hi everyone.. after almost 3 years HTC experience, finally got a Samsung it`s obviously far better in many aspects which is certainly why i choose sgs2.. but...
there are many thngs i get used to in HTCs, especially widgets for almost everything.. like fm radio, favorite people with their social accounts and even friendstream.. maybe you guys can help me to find equivalents for them.. i tried launcher pro for friendstream but it's not that.. now i'm trying socialjoggler but.. and for fm radio.. there's nothing yet..

launcher pro paid version will let you theme all the widgets exactly like sense. You basically cant tell the difference. paid version has all the same widgets.

Does anyone here think that its possible to get this rom ported to the Evo 4g. I mean all that would need to be fixed are the apk's and a little bit of touch ups here and there. Since the resolution matches the Evo's.

Toouchwiz is the only way you can get a decent launcher with 4 icons in the dock and the sms application is very good looking.
HOnestly only thing Touchwiz (Samsung Android Phones Period honestly) has that I wuld be interested in is the music player.
Outside of that, I'll pass.
But for those who like it, I think it would be awesome for them.
This is XDA, just about anything is possible!!!!

Hold on guys, I think Touchwiz 4.0 is something different. The live tiles, widgets, zoom effects, etc are pretty nifty. 4.0 looks nothing like Touchwiz on current Galaxy devices.

Touchwiz 4.0 doesn't look quite as bad.
It looks as if they have abandoned those dreadful taskbar icons? That would be a huge plus
Try ADW EX or Launch Pro. You can download different launch bars and add your icons as you wish. So TouchWuz isn't the only launcher that can handle 4 or more icons.

Dude TW 4 smokes those launchers. Check out the video. It's lots more than four icons in the launch bar.

Watched a couple of videos. I don't like it. At all. I like the phone though.
This should probably be moved to Q&A, nothing developmental about it.
LOL of course things are stolen from Sense. It's getting hard to find original ideas anymore but who DOESN'T steal ideas from other companies? And I told you guys TouchWiz 4.0 isn't bad; but we can all agree that the current TouchWiz is just garbage.

I think it was ported to the current generation Galaxy S phones and was still buggy. I would imagine it would be even more buggy on our phones..
Would definitely like to take it for a spin tho..
I can imagine there is one or two developers that would like to port this. May I suggest Virus or Sac23 (and teamwin). They are the big names when I think about porting things that shouldn't be on our phones.

EDIT: Oh also if you can find a system dump for the Galexy S 2 it would proably help with the porting progress.
I can't seem to find anything that compares. Colorize widget was the closest I could find, but it doesn't work spd shell 3d. Any alternatives that will work without using a common launcher?

I feel your pain, I had sense withdrawls when I first switched, then they went away but lately they have been coming again. With all the issues I've had with sprint and the lack of support from samsung, I think I'm going back to htc soon.
Anyways, enough of my rant, the closest I have found is the "android pro widgets", and it's free! It comes as a pack with a friendstream style widget, bookmark, calendar and even people widgets.
I really don't get why touchwiz comes with 7 screens and practically no widgets. HTC makes the only phone I have ever been able to create a nice layout using all screens and not have wasted space.
I miss feeds and updates widget that was on the first epic. Don't know why it's gone on the S2. If it's bcuz of social hub they could at least had added a widget for it!

If you're looking for 3rd party (truly) scrollable widgets for spb shell 3d you won't find any. The reason APW uses a scroll button is the lack of scrollable widget support in your used launcher.
I use APW on my view tablet with and it is awesome. Better than sense for sure. If you really want friendstream, switch to launcherpro plus instead of touchwiz. LPP is smooth as hell and the widgets are awesome.

I use android pro Widgets on this phone and the timeline widget is just like friend stream.

Yes use launcher pro!!! The widgets are crazy good like having a little bit of htc sense on this awesome sammy phone
Other options like what's been said is apw and plume is a awesome twitter app with great selection of widgets

I have installed miui and I am loving it.
Just one problem I miss the stock android news and weather widget. I have had a look in the market but can't seem to find a decent replacement.

I made a search myself like 2 weeks ago and I didn't find a single one to replace the not-so-great stock app.
Yeah I didn't think the stock app was that great either until I lost it lol.
I just love the news feeds as it seems to collect news from alot of sources, love the tech/science news feed

Well, I'm a newbie in Mods, flash and root in general, so I don't knoe if it's possible to create widgets for Flipboard.
I know that Flipboard only has one day in our Androids, but I use Flipboard two months ago in my iPad and I want to have the best experience is possible.
My idea is to have a widget with the lastest titulars for, for example, a section like news or gaming.

I have a htc one v and a galaxy tab 2 7" (GT-P113) and would like to know if there is any android app that can mimic the way sense 5 homescreen and lockscreen works on the new htc one, and just to be more specific I mean like the way you can see newsfeeds without widgets.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing?

The closest you'll get is flipboard or currents on JB, using daydreams, while you're charging. The rest of the android world hasn't caught up. Technically, YOU'RE probably the leading knowledge right now on this subject.

You can try the feedly widget. I use it on my device to quickly run through headlines from my home screen. It can be resized and still looks good. If you're looking for social feeds, look online to see how to generate a RSS of your fb/twitter feed and add them to feedly.
I have used pulse and flipboard, both do pretty good job.

So... I started making such an app, after i heard my phone won't get the update to Sense 5. (HTC ONE S)
The app itself is going to be a launcher, similair to Sense 5 with Blinkfeed. But i'm not going to add news feeds and rss, Only social networks will be included.
More details coming up

So.ho launcher hasn't been updated since December of 2013 so it is outdated. Also the benefit of having a launcher do what he is wanting as opposed to a widget is that it will look better. Exactly like what blinkfeed does. It is possible as HTC made sense 6 a launcher, so it is possible. And people don't ONLY want RSS feeds. I personally loved chameleon launcher but that was abandoned/sold.

I accidently froze/disabled HTC blinkfeed and now my phone will not load a Launcher. Can I flash the htc blinkfeed apk in recovery to fix this? I have a HTC Desire 816 running kitkat 4.4.2 and sense 6.0 (Stock)
