[Q] What is UID 10055 and process 1010? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
After typing in *#*#4636#*#* I see a "UID 10055" and a process "1010".
When I click on the 1010 process it crashes and I have to close it. For all other processes running I can see the details after clicking them.
What are these? Is it a virus?
I use a HTC Desire HD with Android 2.2.1 Build 1.84.207.2.
A few weeks ago (with older software version) I had rooted my phone a few times, but not permanently.
Is this something bad running on my phone now?

[Q] Froyo --> random reboots with a clean ROM

Hello,
Everything started when I did OTA update to Froyo...
My Desire reboot randomly when I use Nav, Maps, Browser, etc...
I tried to downgrade the HBOOT to 0.80 with a PB99IMG.zip package in order to get a clean place to do again the update.
The OTA update did not available after that...
So, I root it with Unrevoked, put a 2.2 official Froyo from Modaco with associated radio rom, install all my usual applications (Task killer, Reminder, Calendar, etc...) and try to use my phone again... with random reboots again
I made a swip of all that I could, re-install official Froyo ROM with radio, without anny application... and then, try it again... with random reboots !!!
Sometimes, it reboot in loop and then stay on the first HTC screen.
The back of the handset is hot when it reboot (but was more hot without any problem before, when I was under Android 2.1 and Nav activated).
The phone is not branded... and I use it with Bouygues Telecom.
I not use my gel case since I had the problem, as I though it could be an overheat issue.
And I have already read other topics about Froyo and reboots but not find something that could help me
Anybody could help me ?
i have the same issue. The only way to fix it is to underclock the cpu or open the back cover and blow at the bottom on the phone where the cpu is located.'
Or you can always return it to htc service (remember to flash original rom, radio and hboot and unroot)
The issue is that the phone got very hot and actually burned some stuff in there making a shortcircuit, before my phone could withstand over 50'C, Now it reboots at 40'C. I seriously think the phone has been fried!
I have exactly same problem.. it's very annoying!!! Anybody can help??
Maybe some app do it?
First it happened only in browser on some websites (after debrand + FROYO). I suspected Flash plugin.
But then it starts happened randomly everywhere - when reading PDF, use Navigation...
Even if i downgrade with PB99IMG_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed_txt.zip and then receive new OTA 2.10.405...
bug is still there!

[Q] All Apps stopped working unexpectedly...

Hey guys,
the strangest thing since i'm using android happened to me right now.
I realized that my DHD starts to lag after 2-3 days, a reboot fixes it, (USB debugging always enabled) but that's not the problem :=)
so i wanted to restart!
all apps stopped working unexpectedly....
really everything, launcher, there are masses of popups coming up, no idea what really happened.
the only thing i know, htc sense seemed to work (i was so intelligent to try to start launcherpro, which created a default shortcut, so then everything including launcher pro stopped working, no chance to to anything (usb connection not detected... nothing)
popups just reoccur directly after clicking them away. no idea at all.
i found this:same problem on another phone @xda
but there hasn't been a solution too.
so i just wanted to tell anyone out there experiencing the same with a dhd.
u're not alone.
i'm reflashing. (another rom, it was revolution hd 3, but i think its not rom related - but i have to mention, the stock rom - used for 2 months before- never had anything similar - rev. hd was just in use for a few weeks now (1 or 2).

update:
guys this really suckz, i dont know whats different with my DHD and the combination of revolution HD rom, but this is the second time this happened!
the first time, i realized (not as written above) i was using rev. HD 2.1
now it was on 3.0
i know, there's a 3.1 out there, but i really dont want to test it.. something's really strange here? (same error happened another time :===/)
I suggest you to reset your Desire HD
thanks,

Problem solved on my HTC HD2
Just solve the problem on my HTC HD2 applications force to stop error, no need to soft of hard reset required no need to update or re-install ROM, Go to Manu >Rome Manager ( My version is v4.8.1.3 > Utilities > TAP ON Fix permissions ( Fix file system permissions, this often fixes force close problems) after waiting few minutes reboot and enjoy ...............

HTC Desire random reboot problem.

Hello.
I've had a HTC Desire for about 6 months now and recently I have encountered a huge problem.
So , the thing is that suddenly , my phone reboots. When I play games , or when I just look around the phone.
Usually it gets hot in the part under the battery.
I have tried multiple ROMs , but no solution so far.
Any ideeas ?
I have changed the RADIO with the latest and no solution.

Android version: 2.3.3
baseband version: 32.56.00.32u_5.17.05.23

i'm so dipresed by this that i whant to change evry thing back........

Bad setcpu setup

Good luck!

I also have the same problem however I suspect for me it is the Simeji keyboard that's been crashing and rebooting my Desire.
I'm using Reflex S 2.1.5 rom with radio: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.
Last time it crashed I was using Simeji in Colornote and then tried to open alogcat but it forced closed so I tried to open it again then it rebooted. I'm gonna try to replicate what I did to see if they're the culprits.
Update: Managed to crash my phone twice. Alogcat was the one crashing my phone. That's not very helpful since I was trying to use it to find out what was crashing my phone the first time prior to installing alogcat. How frustrating.

Hi, My first desire which was not rooted had a similar problem. It would just switch off on its own. This was caused by a faulty motherboard and had nothing to do with radios, kernel or the like. My suggestion would be to make a nand backup and then flash a completely stable kernal, rom etc and then run that with little to no apps installed. If it keeps restarting its unlikely to be a kernel, rom or software issue. Hope that helps
Can anyone suggest a stable RADIO/ROM configuration? Please ?

[Q] MIUI rooted Desire randomly restarts

So, I have HTC Desire with rooted MIUI rom for a while.
HTC Desire, GSM, MIUI 2.1.6
It was okay until 5th January. I have about 25 installed apps and anything was fine. Few days ago I noticed strange "Force stop" in apps like Twitter, Foursquare, Internet Browser.
Then the same started to happen with random restarts of the phone. The phone simply started, then restarted and entered into bootscreen loop, so I ejected battery and inserted and so on. Clearing Dalvik Cache doesn't help.
Also when I try to enter Wi-Fi settings it freezes and gives out "Force close application?" That's just ridiculous!
I have lately updated from previous MIUI version 2.1.4 because that problem started there, but with no changes.
Can you please help here?
i have always faced similar issues with MIUI , my phone doesnt like it
so i have simply stopped using it
edit: if you still want to use MIUI id suggest you stick with a stable version for a while rather than weekly updates
Well, it really might be like that. Seems like I fixed those issues by doing a full phone wipe and fresh flash. Which release can you suggest me?
Wich releases did you try before ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have MIUI on mine and flash each update. The biggest issue I have is that it tries to update and always fails with an E:\SDCard error in recovery. I just download and then flash the full rom (no wipes) and it works a treat. The one issue I have with 2.16 is that SMS messages disappear below my 'Better Keyboard' where they didn't in the version prior. I've switched to Android keyboard now but have yet to see if the issue persists. That said, it is by far the most stable ROM I've ever used and I'm running 40+ apps on it with zero problems.

As far as it is, it looks fine. No big problems at all. The only issue is that I backed up 5000+ messages back to phone, I like to store them there. Sometimes seems like it is a little hard for android to hold so many sms's.

HTC one m8 problem with com.android.systemui

Hello everyone,
I am new to all this stuff. I got a replaced htc one m8 from htc. It worked fine for 7 months and after that i got an official update of marshmallow. I have updated my phone to Marshmallow, it worked fine for 7 days. Suddenly I started getting a error message like com.android.systemui had stopped working unexpectedly. So I just rushed to service center and gave my phone there. He tried to flash the rom and immediately called me and said that your phone is rooted since there was S-off sign showing in your device. Then when they tried to install os, it was not successfull and it was restarting again and again on its own. Then he confirmed me that its motherboard issue and we cannot do anything.
My Question is whether this problem be solved by rooting and all that stuff or just throw my phone? If we can do anything then wat is the procedure? What is flashing? Will that solve?
Please help me to solve this problem
