Hi all.......my girlfriend jus got an evo and wants me to root it.....wats the best Cyanogen mod rom out there?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
The latest cyanogen mod is the best..flash cm7 and you should be good to go buddy.

is it possible that when you say 'best CM7 rom out there' you really mean 'best gingerbread AOSP rom'?
CM7 would probably be the best gingerbread AOSP rom....
Best CM7? 7.0.3.1
Best AOSP? Either CM7 or Deck's ROM in my opinion.

I don't know at this time, but I would be just fine with the SMS package.
So there could possibly be portions of the port.
There is a feature in the EVO kitchen that has the ability to port. There is another ROM that has Touchwiz (EvoNonsense).
I agree with ya. It is awesome, I am using an EPIC, and with Viper's 3.0.3 ROM, I love it.
Thanx

There's a thread in the development section and I try to keep the OP updated with bugs and whatnot.
Does it make a difference what kernel I flash w which rom?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yes. Sense kernels only work with Sense ROMs and AOSP kernels only work with AOSP ROMs.
Ok. Cool. Thanks alot.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
no problem
Ok, so any idea which is a good kernel for kings unleashed ultra r2?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Any ideas?

Couldn't tell ya, I've been on MIUI since November. Don't know much about Sense kernels these days.

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I think he's on the latest version.

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

MIUI is awesome but I just replaced with sense because I had horrible battery life on MIUI (along with some other issues). How's your battery life ?

I'm actually still on 1.1.28. I was planning on updating today but I was too busy playing Uncharted 2. You do not need to flash an AOSP kernel first because one comes packaged with the ROM. All ROMs come packaged with kernels. If you don't like the one it comes with, you can flash a different one after flashing the ROM.
Whereabouts can I find an MIUI rom? I found one and downloaded it but it wasn't a zip file?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The link to the MIUI thread here on xda is in my sig.
Yea. Thays the one and when I downloaded it it was like a program not a zip file. Did I do something wrong?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It downloads as an exe file?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Where are you finding an .exe? The "download here" link takes you to the official MIUI release thread on miui-dev where you can download it. It is definitely a zip file. http://forums.miui-dev.com/showthread.php?2053
Ha. Im a retard man. Thnx

Ok, so I'm running the MIUI ROM and am having trouble checking my voicemail? Is this normal?
It seems like everyday there's more sense roms being made, I don't get what's so great about it? Its ugly, and hogs a lot of memory. Its hard to find a decent up to date gingebread rom
Sent From My G2 using XDA app
I felt that way at one point. But coredroid is now my favorite. Provides a lot of functionality that could be used more in other roms.
To each their own right...try learning how to build and make something yourself or at lest customize a rom you like
I'm trying but its hard to get help around here for that

When iceandfire or gingervillian updates their roms ill be happy but untill then :?
Sent From My G2 using XDA app
Not sure if you've tried, but RMK's Virtuous G-Lite is a stock(ish) GB ROM with which I am having zero issues with at the moment. I would say it's as close to AOSP as you can get with OC which just makes things better.
Since getting the DZ, i've only used RMK (and his teams) ROMs and i've loved each of them. G-Lite just comes out on top IMO.
Ehhh I like gingerbread and cyanogen mixes like xboarders and iceandfire and the like

Sent From My G2 using XDA app
.ud.com I think..just google "ultimate droid for tmobile g2" and you will get the site with the download. I believe 3.3.1 is the latest release
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
The ud site is down. But yeah, get it from the unlockr.com. I'm running it right now and its probably on par with pyromod. Id say a little faster.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 Ultimate Droid 3.3.0
why is it down? I was wondering why it wouldn't let me go to it.

Hey guys, I just picked up an evo yesterday, and am trying to figure out what are some good roms out there that have 4G working? Any good rom/kernel combos?
Also what are some roms that are small. I've noticed that some of them are pushing 200mb, and when I've got 300mb or so free, size is a factor, I don't care what she says!
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
if you want to use sense, try MikG or tommytomato classic rom. Aosp roms decks is the best.

It's weird coming to a new phone, nothing is familiar to me. It looks like there are a lot of old threads that aren't developing be are still staying alive. It gets a little confusing. Lol
Anything has to be better that touchwiz. I don't see MikG's anywhere.

Size really isn't a factor for many roms since most of them support dta2sd.
