Hello, what does Recovery 3e and e2 mean?
Can I download the 2 files, replace them on my mobile and then use GoLauncher? I assume that the notification bar from your theme will be used. As per the screenshots, it seem the battery icon has 1% reading, please confirm.
Thanks.

Sorry for too many questions. Actually I meant that the screenshot shows battery reading 92%, which means that it shows battery reading in increments of 1% instead of increments of 20% which is the case in some other themes.
I am new to this and didn't understand all the explanation but if I understand correctly I9003 has some old recovery mode. When this phone gets a new mode (when will it get this?), the files can be updated in some other (update.zip, whatever it means) way instead of copying them to root folder, is that right?
Anyway, if I just go ahead and replace the 2 files posted by you, can I use GoLauncher also? And what if I want to revery back to original?
Sorry again for questions that may be sounding silly.

Hello,
First of all i want to say, that i'm not the idea-maker (lol) of this mod and not the creator of this theme. Behind them are some great people - be sure to see credits below!
Standard note :
I'm not responsible for bricking your device (tho it's not possible if you follow the simple instructions) or other sh%# like not getting princess in super mario.

I've seen some posts asking about removing the damn clock from status bar in gingerbread. I've searched and find out it's possible and kinda simple. So i did it
Below you can see the results, and below them you got instructions and download.
This mod is for deodexed JVH only! Flash it over JVO/JVB/JVK etc, or not deodexed JVH, and you got a bootloop ready.
Tested only on GT-i9000.
Theme is only modded for "no-clock", and few icons:
- WiFi icons / signal icons / battery icons
ZIP's are for CWM3.

Ok, lets go:
1. Backup your files!
FOLDER: system/app
-MediaProvider.apk
-Settings.apk
-SystemUI.apk
FOLDER: system/framework
-android.policy.jar
-framework.jar
-framework-res.apk
2. Be sure to copy both flash files to your storage. The "no-clock" and the original theme! If something goes wrong you can always get back to recovery by using the 3-buttons combo and flash original theme. Please keep that in mind!
3. Go to recovery and choose "install zip from sdcard". Then tap "choose zip from sdcard", and navigate to 'XWJVH_Gingerbread_v6.1-noclockmod.zip'. Flash it.
4. Go back in recovery and reboot device. Voila!
BEWARE! - First boot is long - even 5min. It's normal, don't panic!

Great Gingerbread theme that i used here is by ock - be sure to click "THANKS" in his thread. I'm really sorry that I don't ask him for permission Hope he forgive me
I would not be able to compile all of this is, if it wasn't for Paul627g and his post in Epic 4G farm here on XDA-dev's. Great job finding that mate!
For screenshot credits click on it.
If someone want to see it in other samsungs GB based rom just notify dev's about it, or... do it yourself!
In Paul627g post theres a short but very good tutorial on how to disable status bar clock. From me one tip: to properly decompile "SystemUI.apk" we need "twframework-res.apk". And thats it. Good luck!
This small work is my first step to my own new theme for GB. Hope to see you soon in other thread
Looks interesting, and fun. Trying now!
Love the status bar and theme! Great work!! =D
A theme for making clock-widget usefull ? =p
Why not, I should try it, but just for fun because I like the litle clock in top-right corner ^^

2 ways to do this:
-Add things needed by following instructions in an documentation. (I couldn't find one)
or
-adding my mods to valid KG3-APM files (I couldn't find one)
If you find a mod that has APM AND is for KG3 or an documentation, I could take a look.

Just remember that at this time you cannot smali --> baksmali framework.odex. That will make stock browser lag ( loses hw acceleration )
APM can be done by calling com/android/internal/app/ShutdownThread;->reboot from android.policy
See here

After trying to add this to my mod for a couple of hours I surrender now, I followed the guide step by step,(Well I had some problems with de/o dex-whatever-ing that android.policy file) but menu is still the same! If anyone has the time to add APM, he can.

Can't do upgrade at this time to VR 2.3 to check Does this mod work on VillainROM 2.3?
S-MOD should work on every rom that is based on STOCK KG3, but you may lose some features of that rom.
What do you mean loosing some features?...
If the ROM developer added as an example custom animations or a battery mod you may loose these things cause their files are going to be replaced by S-MOD Files which may not have these "things"

Update 1 is ready! Added some tweaks and battery mod version. (Take a look at first post) Tell me what you would like to have, what you don't like and have fun!
First of all, nice mod! But unfortunately the 3G icon isn't green (H and Wifi works perfect). I have used S-MOD Update 1. More people with this problem?
For those - like me - who find life a little less without the battery % icon, I came across an app that overlays the battery display with the % icon instead. Works fine with ICS.
http://www.androidzoom.com/android_themes/themes/battery-changer_bragu.html
For ICS you need to use the settings to specify android 4 and set the icon size (28 x 28 works for me) and position on the screen using the manual setting. For me, the pixel settings as follows work fine:
Horizontal 0-9 = 2
Horizontal 10-23 = 385
Rotate Horizontal 0-9 = 0
ROtate Horizontal 10-23 = 709
Vertical = 20
Bear in mind the icon overlays the status bar icon and is fixed so if you use full screen, its still there.
Or you could just flash this in CWM and you're done!

Another alternative (on the app front) is Quicker. Also fills in the gaps currently on the status bar toggles, and power widget.

Yes, only CM9
I decided that the current icons in ROMs showing battery percentage were way too blurry as they are the qHD versions. I decided to use the Sense 4.0 stock icons to generate a new set. Here they are, these are just the icons and they should be pushed to /system/app/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi/

Oh they are amazing! I think all of the roms must use these icons. Thanks
thanks very much!
Due to the tedious process of pushing one by one, I've made a .bat to do it for you.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73556022/battery_install.zip
Unzip the icons, put the .bat into the folder where you've got the icons located and run!
Sorry to be such a noob but can i replace these on my stock rooted 1.28 and, if so, can somebody explain to me the easiest way of doing it.
I don't see why not, It appears to have worked for me. Easiest way to do it is download the icons, unzip them, get the .bat I made and put that in the same folder as the icons, then run the .bat.
EDIT: After pushing them to the phone, it appears they haven't loaded. After pushing, I rebooted but I see no change to the battery status icon.
EDIT 2: Tried pushing just with the .zip, still no change to the stock battery icon.

Will this actual work by just replacing the icons?
ie From past experience on other devices, the battery will not display in 1% increments without further adjustments to the apk.

No, in most cases it wont!
Here is the complete working SystemUI.apk. It works only with a rooted rom (1.28.401.9).
Push it to /system/app/ (it is no update.zip!!!), restart the phone.
Do a backup first.

Hmm, have you got also the 100 charging_animation icons, the full and the unknown icon? I'd make a complete working 100% battery mod out of them. Been looking for better quality stock icons since some time. The animation in your systemUI is from circle-battery mod.

You can download a mod with these icons for 1.29 on my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588789
Here is a copy of my customized status bar.. basically a replacement systemui.apk
Copy to /system/app using root explorer .. change permissions to rw r r
If it reboots first you can change permission after next boot.
Change.
Transparent bar on home screen, black on others.
1% battery mod with multi color clear battery icons (I didnt create any icons got them other places)
Blue signal bars (red for 1 bar, blue for 2 3 and 4) (Still trying to figure out how to change to 5 signal bars).
blue icons for bluetooth, wifi, airplance, etc. etc.
New vibrate and no sound icons.
After reboot you can remove the systemui.odex file as it is no longer needed.
RECOMMEND you make a copy of these files first Sytemui.apk and systemui.odex to your sd card, In this way if the copy fails you can copy them back to system with difficulty between popups of systemui has failed messages.
THIS has only been tested on stock Tmobile MDL firmware..
If there is enought interest i will create a .zip to flash and flash back to normal..

Won't cause a brick just a boot loop or probably a force close. But actually updating it like that might work so long as the signatures match.

I'm not sure the signatures would match. becuase there were xml changes to add 1% battery mod i had to decompile and recompile it in apkmanager. Anyway I have never seen a systemui installed that way work. It would put another copy in user apps and leave the one in system just like when you update a system app such as maps (which I always remove the system apps.. not sure why rom builders put those in as whenver you update to newer versions it just wastes space is system).
