Good Power Control Widget for 2.3.3/SGS2 - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hey guys,
I am looking for a good energy/power control widget that is fully compatible with Android 2.3.3.
I have been using Widgetsoid on Froyo, but a lot of functions don't work well on Gingerbread. Like GPS toggle or data toggle ...
What are you guys using? The Samsung built in one? I mean it's ok, but not really configurable and I don't like its design.
thx
boba

curvefish has an individual widget for everything

App for toggles in notification bar?

Is there an app to put toggles in the pull down bar so I can customize what buttons are there? Thanks

Don't think so.
But most custom ROMs these days have it automatically built in.
And if they don't, there are usually flashable zips for it in the Themes/Apps section.
Widgetsoid does this. It's slightly buggy (ie: a popup with the widget comes up when you toggle something) and you have to have the widget on a homescreen. The widget can be invisible if you so choose but it still takes up space (I think, never tried it). If you have multiple launchers just put it on the one you're not using if you don't want it.
But yeah, it's a great toggle app & it's free. I used the notification toggles before I switched to cyanogenmod, now I don't need them but I still use the widgets.
By the way, you'll need to get the version named "widgetsoid 2.x*
Hope this is what you're looking for :]

Torch app?

Anyone found a torch (or flashlight, light, whatever) app that works? None of the ones I've tried work :'( Widget would be cool too.
"Tiny Flashlight + LED" works a charm for me.

Same here, has a neat widget that allows you to control use the LED light, or light up the screen in a desired colour etc.
I might try develop one that fits with the ICS them as my first application

Brightist Flash works for me.
torch app for nexus
I like TeslaLED. I like the widget w/o name. Works great.
there was a similar thread going around a few months ago where someone suggested Search Light, i've been using it since. it's very simple, has no ads, and also doesn't have all the extra permissions that a lot of these torch/flashlight apps seem to require. all it needs is access to the camera.
Market Link
Old thread with some other feedback on some of the apps mentioned above
Search Light is absolutely cleanest and sleekest.

"Galaxy Nexus Flashlight" from the Market. It's free and works exactly like the Cyanogen torch.

Quick Settings / Quick Toggles

Hi all
Is there a quick toggle mod for the notification drop down menu like found on stock TouchWiz and Sense devices? Not looking for widgets on the "desktop"
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You can try Widgetsoid in the Market. It will allow you to place themed toggles in the notification area without a widget. Just make sure you select "hide widgets".
That could work, however, I was looking more for a hard mod that could be flashed in there, like in past devices that I've used that didn't feature this by default (back in the Sense 2.1 days).
Like this? Its available on this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383210

I haven't seen a separate mod. You can always ask the rom developer to make a flashable zip for you.

Yes, as long as the major toggles are all there (wifi, bt, gps, etc...) that is exactly it. Of course, on Touch Wiz, it's just one horizontal line of toggles (like the widget on the Nexus), and that is the cleanest. On sense 3.0, it's a vertical list of toggles.

It only has the 3 toggles at the moment.

I'm using widgetzoid but I would love the toggle bar from SGS2 ported to the gn.

I tried turning on the notification toggle in widgetsoid, it doesn't even show up for me.
Also, seeing how the music player can have different buttons in the same row, I don't see why it can't be possible for other apps to use this functionality too.
Edit: Widgetsoid works perfectly, almost exactly the same as the CM toggle bar (sans the side scrolling)
Someone should be able to make a new app for ics,
you can add buttons in the dropdown now so it should be possible with out a custom rom or even root
Is this what you are looking for?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037817
"With this app, you can place different toggles into your Android status/notification bar for quick access without having a dozen toggle-widgets on your homescreens
You can choose which toggles to display in the settings of the app. You can also choose to combine different toggles into one "all in one" notification.
Unfortunately, on most devices you can only define one action per notification, so on these it will show a small dialog with the available toggles when clicking on the "all in one" notification. But some devices (seems like all devices with HTC Sense ROM) can distinguish where in the notification you clicked and on these you don't have to see the dialog.
The app is for free in the Android market, would be nice to get some feedback"

Flashable lockscreen or toggles?

I'm looking for a lockscreen with more options like what's available in some roms. Basically looking for more shortcuts and battery percentage. I know about widgetlocker but it doesn't work as nicely as a built in lockscreen .
Also looking for notification toggles. Again I know some roms have them but I want to try something different.

For Lockscreens the best option is a Custom ROM (AOKP) it has battery %, Octo Screen with 8 customisable shortcuts and icons.
for Notification toggles try Widgetsoid from the market. Can be customised a lot.
Thanks but I've tried aokp and it hasn't been totally stable for me, plus some lag. I want to try a lighter rom like redemption but I think I'd miss out on the lockscreen and toggles.

Default Weather Widget - Shortcut Change?

Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the shortcut for the default S3 weather widget? Instead of it directing you to Accuweather, I would prefer that it opens up Weatherbug.
Why don't you just place the weather bug widget on your screen instead of the stock one?

Thanks ... I would use the weather bug widget, but it doesn't have the clock built in. I also considered using Fancy Widgets which is similar to the HTC interface ... I just liked the way the stock one looked and was hoping there was a way.

Yeah would be nice also if you touched the clock it would take you to your alarm or other alarm app and when you touch the weather it would open whatever weather app you wanted. One thing i miss about HTC is there widgets nothing else compared IMO
Hd Widgets isn't like the stock clock widget but it's highly customizable and 2 set ups look like the sense clocks. From the original evo is one and the other is from the new Evo 4G lte
Also weather services include accuweather, weather bug, and weather underground. I've made posts about changing the provider on the stock clocks and usually don't get a reply saying someone knows how so I just use a 3rd party one
thanks look good keep up great work
Thanks for the follow up ... I am going to check out HD Widgets ... it looks similar to the version included on the EVO
I use it and love it. You will not be disappointed.
I am using it now and agree ... very very cool!!
