I'm running ee03 midnight rom 6.0 betaish. I'm using my samsung stcok wire issued earbuds. When I make phone calls the other person(person I'm calling) claims I sound far away. When I take off the wired headset and talk to them using speaker phone or holding the phone they can hear me just fine. I thought it was my phone so I used odin to go back to ec05 and I tried the phone call again using my wired samsung stock headset, and it works just fine. I tried marcusants rom and swiss cheese and I believe its a problem with ee03. I was just wondering if anyone else can please test this. Make a phone call and use the samsung stock headset that came with the phone. No bluetooth, has to be a wired headset. Also I noticed while watching movies the audio level is low. If anyone can please just take a few minutes out of there day to test this and post your results I would be very grateful. I notified midnight rom dev.(rob) and he said I was the 1st to bring this to his attention. If anyone else notices this then I'm not crazy. Thanks

I've tried 4 different headsets,I'm waiting for others to try it so I can compare results. Only those using ee03 though. I already know it works fine with ec05 and eb13, and to a lesser extent dk28 and d118 and d107.

I am running a rooted Samsung Epic 4g Froyo.DK28 and I have finally got all the bugs worked out except one that is really annoying...
I have a cassette-to-3.5mm jack adapter plugged into the phone and I am listening to Pandora.
I have a bluetooth earpiece that it paired and connected.
When I receive a phone call I would like to be able to have the conversation on the bluetooth earpiece without having to unplug the 3.5mm jack.
Is this possible?
How?
first off, I'd upgrade to EB13 or EC05
You can try to use Tasker to setup different instances/profiles to accomplish what you want.
Someone asked a similar question the other day in the General section.

I have been looking for about 20 minutes and can't find an easy way to update to EB13 can you post a link?

don't waste your time with EB13. Just go to EC05:

blazinazn - Thank you for your help. Since I last posted I have upgraded to EC05 (it's awesome by the way, thank you for that) and done some fine tuning as well. I am completely happy with my Epic now, everything works (i.e. Bluetooth, GPS) thank you for all your help!
Since the last time I visited this thread I have updated to ED12 and low-and-behold... this issue is solved!
Special thanks to the ACS team for bringing Gingerbread to the Epic and of course to the source who got it to them!
I am now running my Epic with ED12 (ACS - Leaky Gingerbread), I am still on the stock EC05 modem, and now when I am in my car listening to Pandora with my phone connected to my stereo with a 3.5 mm (headphone) auxillary cable and I receive and or make a phone call while my Bluetooth headset it paired and connected Pandora pauses and the phone call is routed to my Bluetooth headset!!! NO WIRES TO UNPLUG!!!
Completely AWESOME!!!
I can't get any sound from my speaker at all. Anybody having this issue or am I the lucky winner.

I can't answer such a generic question without more information. First, I'm going to assume you mean the earpiece, not the external. Next, I'm going to assume it's STOCK EC05 rooted. So based on that assumption, you likely don't believe you've done anything to your Epic that would cause this kind of error. Then I'm going to take it that, either your question is rhetorical and you believe you have a hardware issue, or you believe that either EC05 or rooting is the cause and you're asking if anyone has had any similar problem with EC05.
I can say that I don't know of any similar problem with rooting or EC05. But seeing as you don't mention whether you're even stock or custom, or whether this problem arrived before or after you rooted, no one will be able to compare their situation to yours. Please enclose better information. The following are my generic solutions:
1. Download Sound Manager and attempt to tweak hidden sound settings.
2. Flash or re-flash a ROM (as I don't know if you're custom or not to begin with).
3. Odin to stock or stock-rooted EB13.
4. Head to your nearest Sprint repair store.
You can find links to everything you need for a fresh start in my signature.

Same issue
All notification sounds and ringtones play through the earpiece instead of the speaker
I had the issue on stock rom figured rooting would fix it.
It did for a couple days and then everything went back to playing through the earpieces as if I was on the phone.
I use a bluetooth car kit often and Im wondering if that has anything to do with it
There may be a simple fix for you. This has happened to me a few times when I have plugged up my Epic to wired headphones. Something about disconnecting can sometimes cause the phone to think it is still outputting sound to the headphones, so you cannot hear sound anymore . . . even with a restart. A simple fix is just to plug in a headphone jack again and remove again. This has fixed this issue for me numerous times.
Lost my sound today
Took the above advise and plugged in a wired headset then unplugged. Worked like a charm...for about 2 hours...then happened again. No matter what I try now, cant get sound again.
B4 u ask:
Been CleanGB/BML w/o any mods or themes for long time.
Havent installed any new apps in days.
No OC/UV
Sounds are fine in wired headset
BT works.
Cleared DV cache and reboot > no fix
ODIN'ed stock EC05 > no fix
---this tells me its not the os, but why did it work after plug/unplug headset?
Yes, Sprint store just down the street, but I love a challenge Anyone?
Same problem. Works fine if I plug in an audio out. But did ring for instant messages for about a day. So speaker does work. Wonder if I should go with the kernel that was orginally flashed with cm9?

There are two different issues being reported here.
One being, sounds come out of the ear piece and not the speaker (e.g. ring tone during incoming call can be heard with phone up to your head).
The other being no sound at all, unless you connect to the headphone jack.
The latter I would suspect to be a HW problem (loose internal speaker connection maybe?).
The former would be an audio routing issue I've experienced myself (usually related to BT, speaker-phone, etc).
A simple reboot should fix the routing issue (has for me a few times).
=]
If u Odin back to stock and it still doesn't work then its probly hardware. I tried everything thinking it was sw but ended up replacing the speaker.

I have the exact same issue, if I plug in headphones it will work through speaker, nothing connected it thinks headphones are connected. I have to jam a eyelet from my shoes in there, and connect it to bluetooth to hear audio...
So I ain't the only one...
Went back to stock, same difference, nothing I know will correct it...

This is a known phenomenon I've seen a thread here before where the headphones are reversed... like it think the headphones are plugged in when they aren't.... dunno what causes it but its certainly not too abnormal.

Wrong forum, this is galaxy s1 epic 4g with keyboard.
I have a Bluetooth headset that supports A2DP. All notifications and media play through it automatically, which I very much like. It worked perfectly on my OG Epic 4G, but on the Touch I've had constant issues where somewhere around 25% of the time that my phone sends it something via A2DP (usually a notification sound) my Bluetooth will disconnect, I'll hear its disconnect sound, then I'll have to wait a couple of seconds to hear it reconnect, which it succeeds at roughly 80% of the time. Otherwise I have to turn it off and back on to get it to connect.
Anyone else experience the same with theirs? Any thoughts on a cause/solution?

While I am now rooted, but otherwise stock, this problem has occurred since day one. It's not related to any customizations.
Am I REALLY the only one experiencing this? Seems surprising.
No. I thought it was my headset, and I was about to replace it.

All right, so we've got one more person with the same issue. Now if only we had some extra thoughts on a solution, or a line on this being something Samsung is aware of.
Since this got moved I'm not sure if it's been seen in this forum. Anyone got any thoughts? Similar experience? Idea of if there's a possible fix?
I'm have a problem playing bluetooth audio through my factory stereo
I'm have a problem playing bluetooth audio through my factory stereo, which worked flawless with the EVO. This is a show stopper for me because I travel a lot and listen to podcasts in my car. Since I got the E4GT I have been unable to stream BT audio.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out this is related to the same SoundPool bug that causes a lot of games to crash on the E4GT. I have no further info to help you, unfortunately; you can Google around about that. The short version is that that if it IS another symptom of that same bug, there's probably no fix.
I have a tiny Bluetooth USB jig that I plug into my laptop and my music plays fine through my laptop. I will test it out over a longer period of time tomorrow but so far its been great..

Hello all --
I'm trying to check if a problem I'm having with my S3 is hardware or software (and see therefore if it's possible to fix.)
If you're running a custom ROM and have a car with Bluetooth and a stereo with an Aux in:
-Connect your phone to the stereo via the proper cable and start listening to music
-Turn on Bluetooth
Try to make a call (or receive one) via Bluetooth.
With the stock firmware, the music cuts off when a call comes in or goes out, but you can't hear the caller (and they can't hear you).
I'd like to know if this is the case with custom ROMs for the S3, or if it's a unique problem with the stock software.
Thanks for your help!
Can anyone confirm? Seems like a pretty common issue, but I can't get Samsung or Sprint to give an answer on whether it can be fixed or not...

i can try to verify this in either a couple hours or tomorrow morning at latest.
Does not happen for me, but I am running custom rom. FreeGS3
Thanks Naddict -- so you can listen to music via the headphone jack and make calls over bluetooth at the same time? Good to know -- and it gives me hope that hands-free calling may be possible on my S3.

I have a samsung g-S2 (r-760) and installed the pacman rom along with the ACPverter-v1.0. I set up the rom and everything was fine except the bluetooth and the speaker. The bluetooth I have is a plantronics pro plus. The odd thing is that when I use the bluetooth I can here all my music but when I go to make a call I can not hear anything. The person on the other side can hear me just fine and the speaker does the same thing. If I disconnect the bluetooth and use the phone and select speaker - nothing comes out. The phone works up to your ear. I use odin to go back to stock fk19 and it is still doing this. Like a dummy I did the same thing to my wifes phone thinking it was just mine. Same results. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this solved.... Thanks in advance.
The speakerphone issue is already a known problem with AOSP-based ROMS. No idea about Bluetooth as I have it working on my end.
It's rather odd how the speaker / bluetooth still is an issue after ODIN back to stock.

I looked at all the others but this is doing something different alltogether. Yes I thought odin would solve the issue but it did not and I have flashed 2 other roms but the issues is still here.
