After i uninstalled Handcent on my EVO i have started receiving SMS/Email/MMS notifications during phone calls, which is annoying as all hell to have it blast into your ear while trying to talk to someone.
Does anyone else have this issue or know of a way to fix the notifications from playing during a phone call?
When in Handcent app, hit Menu , Settings, Notification Settings, scroll down and on the very bottom there are options Sound on Call & Vibrate on Call.

Using the stock HTC messaging app how do I turn on the notification sound during a phone call?
I have a problem with my desire. When i recieve a sms during a phone call the phone sms ringtone plays so loud that i cannot hear the voice of the person i am talking to and need to interupt my conversation till the sms ringtone stops where as other phones just dont ring the whole sms ringtone when you are on a phone call they just do an alert tone like beep which will never interrupt your phone call.Is there a setting that i can silent sms ringtone during a phone call or any other suggestions will be appreciated...thanx in advance..

You can try using a app like tasker to lower the ringer volume when there is a incoming call. For tasker there is a one week trail if you download the app from there site so you can test if it works before paying.
That tasker i believe does tasks my problem is i think more about sms notification adjustments..Not any other phone does this it is very certain if u recieve a sms during a phone call u just get a beep not the whole sms ringtone,i wonder why a perfect system like android does this:s. Any ideas???

Yes a pathetic design flaw. I'm amazed that all the moders on here haven't put their efforts to fixing this, even if google don't seem to care.
Not everyone wants to use a 3rd party messaging app......
Hey guys,
so i noticed my phone doesnt vibrate when i recieve text messages unless the phone is specifically set to vibrate mode.
with volume, i recieve a notification sound but no vibrate
Im using go sms pro as my messaging client and when i test the notification settings i get a report saying:
test result is:
ringtone is on
has turned on vibrate in silent mode
go sms notification test results:
ringtone is on
vibration is on
etc...
so the line im trying to figure out is the "has turned on vibrate in silent mode".
ive searched through the Sound settings on the phone and i cant find any way to change the vibration settings or the silent mode settings.
i even experimented with setting the stock messaging app to vibrate always and setting go sms pro to no block other app notifications...still no vibrate even with the duplicate notifications.
what do you guys think? i feel like im just full retard and missing a simple check box in settings or something.
thanks
Your question is about Go SMS? With the stock messaging app, vibration options are in the settings. Must be in there somewhere.
I am using the standard Samsung message app. When i recieve a text it will not notify me with a tone anymore.
I have gone to
Messaging>settings>notifications>select ringtone I choose the tone I want (it has always worked) When I recieve a text the phone only vibrates.
Anyone any ideas please?
Any sugestion for a good 3rd party messaging app?
THANKS
