[Q] Netflix No longer playing on new OTA update? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Running the Stock Odexed ROM of Gingerbread that came out today and Netflix loads and shows my movies but will not play them.. doesnt give an error message.

Netflix does not currently support any Gingerbread Sense ROMs, wait for Netflix to update their app.

I used the OTA update to the official gingerbread from Sprint. Didn't like it and went back to CM7. Now Netflix is not working. Went to the market and it said my device is not supported. Do need to wait as well for them to update the app?
Thank you.
It was working on CM7 before the update.

I had a similar issue and netflix told me my account my be deactivated. I'm wondering if netflix is just updating their app to be compatible with all the updating going on and downwards.

update apps like qik/voice mail

anyone know the reason why I cant auto update these things on custom roms? tried several roms but none allow me to update, just the stock rooted ota 2.2 allows me to.
I don't know if this will help you, but I had a similar issue with not being to update other programs. I found that it was because the program was running in the background, so I did a force close on those programs and it worked fine.
thats weird, it did not work for me...I cant install the extra widgets either..i'm currently using bakedSnack 1.5...love the rom though
im on fresh 3.2, sucessfully updated voice, qik and sprint tv.

Google Play Hanging at 100%

Hi everyone,
I have a GNex running 4.1.1 via the OTA Upgrade from 4.0.4. I am rooted, but running the stock google rom and kernel. My dilemna is that ever since I upgraded to JB, when updating apps, it'll download to 100% and sit there. I have to force stop the app, then as soon as I jump back into the play store, it updates my app. Would reinstalling the gApps help does anyone think? I really don't want to do a factory reset... Any ideas from anyone? Thanks!

Hi i have an Samsung Galaxy S Blaze and i was having trouble with the Play store to the apps will get to 100% when updating but wouldn't complete and i searched around and actually found this thread while searching lol but i found out that if you uninstall the updates to the Play store like when i did it it went back to 3.47 and when i tried updating all my apps again it worked just fine so it looks like it's a Google Play issue not your phone
So you can try that hopefully it works but it looks Google Play store updates automatically which i don't know how to stop but like the link says to try out AppBrain App Market which i am trying to set up now

[Q] Can't get latest Netflix

Just installed CyanogenMod 10.1.2 on my Sprint Epic 4G along with the latest gapps - 20130301.
I downloaded Netflix from the Play Store mutliple times and I keep getting a version with the old interface even though it says I have version 2.4.0. The Chromecast button is missing. Chromecast youtube works fine. How can I get the latest version of Netflix with Chromecast?
After installing Netflix did you try running the Chromecast app again?
Yup, I did a whole lot of deleting/re-installing. It looks like someone on the forum tackled this. I am going to try this solution when I get home. Seems like the Netflix App checks to see which device you are running and gives you the corresponding version of Netflix. So the trick is to change the build prop and make it think you're running a more current device. I'll report back when I try it...

Some apps outdated

I have a T999 running stock rooted uvmd5 and some apps, specifically skype and google search won't update to newest version. If I uninstall and then search for skype on the google store, it tells me the version is 4.0.0.22082. I have access to another S3 running stock uvmd5 but not rooted and the skype version that's available is 4.3. So far it's only these two apps that seems to be outdated. Every other app updates just fine. I didn't change anything in build.prop to make my device look like another. Anyone have a idea why it's behaving like this? Whats the version of skype do you guys see?

Google does rollouts for their updates. I just got the Gmail one today that was available to others last week, and I don't have the Google Now update that was released at approximately the same time as the Gmail update. You can get them from android police (the Google updates).

Doesn't that just apply for google apps? If a third party updates their app, shouldn't everyone be able to see i? The play store on my rooted S3 tells me the Skype version number is 4.0.0.22082 and was updated on Sept 24. Another S3 tells me it's version 4.3 and was also updated on Sept 24.

Maybe, maybe not. Though it's a third party app, Google still serves you the updates.

Have you done a "Wipe Data" on the Play Store App and then rebooted and tried to update again?

Yes. Only thing that worked was to change the account under Play. Even then I got some "app already available" error but it eventually updated.

Remove all Google accounts, reboot, readd.

Netflix apk request

Looking for Netflix version 1.1.0 to sideload on my fire tv. This is the only version I can get to work without downloading the newest. Any help is appreciated.
It is available here. http://www.amazon.com/Netflix/dp/B00FLJ1CFM
The problem with this app is, it will ask you to update to the latest version which is 1.1.1 build 125
Is it possible to sideload Netflix apk version 1.1.1 build 125 to FireTV which has software version 51.1.1.0_user_511070220?
I have issues to update the FireTV's software (and Netflix app too), I followed AFTnews guide, but updating allways keeps frozing to startup screen (FireTV logo on black screen). I tried to downgrade to 51.1.0.2_user_510058520 and also removed DNS blocking and tried to update to the newest OTA software, but allways the same frozen startup screen. I can continue to use FireTV after that by removing power plug, and then I'm back to original software. My FireTV is rooted, but there is no additional recovery software installed.
The reason I want to update Netflix app, is that when starting to watch Netflix it loads for a while, and then I got this error message "can't load, try something else" etc.
