Hey guys I just installed Virus' Kingdom Revolution ROM on my EVO, everything works fine except my app icons are not showing up on the homescreens. I was curious if anyone has had this issue or knew how to fix it.
TIA
I believe that is a known issue. Virus is working on it now.

If its b 1.1 flash gfx.zip that is on your sd card

It is version B1.1 and after I flashed the gfx.zip, now my phone is stuck at the white Htc Evo screen lol. I remember a fix for this somewhere in that long thread. Will peruse through it for a bit.
*Edit* Found the fix for being stuck at the white screen. I had to pull the battery, go to bootlaoder, recovery then wipe the dalvik cache and regular cache and that worked.

Has anyone else been having issues with icons and widgets overlaying on top of itself. Every so often when I re-start my phone my icons and widgets create duplicates. Is there some kind of fix to this?
what rom do you have? ive been having that problem since myns rc2 and it does get quite annoying
Im using myn's rls3

I have a theory about this. I think its Titanium Backup. Although, since switching from Fresh to Myn's I haven't had the problem.
It is annoying though, and it also slows the **** out of your phone.
Just reboot

I have the same issue on a fully stock unrooted rom.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yup, I think this can be caused by not wiping the data partition. I have had it happen before running titanium.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
actually rebooting is what causes it
the only kindof solution ive found so far is to save the scene once you have it set up and switch out and back when they duplicate
and i dont think its titanium as i always wipe my data thouroughly and never restore everything, just specifically one by one
Ive installed a couple roms calks evio and sprint lovers and both of them worked perfectly then just randomly my dialer (phone app) went away and the only way I can get it back is re-flash the rom. Whys this happening any help?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I couldn't tell ya. Re-flash to get it back. Are you on any custom kernel?
Yeah but it sites it on stock kernel too and it's not just the phone dialer it randomly happens with other specific apps like nba gametime
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
When you re-flash, do you do so on a clean install?
No I just wipe cache and it works but I think the problem is my new launcher, this started happening after I installed lg home launcher

I've had my evo rooted since i got a replacement back in oct 2010, never had a problem flashing roms, and trying different ones, i was running MikG 1.0 - 2.2 rom without a problem, the other day my phone fell on the carpeted floor, battery came out and everything, so i put it back in and powered on the phone, but i noticed, it just kept restarting after 10 seconds it was all booted up on the lockscreen, i can go into the phone and everything but it keeps restarting exactly after about 10 seconds.
Tried different roms but keep getting the same problem. Unrooted phone, and it was working fine, got it rooted, and kept doing the same thing, so i thought it had something to do with the kernel, so installed a different kernel from savaged-zen, but didnt get further the htc evo screen, so installed stock kernel, and then it was working fine running MikG 2.2. Decided to restart the phone, and then again the problem came back, doing the same ****, so this time i installed a stock rooted rom, and so far its been working fine. It seems my phone doesnt like any other roms but stock ones anymore.
Can someone please tell me wtf is going on? Thanks in advance.
Wow, thnx for all the support, you guys are great!!! (sarcastic)
What recovery are using? What mainly does it happen with? So at least the phone boots into a rom?
Also take a look at the SD card it could be loose. That happened to me on my hero it fell and kept getting boot loops the finally took SD card out and put it back in properly.

Im using latest amon ra, it boots up into the rom but prolly about after 10 seconds it restarts, i could go further into the phone if im fast enough, it doesnt do it when i go into recovery or try a stock rom.
Im gonna check on the sd card, when i get home, thx!!!

huh? why would he want that if he's rooted?
Because the hboot is used for newer installs and if its not right everything will not work correctly.

Hi all!
A few days ago I rooted my stock T989(ICS) using the galaxys2root method and everything went well. The only issue I ran into though, when I turn off my phone normally (hold power then shutdown), it will get stuck at the pink goodbye screen (as did about 3 others in the comment section of the GS2Root website). When I was unrooted, turning off the device normally, it would hangup a bit at the pink goodbye screen as well, only for about 30 seconds at the most though. In this current state, I've ran this over 5 minutes and it still stays at the pink goodbye screen.
I didn't see this to be too much of an issue since I use notification toggle, which has a a restart and power off toggle that I can access in the notification bar for rooted users. But last night I didn't charge my phone so it was dead when I woke up. The thing is, it was hot. So I'm thinking it got hung up on the pink goodbye screen until the very last drop of battery left. So it just worry's me in the long run if it happens again here and there of affecting the battery. It showed 0% when I plugged in to charge and did take a while to go past that number.
Some background:
-Completely stock rom and kernels (know nothing about flashing/intimidating to do for me as I don't want to ruin anything)-slowly looking into it though
-Only rooted because I wanted to save some game data.
-I've already done factory reset but it didn't fix the issue.
Hopefully any input will help out others with the same problem as well!

Either that or install a shell, umount, then wipe properly.

Darkside Cache Wipe always fixes my issues. It's said not to use CWM fix permissions or cache wipes. Using the Darkside also aligns your card.

Thanks guys! So DarkSide it is then.
So in order to do this, it's essentially just like rooting, right?
This is how I'm thinking of it based on GS2Root's video:
-Boot into clockwork mod recovery
-Install zip from sd card
-Choose zip from sd card
-Find DarkSide Cache Wipe in where ever folder I put it in (which I finally found the download link and hoping this is the right one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955)
-Choose the zip and apply.
-Done?
Are these the right steps? Or is there anything special after and/or before that I need to do? Don't have to install the DarkSide rom beforehand?
Also, would I ever need to uninstall this for an update? I just read somewhere on my drippler app that t mobile or samsung will provide a future update for bug fixes, but not jelly bean.
That's correct steps then just reboot. It's a script that does what cwm should do plus more. It will wipe both cache partitions then properly fix permissions. It's not installing anything so it won't effect any future updates. Also doesn't matter what Rom your on, it's not specific. Just a fix for cwm not working correctly.

I did that and for me what had happened is that it would stall at the loading screen and not budge until I did a cwm restore. Can anyone explain what is going on?

I was having the issue with the phone hanging on goodbye screen and not shutting off. I ran the darkside wipe now hung on start screen. I'm fairly new can anyone help please.
darkside wipe deleted your rom and its data... thats what its designed to do.... do you cant go past the start screen because there is nothing to boot too... reflash your rom or get a different rom.

Did you run the superwipe as you are directed to do? it is a pretty simple process and it will not wipe your ROM.

Superwipe will in fact wipe your ROM. Cache wipe will not wipe your ROM, and will probably help with the reboot hangs.
Superwipe is for before you flash a ROM.
Cache wipe is for problems after an install.
