Who owns xda-developers?

I dunno I just got curious out of nowhere, so who created XDA-DEVELOPERS!?

I believe it was started by some thoughtful geeks in the UK where the the first HTC device came out and was called the XDA or XDA Exec or something like that. I'm most certainly glad that they did so.

Well my guess is that the owners are a mix of the most powerful world agencies like NSA & Co ...

Same here, I even wonder if there is an xda history page here that begin with "once upon time, before the mighty dinosaur was born there was xda.com .... "

you know back then all we had to work with was Windows Mobile *shudder*
yah we didn't even cook roms for symbian.. just windows mobile. it was the clunky way of the future!
back before the "thanks" button and mayspace and youtube... yah we had mobile office. and .5 megapixel camera's
seriously though thing were alot different the devs were less helpful, more self gratification back then. We actually competed since there wasn't really a whole hell of a lot we could do with windows Mobile 3-6

As a previous Cliq owner (original Cliq) i will tell you not to get your hopes up for Cliq2 support here on xda. www.modmymoto.com will be your best resource for the Cliq2, without question...all of the top Cliq developers are over there (HandlerExploit, Jrodd, etc.), and they are very good at what they do. good luck.

This is the first request we've gotten for Cliq 2. If there are enough people interested, we'll add.

My answer was based on the original Cliq.....i remember over at M3 people would always complain that there wasnt an XDA forum for the Cliq. The potential was certainly there, it just never happened.
Maybe the Cliq2 will produce more demand.

Wow, I always just assumed there was a Cliq section here. This serves as a reminder to check before I buy a phone from now on.

Why are some of the Inc dev's leaving XDA?

Ok. So i have been away from the form for a couple of weeks (family emergency) and I noticed that some of the dev's are packing up and going to different forums JoelZ9614, ihtfp69. What did I miss?

I'm kinda wondering that too tbh

devs should just ignore the crap and keep doing what they do.

Stuff like this makes me want to stay with CM even more. CM is my first love for custom ROMs and my favorite so far due to it's speed and features and open source model. Since they packed up quietly it just would make you speculate.
I like looking at the front page of Inc development to see what's new. We'll still be seeing new ROM on xda, just from fewer devs.

They are doing what they do, just decided to do it elsewhere. A few things have happened on xda that ticked a lot of people off.

I thought I would stick with this phone way past my contract because of the development but I might have to second guess that if the developers become too hard to locate . Like they say " There is a beginning to every end "

I liked the way xda had everything in one big forum.

I agree. The water is muddy right now and it's only going to get progressively worse.
They are two totally different devices. Makes no sense to have them in a generic forum.

I have a feeling this forum is going to have quite a bit more activity.

I also agree... and also beg for it to happen in the galaxy tab forum too. It is too difficult to find things that apply to your device.

Worst part is this phone isn't really day 1 new. 90% of these threads today are already here from 3 weeks ago.

I have been biting my tongue. No more. I don't want to trawl through anymore inane LTE posts on Verizon, T Mobile or whoever else....and the rest. Please please for the sake of my sanity and every one else's....please separate LTE.
