need to press the home button?
Thanks

Press vol up and power until the lg logo and the boot error message (that appears on top left corner) come up, release power button but keep holding vol up until cwm appears.

I have E988, and usually what i do to be able to get into recovery would be pressing both power and volume up button at the same time till the first LG logo appears and disappears. Then I release the power button, after which I do combinations of <2 down button presses then press the power button>, up until after the second LG logo appears and disappears, then recovery finally shows up. However I'm not sure about stock recovery though as i have cwm

Its kinda confusing. I tried your method but I only get a black screen and a blinking LED home button when I press the vol down and power together.
My M9 is stuck booting up on CM13, and its been there for more than twenty minutes. How do i turn it off so I can get into recovery? I've tried holding the power button for 2 minutes, and even tried holding the power button and volume down for 2 minutes but nothing is working. Do i just leave it until the battery dies?
Edit: It happened while updating the SuperSU binaries through TWRP
Try holding down power button and both volume buttons together, when it starts rebooting keep hold of the volume down button, that should take you to recovery.
Volume up and power will force a reboot

This is how I remember it: Volume Up + Power and then Volume Down + Power
I only remember it because I've needed to do it so many times
