I dont know about you guys but i just recently have found the beauty called IRC. I have had since fixed countless problems on my G2/Ubuntu. But I am now facing a problem i cant seem to fix. When trying to view IRC on my phone i get the same error every time "Server requires SASL authentication". I have been connecting to these servers with no problems in the past and now it seems no matter what I do i just cant seem to connect. I do understand that this is Tmobiles fault yet other people successfully connect because they use IRC apps that support SASL auth. I to have also tryed these but just like the apps that dont support SASL... i get the SASL error. I was wondering what app and setup anyone here uses that allows them to successfully connect to IRC. Thanks!

Hello All,
First off I'm very sorry if this has been posted before. I have searched for hours and can't seem to find a solution.
I just recently got a Dash. Wifi works great on it at my home through WEP. However, at my university's campus I am unable to connect. My school uses 802.1x PEAP routers, where everyone trying to connect has to input their username, password and domain. I entered in all the information in my Dash but I get a certificate error. A friend of mine who has a HTC Diamond has a program on his phone that will disable that error from happening and he is able to connect to the campus Wifi. Is there a solution to this problem or a program that will allow me to override this message?
Thanks for your time.
i searched around and read many many threads like this...not one has a solution. seems is a windows f**k up yet again.
http://www.jacco2.dds.nl/networking/crtimprt.html
check that out
also, google Funk Software Odyssey and read about that
Thanks a lot for your help. I guess I'll keep looking for a solution. There's got to be a fix out there.

I see that a few other people have had the same issue and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. Uzard give me a error message that "my phone radio is off" and wont connect. Anybody know what I can do?
Finaaly figured it out. It did connect using wifi then i thought maybe i should put the sim card back in even though i dont use it because im cdma and that did it. Uzard is pretty good in situations where opera mini wont work. still testing.
First, please put an actual subject message instead of just [Q] in the future.
Make sure your cellular radio is active (or wifi, if that's how you connect). If it is, then verify that you are able to connect with another browser like Opera.
Also note that Uzard is a proxy browser. Meaning that the sites you visit are pre-rendered on their servers. I've used this browser before as a replacement for Skyfire, and was not impressed. Their servers go down fairly often, from what I've seen and read. This may also be the case with you right now.

Not sure how i even found this post. I guess i was searching info on Uzard.
I dumped Uzard altogether. I switched to using it after Skyfire stopped supporting windows Mobile devices. Uzard on my Tilt2 was soooo sticky, jumped and stick so bad that it wasnt worth the headache. At the time, my tilt had plenty processing room even though it was a proxy server i was tapping into. so it wasnt my phone that was the prob.
.... looks like im gonna have to move to android if i want to view flashfiles.. i dont care for windows7
I read that they were looking for some testers in #G2ROOT and I was curious about getting involved. That being said, its eaisier for the most part to join an IRC on my phone. When I try to connect to the channel it says I need to identify via SASL. Anybody know what's up with that?
I know some people have had issues with SASL and T-Mobile, but I can't remember the exact fix.
However, if you want to be a tester, we would need you to be on a computer, with adb setup properly, as it will be impossible to test stuff otherwise.
If you cannot be bothered downloading an irc client, that's fine, just use http://webchat.freenode.net/ to connect.
What could/would you test for us anyway?

I do have an irc client and have adb up and running. I just feel more comfortable with it being open on a phone. Its just on my G2 I have the issue with.
To respond to your question, I saw a post in the downgrading thread about how somebody was looking for testers. Although I don't mind testing anything on my G2.
Sent from my G2 using XDA App
Hello,
I'm a happy G3 owner, D855, 3Gb/32GB International version. I rooted using IOroot successfully and have done 2 OTA updates since then, currently on 10g, root still on.
I'm having major issues when trying to connect to WIFI routers in cafes/restaurants/hotels, public places in general, whereas my wife's phone and my smartwatch (believe it or not, with its mini antenna in the wrist bands (Omate Truesmart)) connects from the first try.
On the G3, I get "Authentication error" almost always, but it is working properly at my home, my parents house etc.. Only in public places or rather in places where there are a lot of people connected usually.
Does anybody have an idea what to do to solve this issue?
Many thanks for any help/tips
Chris
I do not have same issue but very simillar. Everytime wanna connect to public wifi LG G3 Android 5.0 show up screen with "login into network". Nothing more. Web browser won´t open page with login name and password even own web browser is not openning anyway. It works before Lollipop arrived...
I have the same problem, do you solve it?
You could disable "Show passwords" (Settings / Security) and try again. For some people this appears to work :good:
Hello xda community!
I have a strange and serious problem: I can't connect to hidden WiFi's.
I'm with a LG G3 D855 10H (no newer versions available).
At work we use a hidden WiFi without password but with Juniper VPN.
When I type in the network name and save it, it tries one time to connect, then my LG G3 shows "not in range". After a few seconds, the WiFi is on the top again with a very good signal.
When I try to connect again, it shows "not in range" again and so on.
I tried it at home and created a hidden network and it was reproducible.
Anyone else has problem with this?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Jake

Now that is what you call a 'special' post!
Would you care to explain how it was resolved for the people that have the problem.
My problem still exists, but isn't urgent anymore.
I found out, Android itself have problems (or restrictions?) to hidden WiFi networks.
I also found an app names HiddenSSID Enabler, but it seems it didn't work for me (or G3?).
If someone has a solution it still would be very helpful fo rme and the rest of the community.

I have logs posted in my first post, WIFI DESTROYED TWICE or there abouts.
I've had to resort to DATA and its killing me haha i think i am getting close to fixing it, well i think i may be closer than you two and can one of you kindly take the lead as im reinstalling windows and i haven't gamed in 6 days :|
/system/etc/wifi/WCNSS_qcomcfg.ini
then the problem is complex but i am sure it is something to do with gEnableApProt=1
Offshoot fix, reinstall using googled imei number that doesn't have a flag or some how fix the flag <READ A FEW DAYS BACK>
I think actually the program that stuffed me was Airmon by maxters. It asked me if i was pro and of course, i said yes. Who would simply click no? I know a ninj wouldn't click no. I think there is a manual reinstall to link to it again i find the modem in its own partition having a chill, most likely trojan/backdoor and pwning everything around me.. I had three encrypted vpn backdoors and escalated accounts on my computer I paid the 5$ for the binarys, i think i paid 5$ for the back doors.
Not to sell Airmon out though.. Rooting our phones and accessing countless forums and websites really does leave us rather "xposed" some other cuplrits may be dsploit, ROM manager, linux Deploy/kali, Pamn IP scanner, system app remover pro, busybox pro's (Stephen/JRummy) or CMinstall/accessing the forums and trying to install cynagenmod / twrp recovery. I'm probably going to go with..... Airmon/Linuxdeploy or uninstalltool. But may have just been my IP logged and i hit a booby trap script along the way.
You guys done anything of the sort?
/Thread killller
Neither I understand what you are talking about, nor am I (as not native english speaker) good at "sentence guessing".
I have a rooted phone - of course.
But I'm pretty sure my WiFi is not destroyed...
