Are you rooted with a custom rom, or stock?
Sent from my shiny metal G2 w/ meXdroid V3
Search market for an app called 'Rescan Media'. Run this to update the gallery with all photos you have taken. It's a fairly common problem (at least on stock, don't know about with other ROMs). Hopefully the 2.3 update will sort this out.

Well, I flashed latest Cyanogen mod, but then I found some problems with the phone. I'm not sure if it's really Cyanogen or something else, that's why I'm asking here.
Now, I always liked the default camera that comes with the phone, but this time, I can't find the timer on it. I have checked every single option and - nothing.
I figured that I might try some other camera apps, so far: Camera360, Camera Advance, Camera ZOOM FX and Vignette, they all work fine, but when it comes to saving pictures, nothing happens. I'm using some 3D gallery app, which comes with Cyanogen, I'm not sure what it's called, but it's fairly popular.
Any solution to this?

Appreciate your reasoning but please don't cross post (same question in multiple forums / threads).

You mean the picture is taken ok but are not being saved? Have you used a file manager or pc to check the DCIM folder on the SD Card? This is a very unique issue and not specific to the camera apps or the ROM. Let me know re above.

The Gallery 3D app is native to Android. It won't be responsible for the issues.
Sorry for late reply. Yes, the images are shown in gallery, it just reports location as unknown and when I check SD card (I have checked every folder) there are no pictures (even the newly created folders after I change save path) are not shown.
However, after you mentioned that I should check with file manager, I did so and I can see the pictures. But still, nothing on SD card, so I can't access them. I even tried sharing them on Facebook and sending g to my email then downloading, they show up in the gallery but not on SD card when I access it via PC.
What is causing this? PC issue?

I've heard that somewhere, the app ShootMe works on unrooted Evos.
Just wondering if this is true, because I have a screenshot of my phone overheating to 130 degrees, on stock rooted, and I need to take my phone to the Sprint store and show them. It would be hard to explain if ShootMe requires root on the Evo...
Check superuser app. If shootme requires root, it will be there.

I understand that, but I am going to unroot my Evo before I go into the store. I can't have Superuser then, and I have to explain the use of ShootMe to capture my phone overheating.

Take a regular photo just in case if you can. When you unroot, download ShootMe again and try to take a screenshot. It should work.
Keep in mind the framework, etc in the screenshot you already have. If it's obviously a custom rom, or if it just looks different than stock, they may question you. They could claim it's a different phone in the shot or that your phone was rooted when you took the photo.
I used ShootMe on my Evo before I rooted it, so unless something changed then it should still work. This was before the latest OTA, though.

That's going to be an issue possibly... I cannot replicate the problem, it just occasionally happens. I was on Deck's ROM when it happened, so it has a different notification bar. I can possibly blame that on Launcher 7, with a custom notification bar.
This will be my second time in the store this week, first time they gave me a new battery and told me to come back if I still had overheating/random rebooting issues. I'm crossing my fingers for a new phone... power button/sound buttons are worn out from flashing so much
Just crop the image so the notification bar doesn't show... unless that's where it is showing the temp. It could be the rom or kernel that's causing the problem. If it doesn't happen on stock then that's most likely the problem. If it does happen on stock, just take a new screenshot then.
But if it's obvious that the screenshot is of a custom rom, I'd just tell them about the problem first and see if they will do something about it. If they won't, then show it to them.
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)
The overheating issue happened on every ROM and kernel I tried. Oh well. They ran tests and couldn't duplicate the problem, but they knew me well and took me on my word. Ordered a new phone.
On the way out, showed them the screenshot (in Spare Parts, showing battery information)... they freaked and knew I wasn't joking.
Thanks for your help!
I used Shoot Me on my evo before it was rooted without an issue, as well as a friend of mine.

Yes it will work on an unrooted evo.
I'm having an Issue with my Evo running CM7 Nightlys.
Lately when I try to dowload a pic from either MMS or emails ect. Hell sometimes even when I take a pic when I go into my gallery it shows the new pic that's supposed to be there but when I open it it comes up another pic usually one that I had deleated but sometimes it's of a pic that I have in another folder somewhere. I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue, and better yet if anyone has figured out how to fix it this issue is driving me nuts.
Thanks
Try fixing permissions via rom manager. It fixes tons of things. If that doesn't work clear data in applications-all-gallery

Tried both and still the same result. Nothing changed at all.
Might have a bad download. Try redownlaoding flash the rom and gapps. Are you using a specific kernel?

hey green does gosms still send mms to a website then you download from there?
try clearing data for gallery and media storage, rebooting, opening gallery and letting the thumbnails reload.

Wow that's quite weird! For cases like this I ussualy go for a fresh start. Do you have the stock SD card?
Format it on your computer with fat32. Remember to back up necessary pics, videos, backups, etc.
Then follow my little guide below as much as you prefer. (You don't have to follow exactly) my setup will get you that fresh clean slate.
If your problem is still there, let me know.

There's a picture of a blue cog wheel flashing in the top right corner everytime I press the power button and view my home screen. Anyone have this issue?
Also, does anyone else have the bug where you try to open a thread (texting) and it just goes back to your page of contacts like 5 times before you can view your thread?
Here are the solutions!

Have you rooted your phone? It has not happened to anyone in this world in Stock ROM.
Look, the Amazing Spiderman 3D Live Wallpaper has a sign in the top right corner when we switch between homescreens. So, I think it might be something with the wallpaper you're using..
OR
It may be some app you downloaded that runs all the time (like a battery saver app) which shows some sort of sign when the screen is turned On and the phone is Awake.

Yes, it happened to me. Not 5 times, but I must say that the Stock Messages app is bad! Very, Very, Very bad!
It'll go away by itself.. At least now it doesn't happen with me... Actually its because HTC One V hasn't loaded all the threads and we command it to open a thread. So, after 1 second when all the threads (the whole messages app is loaded) it takes us back to show the full messages app loaded.
Ah great explanation, thanks man. Any new messaging apps that you would recommend? The phone is actually my mothers with that issue that has been not sending texts at random intervals and wanting htc error reports as well. It has a 3d wallpaper, not rooted and I don't think either of those have to do with the wheel. It's pretty much stock.
Here you are! Messages app- SOLVED !

No. I won't recommend any 'cause I've never seen any! Also, it's not needed! You know... My memory RAM was too low (always 30-40MB free). But when I uninstalled many apps that I never used, with the phone getting faster, the messages app has also got smoother.
Now why did this affect the Messages app? --Because I uninstalled apps that took a lot of RAM, my RAM got released much after they got uninstalled. Now I have 70-80MB of RAM free and indirectly this helps the Messages app by allowing it to take RAM and store cache. Now I dont have any problem with Messages app..
Perform the following steps-
Clear the data and cache in Settings-Apps-Messages.
Open the messages app and use it.
Go to Settings-Apps.
Under the Running tab, gently tap on the green area at the bottom right (which indicates your free RAM).
The Running tab will then show the cached processes.
The more the memory is used by the Messages app, the more it gets smoother.
If no memory is used, let me and eveeyone on XDA know.

I'll have to ask next time I see her. Thanks for the help so far.

I've determined it's only issue now is she can't send texts with pictures attached or it fails. Any ideas on this?

Hello, I recently got a Nexus 5X and am wondering what is the best way to copy all my pictures from my Nexus 5. I've tried dragging them off and pasting them onto the new phone, which does work, but the order gets all screwed up and the time created of each file is not preserved. Is there a way to copy pictures (and perhaps other files) while keeping the original timestamps?

unless you use a very wierd camera or gallery app they should stay in order, since the original timestamp is usually included in the files name. for example 'IMG_20160616_103711.jpg' was taken on 16.6.2016 at 10:37:11. so as long as they are sorted by name the files in this case (stock camera) stay in order.
does the stock photos app sort by name? i haven't been able to make that happen, or find that option.. seems just like it's random? maybe i can just delete everything and reimport while in airplane mode or something so there are no interruptions?

google photos gets instantly deactivated on all of my devices, so i am not sure on that front. it should at the very least be able to sort photos by name or the dateincludet in the images metadata (not the 'last changed' stat) though.
oh ok.. what photo app do you use then? I personally dont like the Google Photos app either, I prefer the old gallery app. Also, thanks for chiming in here!
