[root] SGS2 SIM unlock code finder - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

About
Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock code finder will find the SIM unlock code for your device, or the unfreeze code. It'll take a few minutes to run, but you should end up with the code to SIM unlock your device. If the code doesn't work, don't keep trying it !. You may end up with a freeze. In that case, the program can also find the unfreeze code, but if the SIM unlock code is wrong in the first place, maybe so is the unfreeze code
Based on Odia's work here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064978
Thanks / Donate
Press the thanks button, and/or donate (or not) to Odia and/or myself
Also, please rate it 5 stars in Market if it works for you... I think some people who sell unlockers are purposely 1 starring it (seeing as nobody has reported any problems)

THIS IS ONLY FOR NON-US RESIDENTS, SORRY. YOUR LAWS HAVE GONE BACKWARDS, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SIM UNLOCK NO MORE

Nice. Good job.

Thank u so much... Keep up your great work, Chainfire

Downloaded and ran on my unlocked device and it came up with 00000000.
I am running to find the unfreexe code too, though not really sure how it works? Should I expect a valid code?

There is no SIM unlock code because there is no SIM lock ? Not sure about the unfreeze code, but I doubt it'll come up with one.

Nicely done.
You are truly a productive person.

Thanks.
I thought a SIM unlock code was realted to the device, not to the device and the *current state of the SIM lock* (ie, it must be locked to display an unlock code!)
It came up with an 8 digit number starting 9242
Is it actually a useful number if you have no sim lock?
James

I don't think so

Hi Chainfire, just poped into your thread to say, APP appears to be working fine.
As a note for everyone, even on a factory unlocked model the unfreeze code should still be present.

But what is it actually useful for ?

This is crazy.
Requested my unlock code from o2 over a week ago. They contacted me on Saturday to say they do not have it and that they will have to resubmit the unlock code request to Samsung.
I still do not have an unlock code after 2 weeks of owning the phone.
Literally 5 minutes after seeing the xda tweet about this thread my phone is now unlocked.
Crazy, absolutely crazy that the community can do in 5 minutes what the corporate world can't achieve in 2 weeks.
I am blown away, many many thanks to the op, this is outstanding

O2 were no use at all for this. Chainfire's app sorted the issue in minutes. Great work. Thanks.

I already unlocked mine using Odia's method but this looks way easier.. Good Job man..

Let me act stupit and ask. What this do? What is it usefull for?
I have myself 5 virgin sim cards from tmobile.
Thanks for any explanatios

Normally in Samsung phones if you enter a phone lock code (PLK) and you forget the code, the master code can be used to reset it, I am not sure if Samsung Android phones would work in the same way because the PLK does not seem to be written to nv_data.bin when activated.

Its a lot easier for the less experienced users and Chainfire has done a very good job with the APK, although using the manual method with a GFX card to brute force the hash is a lot quicker

I need help - got my S2 from O2 which it's locked to. After nine days, still no unlock code from O2, apparently delays in obtaining them.
Downloaded and ran this app, but failed with 'Could not acquire Supersuer access! Is your device rooted?'
What does this mean and what do I need to do to resolve it?
Thanks in advance.

The message "Could not acquire Supersuer access! Is your device rooted" actually told you what is wrong. Guess you did not root your S2. Follow the link to get your S2 rooted.

I have installed this and got my Unfreeze Code, however the Unlock code is just comes up as 0000000000.
It also take much less than a second to generate it, so I assume there's a problem?
The Unfreeze code took a few minutes and produced an actual code ... have I missed something?

Only sim unlocked phones can use the sony bootloader unlock service, you will have to pay one of the people here for a remote unlock if you want sim/bootloader unlocked.
Thank you.
Just a nother quick question...
since i have a 4G AT&T xperia play i can acctually unloack the bootloader and by re-flashing the ROM actually preform a SIM unlocking like it discribed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034371
????
will this work on my AT&T 4G device ?

I'm gonna use Alejandrissimo in the general forum to unlock my phone tonight...
ok ... so just to make sure i got it right:
1. i need to first unlock my sim
2. i will be able than to unlock the bootloader
?
did i got it right ? since this is actually collides with what i'm reading here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1349669
[astralmaze05]: ok i understand, if i sim unlock it using the online unlocking services will it also unlock my bootloader automatically?
[Logseman]: No. However, the contrary is true: if you pay to unlock your bootloader your Sim lock will vanish as well.

Here you see that it was said that unlocking the SIM doesn't mean that you can unlock the bootload...
any response ?
I insist: unlocking your sim won't unlock your bootloader, you will have to unlock it separately.
However, unlocking the bootloader automatically sim-unlocks the phone.
Thus, save yourself the grief, contact any of the unlockers mentioned in the thread of my signature, and just unlock the bootloader.
I will since i'm seeing it getting more complex then i wanted.
but still i want just to understand if unlocking your sim won't unlock the bootloader but, after the sim is unloacked then i could use the bootload unloacker online from sony, no?
No, you can't. The official Sony bootloader unlocking method is only valid for phones which were sold originally Sim-unlocked. Sim-unlocking an originally Sim locked phone will not make you eligible for the Sony bootloader unlocking method, so you would have to use Alejandrissimo's bootloader unlock method anyway.
Thank you ! now i got it!
i hope this thread will be a good use for others as well.

I would like to thank Alejandrissimo for his quick and working unlocking method from remote!!! works wonderful!!!

Make sure you have another SIM Card that is different from your service provider. Only $7.99, thought it was a good deal.

Works unlock (not pemanent) on galaxy nexus gsm vodafone
Docomo App
Yes Sorted!
N wifi does not work after flash
Sorry - found out why the N WiFi was not working. It was my SIM card! I used a balked SIM card for testing but when I put in the working SIM card the WiFi N worked. ... go figure.
Ran the ****docomo.apk on the SC-04D Galaxy Nexus.
First let me go over the general experience then I will go over the problem
It works. It makes a back up of your IMEI data when you choose either permanent unlock or temporary unlock. You have to restart the phone for the backup folder to appear. Once your phone restarts you will see a folder called .unlock_backup. You should copy this to a safe place on your computer.
The phone unlocked in both unlock states. Worked with T-moble and sofbank.
I ran both the permanent and the temporary unlock. flashed the ROM both times to test. The lock reappears with the temporary unlock but does not reappear with the permanent unlock. (Just as advertised) Resting the phone erases the backup folder on the phone.
After the flash I checked the IMEI number and it was completely different from the original IMEI number. (Permanent Unlock)
I reinstalled ****docomo and then copied the .unlock_backup folder from my computer back to the phone. After restarting the phone it could see the backup folder again. I could re-lock my phone and get the original IMEI working.
Great!
works perfect... thank you so much
Does this apps work on other simlocks?
Any plans to update this for the new update? I heard it doesn't work with the new 4.0.4.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
app doesn't work on 4.0.4, update soon?
4.0.4
The unlock temporary option does not work on 4.0.4 but the unlock forever does work.
If is no downside or risk in this option wich mess up the imei I think i gone to leave it like this.
Yes, the app doesn't work anymore on 4.0.4 to do a temp unlock so I decided to use a perm unlock. Also, found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570342 to maybe temporary fixed the generic imei.
What does this apk do with the "full internet access" permission it requests?

A705W No OEM unlock...

Does this mean it is un-rootable?
Goddam but Virgin fones are a pissoff.
Should I return this phone?
Or is there any possibility of a way to fix this?
I learnt the same lesson. It's sad that carriers can restrict what we do with our phones here in north America while if you buy this same phone anywhere else in the world, it's rootable.
I've had mine a few months now and still no way of rooting.

ok, so the idea is that I flash the combination file, go in to dev. settings and set OEM unlock, then reflash the phone with normal firmware, and carry on with rooting as normal? will this allow me to install twrp?
thank you for your reply, and thank you in advance for any info that helps!

no , when you enabled dev settings, enable OEM unlock , then reboot to bootloader and unlock it , then u can root with magisk by patching the AP of the firmware you need

BK,
Ok, I'm sure you're going to think I'm a retard, but I wanna be sure I understand correctly.
So i:
1)flash combination file
2) Boot phone up
3) enable developer settings
4) enter developer settings, and enable OEM unlock.
5) Ok, here is where I'm a little unsure of what you mean:
"Reboot to bootloader and unlock it"
6) root with magisk.
The number 5 slot (above) is what I am having trouble with....
And then I use my pc to root the AP of the proper firmware before I flash it with Odin on to the phone?
Wait..I'm getting that part wrong too, I think.... shoot
Oh gosh. I'm screwing this up. Please advise here too...
And will TWRP be possible afterwards?
Excuse my asking about what I'm sure is obvious....
I have rooted and enjoyed the results on several LG phones and my old tab4, and I would enjoy the same freedom with this phone, as I quite like it.
Thank you again for being willing to advise.
Regards
K

I mucked around for a bit with a cracked z3x for a bit, but it was an older version, and didnt have A705W listed.

Please help, if anyone can.
Thank you
I am kinda in the same position as you...
I've been wanting to root for a while but this oem unlock thing with my Virgin a705w is annoying
I don't really want to risk bricking my phone or whatever so I was hoping someone could do it first.
I found this website with pit files if they're any use: full-repair-firmware .com/p/galaxy-a70-sm-a705xx.html
(remove the space before the .com; I can't post links on xda)
pls let me know if you can get it working

Hey BK.
Thank you very much for your input!
I've only rooted my LG phones previously..
Samsung has a few more twists it seems!
I thought it might be worth asking you if you had any info on that error I mentioned below, the "please get approval to use factory binaries (abl) or (pit)" problem?
I've seen some stuff, applicable to the error ending in (pit), but have not seen anything referring to the (abl) version of the error, which is what I am experiencing....
Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated....and by more than just me, I'm sure!

Help! My SM-A705MN seems hard locked to Smart Telecommunications.

Good day.
I'm from the Philippines. I bought an A70 and I wanted to use my old sim, which is Globe, but whenever I insert my Globe sim, or there are no sim in the sim tray, this always pops up and i can't use my phone unless I use my Smart sim.

Whenever I insert both my Smart and Globe sim, I could use the phone but I can not turn on the mobile data of my Globe sim cause it's grayed out.
And this also also pops up in the notifications and I can't swipe it off.
I tried downgrading the firmware to A705MNXXU3ASG6 before.
Then I updated to A705MNXXU3ASJ1. (Both stock firmwares I flashed are XTC.)
I did the *#272*IMEI# and chose XTC even though my phone is already in XTC.
I also tried SAMTool(Says Unlock Successful)
The phone technician at the mall i went to used SamKey(Failed)
I even used '01234567' and '00000000', the unlock codes SAMTool says to use, on #7465625*638*#
But the 'Smart Communications Inc.' still pops up whenever there is no sim or I insert my Globe sim.
My OEM Unlock is hidden as well. Whenever I go to download mode, it says on the screen, 'OEM LOCK : ON (L)'.
Tried this : https://www.xda-developers.com/fix-missing-oem-unlock-samsung-galaxy-s9-samsung-galaxy-s8-samsung-galaxy-note-8/
And the solution here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a70/help/oem-unlock-168-hours-t3994553
But OEM Unlock is still hidden.
I hope someone can help me with this. Would really appreciate it.

Haven't tried that yet. Salamat. Sa greenhills ko kasi to nabili. Mukang within the contract period ba tong phone. First time ko rin kasi bumili ng phone in years, di ko tuloy natanong kung openline ba or hindi. Engot lang. Haha.
it look like your smart garbage sim is showing this kind of 'bloatware' thing , did you could use your globe sim before on a70? if yes , then the updates in philippines for MN variants force you to use their smart garbage and prevent you from using your globe sim, or just your globe seen been desactivated by your globe service provider, if you root and install another firmware like lineage , it should work, if even on lineage os or any other custom firmware it still show that smart garbage , then it's the sim itself who won't allow you to use any other sim than their own, what angry me the most is that they say thanks for using it while they force you to use their garbage, ill help you to root it , ill also make sure that you are actually able to activate your OEM unlock , im sure your sim prevent you from unlocking your device.

Yes, I can still use my Globe sim on other devices. I'm currently using it on my SM-T535. It seems the seller sold me the A70 while it is still under contract with Smart. Sadly we only have 2 major service providers here in the Philippines thanks to the garbage system we currently have. Hopefully, we change to Federal-Parliamentary with no FDI Restrictions soon. Anyway, I haven't tried rooting yet cause I haven't I still have no experience with it. This will be my first if ever.
Should I follw this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a70/how-to/galaxy-a70-firmware-list-variants-t3957239
Or do you have other recommended threads I should follow?
Btw, if ever I successfully rooted my device with a custom firmware, could I still unroot it and return to an official firmware without the annoying 'Smart Communications Inc.' popping up ever again?

Good day sir. I just flashed the TCE version but the Smart thingy still pops up if there are no sim or I use my Globe sim.
What should I do next sir?
Could I do this next even if my OEM Unlock is hidden? https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a70/how-to/galaxy-a70-firmware-list-variants-t3957239
Or do i have to do something else?

Question bootloader on android 12

hi. i got interested in this phone and seems to have decent rom support. since the last update i have some doubts with unlocking bootloader:
first, people is panicking this update broke many things, and users are not sure bootloader is unlockable anymore. this is a must for me, please confirm me if that got ruined for this update or still works.
second, people also mentions about a code and i'm confused. the pinned guide says is as simple as one command, but users report they are being requested an special code the phone gives you. chow does this work? if i want to get the phone from a previous owner would it mean i can't access that code? what oneplus asks for exactly?
thanks for your time
I don't know what code you are talking about. Just follow the guide, be sure what you are doing and be sure how to get things right if something is going south.

The bootloader is still unlockable (although some OEM versions might not allow it)

ok, THIS i want to talk now.
can you please explain under what conditions is won't be unlocable or what oems don't allow it?
this has the upmost importance to me. its super important it being possible to unlock. the phones that dont allow it, is it because updates, fabrication region, time they were made or other factors?

I couldn't tell you all the OEM's that wouldn't allow unlocking, I think T-Mobile in the US is one but mine (from Three UK) isn't limited in that way.
If you reboot to bootloader and run "fastboot oem unlock" after enabling that setting above and it fails then your bootloader is locked by oem

Generally, if the phone is SIM-locked the "OEM Unlocking" will be greyed-out and you can't toggle it until you SIM-unlock your phone.
On T-Mobile, for example, once you SIM-unlock the phone, you run a command in Fastboot to get your phones unlock code.
Once you have your bootloader's unlock code, you submit a request on OnePlus' Unlock Token page.
Devices bought directly from OnePlus should be unlockable out of the box.
Hope this helps!
