Hey everyone! I Just got my 1400 "sido" batteries in the mail off ebay. There's nothing written on the actual battery that states how many mah it has, is there a way to verify that it really is a 1400? it looks like the exact same size as my oem 1120 htc touch dual battery, and fits EXACTLY. They're the same size.
Do you know of any way to verify or test the mAh? Thanks!

well...the easy way to test it is to get a baseline from your old 1120mAh battery, say its at 50% after 2 hours with the backlight on and nothing else running, then you put your new one in there and do the same....all variables aside it should take longer to get to 50% than the original battery.
your old battery has probably already lost alot of charge capacity though...
Can you supply me a link on the batteries you ordered on ebay because I 'm not able to find 1400 mah batteries for the touch dual.

only way you can test is to do a flat out run on your phone and time it... i believe there are some battery timer applications/freeware available, do a search on them...
if your battery doesn't specificy the mah, then i would think that you got jipped, sorry to say
theres a lot of scams going on ebay, i wouldn't buy from there, i would buy from a retail site that is reliable even though it may cost some extra money, you won't be getting bent over

In my experience, a 24-48 hr charge [or 4 high-duty cycles] is required to hit the miaximum capacity of the new battery.
Well I tested them after using them each for one week. One battery was 1400 (well, like 1380ish hehe). And the other one was under 1000 . I wrote the ebay dude, and he said that he'll give me about 2 dollars back, if I don't want to send them BOTH back to get a refund. I paid 12 bucks. One's great, the others ... not... He won't let me send one. ... Me Angry!...
Here's two batteries from Mugen Powers, a 1800mAh and 3600 mAh. From my understanding, The 1800mAh will work with the original stock battery cover. And of course the 3600mAh, has the bulkier build. Here's some links for those interested.

Let us know how it works out. I'm curious if there are any heat issues associated with the larger-capacity battery.
I just bought the 1800mAh, but it will be shipped in 10 days and will take 10 more to arrive!

Mugen is one of the best second party manufacturer for batteries! It's really quality, no Hongkong Crap.

OEM batteries is the only option unless the battery is inbuilt. Why are people so gullible? The manufactures always uses the best cells for their phones as it is part of the features present, i.e. long talk/standby time.
I have a HD2 and bought two original batteries which were not from Ebay.

maybe its because the people who know they are no good are so patronising when they are saying such. Not everyone has knowledge of these things and not everyone has had experience of this before but thats no reason to talk down to them. Its logical that these batteries should be better, after all they are rated 400mah higher, if thats not the case then you cannot blame the person who buys it thinking it is.
After market batteries is not a new phenomena and people buying such batteries should have learned by others which have made those mistakes before. It does not matter if it says Mugen or whatever on the battery.
I bought a battery for SE P1 on Ebay for 3 GBP and the picture was showing the retail package. When I received the package it was a "Walkman" branded when P1 is a business phone. I filled a complaint and received my money back. I would never do it without PayPal covering the full amount. I knew it from the beginning, if it sounds to good to be true it is not.

no, but what about somebody doesnt know anything about battery tech, or somebody who simply bought their phone from and o2 shop and has never had experience of other people buying aftermarket batteries? how are they supposed to know?
i came into this thread asking questions because to me it seems a little too good too be true, i know very little about battery tech but i do know a fair bit about other areas. other people, even those on this site may not have the slightest clue other than 1800 is more than 1400 and to talk down to them because of this is very unfair.

Mugen makes horrible batteries and have a long history of such incidents such as the ones above.
£26+ for 400mAh more - seems a bit steep IMO.
Better to buy a second genuine BST-41 from SE - seen them for the same money all over the place:

Not true. The P1 battery from Ebay did have a hologram but when comparing against the original battery there was a visible difference.
Mugen 3600 mAh battery
I got my 3600mAh battery on Friday and it works great! 5% drain an hour even with heavy useage. I can go the whole day without charging and still have 30% before I go to bed, beats the OG battery which I had to charge 2 times a day which sucked...
I'm personally a bit skeptical to 3rd party batteries, but I would like to have a 3600mha battery, the added thickness is not a problem. But as far as I know there only available battery from Sony is the stock 1500mha battery?

My original 1500mAh battery was dead by 3.30-4pm after taking it off charge at 8.30am and that was with moderate use. Its been dead by 2pm before now.
Got my 1800mAh Mugen battery and i can take it off charge at 8.30am and have it still on 40% at 5pm after heavy use during my lunch hour.
It does work much better
Saw an eBay auction for the Mugen battery set up by "Mugen Battery".
Read the lower lines and they want to add 19% VAT after the sale is completed to all EU buyers by sending you a separate bill for the VAT (totally against eBay rules)!

I agree. I've been using the Mugen 1800mAg battery and it lasts all day without a charge. I even use moxier on direct push for work email.

Yeah the android system doesn't really care, it measures the battery in percentages.
I've got a cheapo 2000mAH that I picked up for my Hero, it lasts a little longer than the OEM battery. I do notice a difference. When my phones battery is low, I can tell what battery is in it without opening it, just because I know how long I've been off the charger.
They're cheap. You can also find a deal for 2 1500 mAH batteries and a wall charger for $10. I went with that..
I'm buying one because they are red lol.. j/k well for $10 more than the China seller, you get "300mAH" more and this guy is in California so shipping should not take close to a month
I was expecting to be able to offer him $10, but he has that set on auto reject so I just went with the 2x 1500 mAh for $10.
I wonder what brand these batteries actually are? If they are just rebranded Mugen's, then according to batteryboss.org they are worse than OEM 1500mAh.

not quite sure what you mean, but ultimately yes, they are all from china. I just thought it was a good deal, but too bad it wasnt shipping from somewhere in the US. I'm not too thrilled to order things from across the world.
I bought the 2x plus charger for $10...They seem to be holding up pretty well, maybe a bit shorter life than the stock one, but if you have three batteries and can rotate through 2 of them while keeping one on the charger, you'll never have to plug your phone in again...I would say BUY BUY BUY, for the price, you can't go wrong, it's worth the standalone charger with a built in usb port.
I am using the 10$ 2x1500ma with the charger... free shipping too. I have only been using one of the Chinese batteries, they are great, they last about, or maybe a little less. I just put the real and the spare one in my wallet... so beast.
I doubt those things are even 1800mAh, they are probably the same 2x1500+Wall Charger $10 deal just a different color/sticker. Its the same exact charger and same exact sticker thats on the 1500mAh ones just it says 1800mAh and the battery color is red.
I purchased the $10 2x1500mAh + Wall Charger bundle about a week ago and have been putting them through their paces ever since, they have been fine for me. About the same as an oem battery, maybe a tiny tiny bit less but nothing really noticeable unless you have OCD like me lol.

I know the OP has already purchased the 2x 1500 mah batteries, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents for anyone else thinking about batteries.
I bought the 2x 1500 mah batteries plus charger too. I don't see any difference between them and the OEM battery. I actually do wish they were red so I could use them if I buy the clear battery door that's being discussed in another thread, but not enough to spend twice as much.
We just did a week-long vacation and I bought six batteries for my wife and me to share (coming from the iPhone I went a little crazy). We often switched a battery while out all day, but the only time I needed to use three was when we flew back -- which was a 15 hour ordeal due to a canceled flight. Thank god I had all the battery power I could need without having to resort to $75 external battery packs.
I also bought two of the 1500 mAH batteries, and they seem to work fine. I haven't really noticed much of a difference between the cheap ones and the OEM battery.

shipping for each was free, and i received both items within a week, in excellent condition. both the battery & charger work great. i have read many reviews about the seidio extended battery, and i don't think it is worth $50 (plus another $5-8 for a charger)
That's about right for the charger. But if you aren't in a hurry, you can get 3 batteries and a wall charger here for $12.
It just takes 2-3 weeks to get here. I used them (same type) for my DInc and already have a set for my Bolt and they work the same as stock.
i saw lots of multiple battery deals on ebay, but i don't trust cheap knockoffs. i got a cheap generic battery for my nexus one and it lasted about 2/3 as long the stock battery

Cheap battery: $2.75 (ish)
By your 2/3 estimate, you would pay up to $12.67 for a knock off battery, so by buying these cheap knock-offs, you are saving almost $10 for each battery.
perhaps so, but i wanted a battery that would last at least as long as the stock battery. i didn't want my phone to get low during the day, replace it with the knockoff, and wake up late for work the next day because the knockoff died during the night. i value having a single, consistent OEM battery more than getting a group of low capacity batteries at the lowest possible price
if you are better served with multiple cheap knockoff batteries, then by all means get what suits you best. i just wanted to share my ebay experience with anyone looking for a reliable seller of OEM batteries, because there are tons of shysters selling worthless crap online

Oh, you mean capacity wise? I find mine to be right on par with the stock battery. I thought you meant that they'll die in 9 months rather than a year (which I am fine with).

i bought generic ones off ebay for my gf's droidx. a week later the phone ran extremely hot on generic's. i'm guessing the chip in the generic batteries didn't work.
i paid full retail for my phone, im not going to try to save a few bucks on something as essential as a battery. $20 for something that will power your phone for another 10 hours EVERYDAY? worth it.

$95+ now... I asked a question to see if it's a typo or not. (I basically asked what makes his $90 more valuable than other ones on eBay...)
I got a charger, but mine came from Hong Kong and took about 20 days to get to me. I wouldn't have cared to pay a couple of extra bucks to get one in 2 days instead, but $90 bucks is a different story!

i noticed that both of these sellers are located in brooklyn, ny... seems like a verrry odd coincidence that both of the sellers you recommended are located in the same borough (the usa is a huge place!). also seemed strange that you linked to the sellers' profiles, instead of the actual items.
so tell us, are you the seller? or are you just friends with the person who runs both of these ebay accounts?
either way, i bought em both. mainly because i live in brooklyn too, so the shipping shouldn't take too long.

Just to follow-up here. I bought one of this guy's batteries and am not happy with what I got. I believe it's not an OEM battery but a counterfeit battery (the void sticker is wrong, and other things aren't identical to my OEM battery). Additionally, it's somewhat defective. Once it hits ~30%, it dies and cannot power the phone any longer. I've gone on multiple charge cycles now and it's predictable that my phone will just randomly die somewhere between 30-34% battery left. If I try to turn it back on, it doesn't even attempt. After charging it for ~30-45 seconds, then I'm able to turn it back on and it immediately reports ~30-34% battery but will die if I pull the charger off of it. It's fine between 35%-100% though.
All-in-all, I have pretty much paid $20 for a mostly-useless battery. I've sent the guy a message - we'll see if he fixes the situation. But at this time, I definitely cannot recommend this guy and, in fact, I somewhat dis-recommend him. I see absolutely no reason to go with him over the $9 for 2 batteries + charger people.

They've responded to me and are offering either a replacement or a refund. Of course I have to ship the defective one back on my own dime (that's not right imo - if they ship me a defective product, it should be their dime that fixes the problem).
So they're at least doing most of what they should do in this scenario. Not a "bad" buyer in all regards, but bad in that 1) they sent me a counterfeit product while claiming it's OEM and 2) they won't cover return shipping the defective/counterfeit product that they sent me. I'll never shop with them again but rather than advising others to not shop with them, I'll simply advise them that the one product I bought from them was a counterfeit while it was advertised as OEM, so be informed if you buy from them.
EDIT:
I noticed in their return policy that they say they'll charge a 15% restocking fee for any refunded item. I asked and they will NOT be charging me this fee. So they're doing right in this aspect.
Has anyone tried these? I mean, they dont cost a lot so they probably suck but as a spare they probably can give you some extra juice.

i always buy a couple of really cheap generic batteries when i get a new phone, many people will say the the capacity is extremely exaggerated but it's never that far off and some people will also say that you risk your battery exploding which it just as likely as the stock battery exploding. so i would recommend buying one or two, they come in handy and also pick up a battery charger so you don't have to change batteries just to charge batteries.
Speaking of keeping some spare batteries, does anybody know of like a case or container to keep a battery in while say in a coat pocket? That way the leads on the battery (and the battery itself for that matter) dont get damaged while in the pocket for an extended period of time?
I bought something similar for a previous DROID, it was like half the price of a Verizon Extended Battery and it basically got half the uptime. So I mean, you get what you pay for.
