yes, in the thread that you downloaded the ROM from. for future reference, I would read the post of the ROM you flash before flashing. It usually contains useful information such as extra files you flash after flashing the ROM. actually in your case, when you flash the ROM it actually tells you that it created a .zip file that you were supposed to flash after booting into the phone once.

if your talking about the gfx fix, that was for b1.1, i am running b1.1.2. It doesn't put any other zip files on my sd card and I have went thru hundreds of pages in the thread i downloaded the rom from with no luck of finding the fix. the gfx fix does not work for my problem. this is nothing on the paperclip in that thread either.

Alright. Thanks. Didn't know if anyone had found a fix for it yet. I use V player from the market till someone figures this out.

I honestly dont look for it to get fixed until the kernel source code is released

I think I'll live without it being able to playback from within the gallery. At least it does record.

Flash 10.1 apk

I was reading the news last night and it would seem some clever bloke has managed to get Flash 10.1 on the Evo 4G with Eclair. Well I took the plunge last night and it works on the Desire too. The playback for me wasn't brilliant on video, but games and websites that didn't work previously now do.
you guys might want a look while we wait for Froyo.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/flash-10-1-for-nexus-one-works-on-htc-evo-too-no-froyo-needed/
It's been posted in ROM Dev but people are saying it's not working...
thats odd it's working here... hmm.
I tried youporn and even that worked, but due to the framerate, I now understand the real meaning of jerking off lol.
Tried it and but didn't work on bbc

Are you sure you're not just getting fed the MP4 video files like most video sites offer? How do you know it's Flash?
I just checked and youporn works for me without installing anything.

If miniclip works then you know flash 10.1 is working.
As that is flash based games which wont work on lite player.
Video sites like youporn have worked on my desire and I haven't had chance to flash it yet.
Just thought 10.1 would mean better framerates.

I got a site that dont work with flash lite but I doubt many people on ere would wanna see that. lol
try Kontraband.com
this site doesn't work on the desire without 10.1. I never got it to work before i installed the apk. youporn was a bit of a joke, but kontraband, adobe tv also works.

Kontraband.com games are also working
Apart from touchscreen not working on them so it being useless. The games themselves are loading up and running fine here (this is where I dearly wish I could take screenshots).
Some vids which are using Flash embedded within sites also work fine with the stock Flash lite, but others don't. For instance, this viddler embed works fine for me from the stock Desire browser:
http://m.lifehacker.com/5303091/springpad-takes-your-life-data-mobile
But any site with YouTube embeds doesn't. I'm not yet sure why one works and the other doesn't.

[Q] Audio downgrade with Froyo?

Got the OTA Froyo last night and I have noticed the audio quality on several different occasions is very poor. Specifically, when running a game with Gameboid or other emus, the sound is terrible.
The audio is also ridiculously distorted when streaming flash videos, like on Crunchyroll.
That being said, the built in internet explorer does not seem to have taken to the flash 10.1, when I try to run something with flash, it says I'm outdated and to upgrade, however, when I try to 'update' flash, it can not find the page in the market, nor can I search for it.
Dolphin will run flash 10.1 but there is still no market page for it.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems with flash it the audio? Or does anyone have a fix for this?
There's definitely a sound problem. There's a fix from Adrynalyne out there in the wild. I'd link it but I don't know where it is off the top of my head, but at least I am telling you it's out there, right!?!
Search for stagefright.

I'm not sure that Adrynalyne's fix will work in a non rooted phone.
I'm using Skyraider's 3.0 RC3 Sense...both Pandora and XM/Sirius is working fine.

[TRACKER] Netflix on CM7 - Summary, plus bug tracker

Hi everyone,
I though it'd be helpful to at least attempt to centralize the discussion on this, since everything's a little spread out. To summarize what I think we know so far:
1) Netflix streaming DOES NOT WORK on our G2 when running CM7-stable.
2) Netflix streaming DOES work on a G2 running stock 2.2.
3) Netflix streaming DOES work on a G2 running CM7-RC2.
4) Netflix streaming DOES work on other devices running CM7-stable.
5) Netflix streaming DOES work on UNSUPPORTED devices running CM7-stable, such as the Nook Color, when the build.prop is spoofed to replicate OUR PHONE.
Given the above facts, I thought it would be appropriate to submit this to bug tracker. If you think it deserves it, you can star the issue here - http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=3723. I also think that if possible, further discussion should happen within this specific topic (or some other centralized one), so that people aren't out of luck by not happening to find the one topic in a dozen where progress was made.
I played a video using my nook, then tried with the G2, and collected logs via DDMS. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to filter just for errors or not, so I didn't - these are the raw log files, attached here.
EDIT - I had to save the G2 log in word, because it was too big of a .txt file.
hmm.. i tried Netflix on my G2 lastnight after reverting to CM7 RC2 and had the same problem. I'll try again tonight though, this time i'll uninstall the app, clear cache and flash CM7 RC2 and then reinstall app
I thought I read somewhere that people were saying it DOES work on the leaked T-Mobile Gingerbread build for G2. So it's something directly related to CM7 itself. I'm running nightly 74 and it does not work.

I've actually tried it on the leaked Gingerbread ROM and it didn't work there either. It did however give me a blank white screen instead of a black screen though. I have gotten it to work on my G2 on both stock 2.2 and CM6. I also have a Defy running CM7 (not a stable build) and it works perfectly on it. It's got to be some combination of Gingerbread and the G2.

Yes, this is exactly why. Not sure the exact reason why. Nexus one and nexus s are only ones that work on gingerbread.
Does anyone have a prop file for the nexus one running android 2.3? Maybe that would work for us the same way the g2 prop file worked for g2x users?

Been stated by people in the know (not me), that it's not a build/identifying issue. It's a rom issue. The rom developer will have to re-work the rom.

Well, might be, but just sounds odd that people are using the g2 build.prop to get Netflix working on other devices not even supported by Netflix yet. I'm not saying its the build.prop and certainly sounds like a ROM issue but that just strikes me as odd.

How do you get the logs? Any way you can make the g2 logs a regular .doc or .txt?

I have DDMS open while I run the app and try to play something, and just note where the app starts and stops by watching then export the relevant parts.
It's too long for either of those file type, but .docx is the default from word, if you can't open it on your laptop then I bet google docs could do it if you save then upload it.

Whoops, accidentally hit thanks instead of quote. Anyway,
I have my NC running netflix, it takes two simple build.prop changes to the model and manufacturer lines, making them HTC Vision and HTC. That's all, then it works.

After comparing the logs of my N1 and G2, it seems as if the G2 cyanogen build does not have the drm. When the G2 Netflix app goes to check OMXCORE it returns drm_play not available, whereas the N1 checks out fine and get a bunch of OMXCORE checks.
Also if I'm not mistaken, the G2 (and many other phones) does not officially have gingerbread yet so it only makes sense that 2.2 is the prereq for all the non-nexus phones.
So it would make sense for it to work on other devices that had the DRM, if you just simply changed the build.prop id's
I posted this elsewhere, but I thought it would be useful to put it here to. The Dropbox link is a .txt, btw.
In regards to the problems we have been having with netflix, I have a logcat. This was obtained with Catlog, and was recording from the time I started the app to when I was returned to the menu after the movie crashes. Its a Dropbox link, here ya go: http://db.tt/vPp12DT

Incorrect. I just changed that (manufacturer line already was HTC, but the model was T-Mobile G2) and rebooted. Same issue. Audio plays fine, but video is just a white screen.

no it doesn't. tells you that you need to install flash player, and links you to flash 11 on the market. nice find tho, and i may as well keep it (thanks to the "setInstallLocation 2" tip, it's on my sd card now, so it's not like its taking up space
I can get iplayer to load but it plays like a slide show. I am using the stable cm7.
As i have stated in other threads, BBC IPLAYER did work using this version of flash and cm7 beta 1 however, whence i swithched to cm7 stable it lost its flash capabilities.
Alquez thinks its kernel related. I would love flash working.
Will try this. Thanks

Already in a screenie.
Hey guys,
There have been updates on this app since, but there seems to be a common challenge. Flash wants to peep out its libs in data instead of system. The solution is to copy the libs both places. One can choose to use symlinks to data and it has worked if any of you space saver devs cares for tip. I hope someone will go seek out such new updates and trump this thread so it may fade. Won't have time to administrate it further.
Thanks,
Rob
So there is any new flash working better with OC'ed Roms? I really wanna watch tv shows on phone but stream is so slow and fps low.
thanx buddy
Wow! Thanks a lot for the link dude, between this, my new ROM, and OC kernel - I actually love my phone now - hated it when I got it stock lol...
great job guys
Thanks man working very well.............
Working on ICS?
Thanks guys
Not working on CM9 RC2
Heh.. graphics will be called into question for armv6 on ics and beyond.. I'm sure you've read of the omax il challenges [typically referenced for camera].. Well to get ics working, hal must be rebuilt and other standards used.. Thus this device doesn't have an official cm9rc2 that I'm aware of. On unofficial versions, consult the dev who made it; as, they will know what workaround method was implored.

ICS Video camera

Quick question - now that the photo camera on ICS for Desire Z is mostly working, would it be hard to get it to make movies?
I have no idea how hard this is to do. Just asking
You'd have to write the code.

I am not a developer, but I am certain that, yes, this is a very hard thing to do and I really haven't read anything about progress in this regard, since zbuw came up with the initial workaround to get the camera partially working.
The main problem still seems to be that, so much code has changed in ICS that we basically need new drivers from htc or qualcomm in order to get it fully working. I expect that we won't see full camera functionality until a leak comes up from which we can extract the drivers (I don't know enough about the similarities of other devices, hardware-wise, to guess on how likely this is.

That's normally fair game but you're replying to someone who can't even post in the dev section yet, don't make him download backup wipe flash discover it isn't working then restore.. no, to the best of my knowledge (having just tested it and seen it reported elsewhere) recording does not work at this time (unless some wild development has happened in the past couple days).

thanks. I will give that a shot. I kinda need video recording working from time to time, so it will be painful running ROM without it ... is that true that none of ICS ROMs have the video camera working (just pic taking)?
From everything I have read either here or CM, what I believe they are waiting on is drivers from either HTC or Qualcom to further develop the camera. I believe they have it working somewhat. I am NOT a dev by any stretch just passing along what I have read.
Hope this helps

Yes this is true, and even picture taking is iffy at best (you have to install third party app and most people can only take non-buggy pictures at VGA (really low) quality)
If you need video recording AT ALL do not use ICS yet.
thanks guys, those statements change the ground. in fact I will wait a little longer until those drivers get released and developers can fix camera issues.
I use camera for pics often and videos occasionally, so I wouldn't like a phone like that at all.
also, what does it mean that GPS is "kinda" working now (Andromadus v10), it's broken or not?
I use Google Navigation frequently whenever I get lost or traveling to current closest (unknown) chain store location and such ... and I kinda rely on that ... I guess I need to wait for a beta ROM, alphas are not for me yet.
