Showaco, I are happy to bring you what will be one of the final installments of the weather panel. I have worked on testing this thing for a while. The new addition is the radar page to the forecast panel. This includes a new app that is included in the cab. It's called Weather Radar. It is located as your right soft key link. Just click it from your phone to set it up. This is a separate app that runs in our panel, but is not required to use the panel at all. I just included this, because it is frickin' sweet. Just input your location and it shows an updated radar image for your area that is updated by the NOAA every 6 minutes. Trust me, if you work outside for a living, this is a godsend.
Like I said, this weather radar app is not part of our weather update or any panels display properties or anything, it is simply a link to a separate (yet related) app. That's all.
With that being said. This radar page is pretty sweet. Follow the instructions below to make sure your clock weather, forecast panel, AND radar are setup properly, before you use this. Hope you enjoy, there are 4 wavs for you to check out as updated voice messages. There are 4 panel borders that you could display. You have an option for now forecast panel (lite version) and an option to display a forecast panel (full version).
Look at the 3rd url below, in it is a zip that you can use to replace your digits in your clock panel. The digits1 are the originals, the digits 2 are the HTC Diamond Font numbers. If you are curious as to what they look like, just search HTC Diamond. Luckybandit posted these, so thanks to him. In order to have these display, just rename either folder to digits and drop it in your \Program Files\Outerdepth\KPWeather folder. They will overwrite the ones you have, but don't worry, I have supplied you with both. They will not completely show up until the forecast panel update has run, so set your fupdate value to 1 in your reg, and then run the update. The location in your reg is HKLM Software\Outerdepth\KPWeather.
Lastly, we do have a banner, so you can also edit your banner's display text. It is located in the options menu as well. It will be displayed in the scrolling texts in your clock panel. ENJOY!!!!!

Instructions:
1. Download cab from link below.
2. Copy cab to smartphone. Using explorer or Total Commander, click on the
cab. It will install. If you have downloaded the cab before, don't
worry about uninstalling it, it will do all the work itself. That's it. All installations are done.
3. Go to your weather options and set them up. Do all of the options, if you want or expect all of the features to work!!
4. Run Weather Update. It will write your forecast panel and radar. That's it.

The thumbnails look great. I have a couple of questions:
1. Looks like you are using the fat panels. Is it possible to use just a fat panel for this, and slim panels for the rest of the panels?
2. Will you be posting a cab anytime soon that automates the installation?

1. In sliding panels, as of now, all panels must be same size, no exceptions. But if there is interest, it is possible to kinda create the illusion of different size panels using panel backgrounds.
2. We hope to have cab up in a few days.

To run the reg files, you need to use a reg editor, I use resco explorer which does a great job but there are others.
As for as radar, It is possible to use custom radar, but that isn't the way we were headed right now. But we will consider it.

The one thing I might like to add it that if you have any issues after uninstalling NRG's Chome Weather , where it gives a whie screen with an error unable to find weather.exe it's because it's still stuck in your notifications queue. Run Sktools and locate your notifications and find the offending notification and check it, then remove it. This will stop that error.
I'm only mentioning this in this thread as to warn others about this possible issue just avoid any confusion that by installing outerdepth's weather app, it does not cause this error.
Locked out of Messaging
After following your directions I am unable to acces messaging on my Dash and there is no weather. Please give more detail on step 4 on how to actually "Run" and reg file. Is it an import?
You're going to have to tell me where to edit the scrolling marquee stuff. I dont see where to customize it.
Nevermind: I found it.... for anyone who wants to know, you have to edit the KPWeather.mscr file in notepad or other text editing software and locate the txt8 value about a little past half way down the page and edit it. then overwite other original .mscr
Update: Where would i go to edit the Condensed Text in the forecast panel. I want to read something else besides CWeatherODSP
Nevermind on update: I figured out how to change the condensed text in forecast panel too.... i'm such an idiot sometimes... was an easy find.

For non weather related additions to text loop, it can be easily added in the loop.mscr as a regwritestring added to bottom of current list.

Awesome App
Congrats Outer & Showaco. It's a great app & it works flawlessly. Only suggestion I have is if it's possible to make this for normal panels (I use normal, not slim). I know it's very difficult to put that much of information on this size (and I must say the clock panel looks AWESOME) but my other panels look really fat with too large fonts.
Anyway it's just a suggestion. The app is really cool and I have to say thank you for all your hard work

I would at least appreciated a little statement that this is all possible because you're using my application But hey....

Will be done later tonight, thanks for the input. We will add a user text line that can be edited from options panel.
You may also want to edit the Title on the consensedtitle panel. It currently reads: CWeatherODSP .... which to me doesn't seem to descriptive. I personally changed it to read "7-Day Weather Extended Forecast". that seems a little more descriptive to me. Of course you can do whatever you want to it, but using the title i use or some other variation of what i use may be a little more descriptive.

Yeah! A Real Weather App
Great job guys and will be even better when you add the "Doppler Radar" with automatic updates. Please use the newly released "Doppler Radar" for smartphones and pocketPC devices, again guys, this is a super awesome job.................!
I really like Wisbar Advanced Desktop 2 and love how customizable it is. I have experience inc reating skins/themes for it but see there are a lot of poeple out therethat have done it for many other lower resolution devices. We need to have some folks do the same for wvga 480x800 devices.
Some of you have probably noticed other asking people to share cabs and such for themes that look like windows vista or OSX desktops and these were done with WAD2. OK that is probably enough examples to spar you interest. So who knows this stuff and wants to help this HD community get some of this going? There are some efforts over in the xperia forum working on 1 themes but all in all I don't see much at all going on and I personally do not understand why this isn't hotter than it is.

Thank you very much well after toying for it for just a half hour I have figured out a LOT of cool stuff. So far I have taken the theme you see above and added a second page which it transitions to with the swipe of finger to the right. n that page I added a link to a phone number which can have it dial or bring up the summary to select mobile, home, office etc. I see that as my contacts page. Wow i am excited about adding all kinds of pages now haha. For now I must stuff though and take my son to the movies then I am going to be up real late perfecting this. I hope others find this as fun as me and maybe we can become an authority in WAD2 skinning for the HD!!!

Yep, i'd like to try it. But i don't see this exact theme on lakeridge page: your one has only background different, and the instructions there lead to the same result? Since i really like the way you have disposed the page

I tried the WVGA theme you are currently running and like it very much, I think WAD2 has tons of potential, if only the WVGA theme didn't need to dPad to customise the screen positions ...
Maybe I am missing something, but every link I try to download this theme from i seem to get the VGA version (you can check in the files the background is 640 pixels in height). And when i try to install the theme the layout is completly distorted.
Anyone has an idea on this?

i connect my device to my pc and connect to it with mymobile. The arrow keys on your pc will then act as the dpad Am going to post what I have been able to accomplish in a bit
ok slowly figuring out this WAD2 thing. Here are my efforts in modding the theme shown on the first page. I added addition pages, all of which run really fast and all use finger gestures (swipe right a page, swipe left a different page, up addition pages similar to the one you're on etc etc)

well depends on what you want. I dont want TF3D so when I press the home key I can jsut go straight to the main today screen. You could also jsut install second today and put a widget on the desktop to it. kinda kimitless to whatyou can do with WAD2 as long as you are willing to put in the time to create it. im loving development with it
This is the obvious next step in designing themes which make the phone more usable and unique.......now just to figure out how to do it

yes and you should be able to fix it pretty easily. just click and hold on the desktop to change it to author mode. Next just click and hold on the icons and graphics you want to move and select "move"
It will tell you to move it with the D pad which the HD doesnt have obviously. I use a program called "Mymobile" to display my HD screen on my pc. By doing that I can move things by using the arrrow keys on my pc Install Mymobile (its free) and get creative.
Just wanted to share my progress in creating my own theme. I have also included the exported theme here but have no idea how importing a theme works with WAD2. In the settings there is a button "Import theme" and assume it imports all icons and such but someone will have to try it and let me know. Obviously if you do not have the programs and contacts I have linked in here they will not work on yours so you would have to update the link and all that good stuff. Sceenshots are below and you can go to http://www.swampthing.net/grass.zip to download the theme.
Navigation:
1. Pressing the unlock icon on the initial page brings you into the desktop page.
2. Swiping finger up on the desktop screen (the one with the cloud/temperature, clock, taskbar etc) will lock the screen to the initial page.
3. Swiping your finger from left to right and from right to left progresses through the pages.
4. On contacts and applications pages, swiping your finger up and down brings you through additional contact and app pages
5. Pressing various icons will start programs associated with them such as the clock icon will bring up the windows time/alarm settings
You have to unzip the theme and copy it to your device before you can import it. ENJOY
Future Enhancements:
1. I will add an additional weather page by swiping finger from top to bottom with an alternate city
2. I will put a map together of the navigation at some point. Small unfinished one is attached below

This skin is only usable in portrait.

Great theme and I have it, too, but if you never tried it note that you loose the carousel with this theme - just for the record. And some of the widgets have French titles.

I used google toolbar translate. You have to register with the website and then you can download.
As for the fact that it removes the carosel, it's well worth it.
I recommend it warmly.

Hi, I'm using this theme for the first time and I'm having problems with opening sms messages. I get signs for recieving the texts but when I go into the messages page I can't open them at all.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to recify this,

My PC died and I wanna download this via mobile...
But Mobilecustom doesnt work right with mobile downloads...
I asked the maker and he said that i could see if someone else could upload it to their 4Shared or megaupload or something and grab it from them, it would be okay.
It is not okay to post a download, but someone could email me link...so the mass public wouldnt get it...

For those having problems installing it, make sure that:
1) You are using SPB Mobile Shell 3.x.x
2) You have installed the Message2Reg.cab so that you can use the SMS widget
3) All else fails, reinstall SPB MS3
Personally, I think this theme is fantastic, although I would like to somehow link every page back to the home page with a button somehow...since you sometimes have to swipe three or four times before you get back to the home page.
Other complaints are:
1) No carousel...i miss the eye-candy =P
2) Some widgets are in french, although that's easy to live with and also makes you seem more sophisticated to your friends
3) You cannot change the Professional page...it is now a redundant page that only shows the time and battery meter - I would prefer to have my agenda or calendar there
4) You cannot use the widgets unless you use the full theme...unless there is some "widget capture" program that I have missed
Otherwise, it's a fantastic theme! Definitely worth it and it is good for novelty if nothing else. Somebody actually asked me if I thought that the Android OS was good!...until I told him it was WinMo and he was like " no way!"
Any idea of how to change the launcher button to fav-contacts?
How do i change the "launcher" button to a contacts button? Saw a screenshot in this forum on page 17 that someone had done it.
Dont se the point of having a big button for luncher menu on every screen?

I could definitely do with a list of widgets, and images to go with them. There's about 20 clocks, and dozens of message widgets. It's really hard to customise it not knowing what's what.

Sence Revolution
Great theme running on my Raphael alongside Blue Eye TF3D theme. Just need to change background of Sence: I know how to delete background file etc, but do not understand 16bit bmp. files?? Photoshop offers me a choice of 8bit or 32 bit. Can anyone help me choose the correct res ?
My colletion of AppIcons & AppTiles for replacing the icons with Advanced Config by Julien Schaps.
Added new Glass Icons & Some more Icons to the non Glass version.
Instructions;
Download & Install Advanced Configuration Tool for Windows Phone 7 Beta from above link. Download is near the middle of the page above the comments & advertisement.
Copy the AppTile_*.png & AppIcon_*.png's to \Windows of the device using Windows Phone Device Manager or the USB Hack/TouchXplorer/Advance Explorer methods.
Open Advanced Config Tool & change to Tile & Icons tab.
Select desired app/hub & then select the desire AppTile & AppIcon png's. (Some Hubs/App are currently disabled in the Advanced Config tool because they have Live Tiles & changing those Tile images will cancel out the Live Tile Functionality.)
Select Change, then OK to confirm changes.
There's a second pop up asking you to restart to make changes, click OK if done, Cancel if you want to change more icons.
NOTE: According to the developer of Advanced Configuration Tool, schaps, it works with HTC & LG devices for change icons. The tool also has some support for Samsung devices, but NOT Icon changing. Please report any problems about it not working to the developer. This thread is just a collection thread for icons. I can't help getting it working.

Not exactly an XDA thing or on topic, but found an interesting Windows tweak for Media Center. I've always hated how if you mute Media Center, it mutes the system volume so you can't play music/youtube/etc in the background really. Well I found an app/shortcut "hack" that'll allow this. Download Media Center Mute & follow the instructions included. The just click the shortcut to mute/unmute Media center without effecting the system volume.

i have a question. i went to touchxperience site download a bunch of files. all were compressed . cab files. Wanted to use advanced config tool so i could change some icons but honestly i do not know how to install the thing let alone use it.
so i would appreciate some help getting this up and running.

edit: nevermind, did some digging, it is htc only atm and xaps were available as stated below.

I am going to be doing more as time goes on. I also made a glass over lay for the tile, just need to figure out how to customize the tiles first.

The site has both WM 6.5 CAB files & WP7 XAP files. You want the XAP files, he makes apps for both OS'es. You need your device Unlocked & Tom XAP Installer v1.2 to side load the app. There are quite a few thread here on XDA that have instructions to Unlock your device.

No reason, I just didn't know the specific size & figured 200 x 200 should be big enough & would be scaled down.

how to use the icon? which folder i can copy ?
just put them in the windows folder of your mobile (for example with the windows phone device manager) and apply them with the new advanced config tool.

For now, those built in Hubs that have Live Tiles have been disabled by the Advanced Config developer. If you change those icons, you'd loose the Live Tile functionality.

The answer from drkfngthdragnlrd is correct ...for now they are disable...
I made some of them because this will change in next versions...
For the time all the live tiles app its good practice to not change the tile picture...

those icons look nice but they are a terrible design for metro. too much chrome. tile icons should be basic

It's a fact that your design goes against the metro theme. There's a reason why MS didn't make anything look like that.
my opinion is that metro is better but it's good that you're making them for those of you who don't like metro and want eye candy. It does look good though

So I have been using Samsung phones for quite some time. I see there is a special Galaxy Theme Editor Samsung apparently gives to only the chosen ones. This is quite ridiculous, no?
Is there a Theme editor, creator, or other method for us non 1%'ers to modify the themes on our phones without scrolling through tens of hundreds of mostly garbabe themes that cost money and are garbage to begin with? I just want the option to set my own background colors and images, or font size and colors without wasting my life while being tortured by PURE WHITE backgrounds OR horrible color scheme choices from a horrible to search app store.

in stating "special Galaxy Theme Editor" you mean 'Samsung Theme Park' /Goodlock
why don't you just download the standalone apk from APKMIRROR website
Samsung Theme park ,I personally think it's very basic ,anyhow link......

You can also seach for the other Goodlock modules /standalone apk "s on

eg One Hand Operation + ,Quickstar ,Lockstar ,Quickstar ,Notistar ,Nice shot ,Multistar ,Clockface ,Routines ,Takchanger etc .
Above modules (standalone apk's ) are all part of this Goodlock app .

All you have to do is download /sideload /install apk ,
If you don't see the standalone apk you just installed , in your app drawer ,
then use any shortcut maker or use a launcher eg Nova Prime ,which have the abillities to create
a shortcut via ....Nova launcher , long press on home screen /Widgets /choose Activities option ,
Scroll down list for the relevant app eg Task changer /Quickstar etc .etc ..
Note that if you eg see the relevant name of the app you just installed and there eg 3 or 4 listings of the name ( i found if choosing eg the 2 nd option is ussually correct )
..check /tap/long press to set shortcut on home screen .Thats it.
If you then tap on your chosen app shortcut you configure it accordingly .
Above standalone apk does not require ...root etc .
Also you should know how to install standalone apk"s ??
If you don't know just Google the relevant issue

Yes it might be that.?
However, Samsung, Theme Park is still ,a Samsung (app.) to basics theming..!
Similar to the ones, you get in the Galaxy Store.
Which should be more complicated to compile .?
Samsung Theme Park is Good Lock version of "Galaxy Themes"
You can also say it's the beginners "

If you tried /tested it, you should know it's a basics app, to Galaxy themes.
As OP seems to be a" beginner "as how to start
theming it a good app to learn on.?

So to me it's irrelevant , if he wants to start with a " advance theming " app or Samsung other basic theming app.
It was my suggestion to him to" test " a basic official Samsung Theming app, with similar results than Galaxy Store themes..... .. if he wanted to.?
