https://twitter.com/#!/fedecarnales/status/71367506698317824
Direct Download Link: http://bit.ly/luHFGO
Get it before MS forces it to be taken down..

isn't this the alpha that came out ages ago?

Nope.. this was released two days ago.. 20th May.. Lots of fixes.. Bringing it to the xda community..

This. Is. Beautiful.
I love how it grabs a picture of the artist from Last.FM and use it as a background. Eye candy it might be, but damn fine it is.
As expected of an alpha release, there are quite a few bugs, and it seems to have problem playing VB mp3 files, but it definitely has potential.

Nice. Works for me. This has potential.

WOW. Beautiful! Too bad it doesn't have equalizer and stuff anywhere, but i might not have looked properly.

Yeah.. its just something else! looks amazing.. definitely a head turner compared to the stock player

Thanks, it's really nice.

welcome.. do click my thanx button if you found it useful.. thanx

Already seen it ln engadget. A bit lacking on features, but for an alpha it works amazing. I have had almost no fc, and it looks amazing.
Waiting in anticipation for future updates

Yes, this is now my preferred music player, having loaded version 3. Very polished and smooth even at this early stage.
However, found the genre section picking up odd or non existent (as far as I was concerned) labels. Tried various methods to resolve it, but the only thing that has worked is using 'video & genre cleaner' app from the market and totally sorted out the genre labels...just in case anyone else comes across this.
As a side note did anyone get a pop up on installation about this stopping in early July and informing that it should then be available on the market?
Having loaded & unloaded it initially to try to sort out the genre issue, it hasn't come up again during install.

Alpha 3 : http://launcherpro.com/music/
Change log
Alpha 3:
Fixed some out-of-memory FCs related to album artwork and artist backgrounds.
Fixed a FC when "shuffle all" was pressed before having played any songs.
Fixed the previous song's album art showing in Now Playing when no artwork is found for the current song.
Fixed a visual glitch for album art in the Now Playing screen on Honeycomb.
Enabled vertical scrolling in Now Playing (portrait mode) for low resolution devices devices like HTC Wildfire.
Modified status bar notification layout to include album art of the currently playing song.
Added menu item to go back to Library from the Now Playing screen (Menu > Library)
Added menu item to open the Now Playing screen from any other screen (Menu > Now Playing)
In the Now Playing screen, clicking on the artist name will take you to that artist's screen. Same with album name.
Disabled artist background downloading when roaming, and data roaming is disabled on your phone.
You can now long-press any song/artist/album/playlist/genre to add it to the current play queue.
Added compatibility for scrobbling with the Last.fm app
Added a Settings screen (in the main "Music" screen press Menu > Settings)
Added support for controlling playback with your headset. You can disable this in the settings.
Added option to download artist backgrounds only when connected to Wi-Fi to avoid data charges.
Added option to change the UI accents color (default is blue).
Added a provisional icon to the app.

There's many games as well such as the THD game's like Fruit Ninja THD, and games that look good on the big screen like Radiant. Also launcher's like LauncherPro are really neat on phones but just aren't that smooth or fast scrolling wise for tablets.
Hope these apps may make your experience with the Thrive a little more useful, they have for me since we've been getting quite honestly poor support here in Aus.
Btw I'm just looking at app's that aren't for rooted users since I know it's quite new on the Thrive/AT100 and I personally myself don't plan on rooting.

Use VTL Launcher at your own risk. If you check the WEB page, it says it is not compatible with Honeycomb. Some individuals on Toshiba Thrive Forum has reported ending up in a boot loop after installing this. Not all have had this issue. That is why I am saying to use this at you own risk.

Someone on TF posted this site: http://tablified.com/
Ran across the beta of BeyondPod on there...might have to invest in this one.
I have been using it for some time on my Thrive. It did however, cause a boot loop when I set it as the default launcher. Otherwise (knock on wood), it is working fine.

I haven't had any issues with VTL myself, guess I'm just lucky. Btw, does anyone else have a home replacement that is smooth and just as functional on a tab?
I'm using TINYPLAYER for my mp3's.
Its a pure player.
No Art work or search controls. Shows music by file name from folder you set. I actually like it like that. Has shuffle repeat and random. Also another cool feature is font re-size.
But one problem with it don't know if other are having same problem. When using the app and you initiate the g sensor that would reorient the screen the player give error about cant find the SD card. I play music when I drive so this really erks me. Bumps are fine but soon as I turn I get the error. I store my music on the SD card about 10 gigs worth.
where can i get the penpower chinese writing pad that works with thrive??
My Spider Solitaire should work without problems on Thrive: https://market.android.com/details?id=magory.solitairespiderhd. It is designed for tablet screens (doesn't work on phones). I'm working on some improvements now (expect them next week). Am also working on another, more advanced game. Writing for Android is fun.

hey all, the not sure why it hasn't been said yet but adw ex works like it was made for the thrive. Very stylish seen transitions and I can't explain how fast it is (you need to try it yourself) it also allows you to use more of the screen unlike the stock. All widgets and are resizable, you can create as many or as little screens (I prefer to have received rather than the standard 5)

Thanks I'll be sure to check it out. I personally wonder how you have so many screens, I can barely fill 3 screens lol.
I installed Adw ex today after trying other stuff that wouldn't work and I really like it. Very smooth and adaptable. Im scared to try the other one, but I am sure they will update it to work with 3.1 soon.

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with the other one but I'm using ADW ex just 'cause it's smoother. But what bugs me is the little icon on the top left. My homescreen is generally black and white themed and the icon just sticks out so much lol.

I have a different tablet, but wanted to say I totally agree! You can disable it with the hide/show action bar widget, however it comes back with a 90° rotation (not 180). I've written anderweb, so hopefully this gets changed.

The new update replaced it with an App Drawer icon which doesn't stick out as much.
I made a game for tablets (works on phones too, but is best on tablets): Memory Owl HD (https://market.android.com/details?i...ry.memoryowlhd).

HTC HUB updated (again) December

HTC HUB updated(mango). Its seems htc just released a newer version its more panoramic now. Besides that change it has stocks and is a bit laggy but all in all its great. Now you can Pin stocks, get a 4day forecast, pin weather for separate locates, added news like cnn, htc etc.
Also forgot to mention completely new ui and animations have changed. Already miss the rain windshield wiper.
December Update: No noticable ui changes

No problem now im waiting on a HTC YouTube update because that app needs an overhaul.
Will pinned stock tiles update; i.e., are they live tiles?
Doesn't update for me. Shows install instead of update.
Tried lke 20 times. Won't go past 50% downloaded. EDIT: Yea, no way I'm gonna get this to update. Keeps erroring out at 40% downloaded. Oh well.
I want it for the RSS Reader, but really updating HTC apps on this phone has been a completely fail ever since the Mango update went out. Samsung has done a good job with theirs, though. Something to think about for the future

And now my old HTC Hub is nothing more than a download screen. What the hell?!
Now I have no HTC hub and a dummy entry that I unreadable in my app list.

Found issue. Unpin HTC hub before updating...

My download gets stuck at 50% and then gives me an error. Doesn't finish. Sad. I don't care for HTC Hub, but I like to see what new stuff it has every update.
Goes for the Dock application too. Almost finishes installing and then fails.
This new hub sucks. The tile is no longer live. It only updates when you open it.

Its working for me. I like that you can pin individual weather locations to the start screen in a single tile rather than a double wide one. I wish it flipped though so I'll be keeping accuweather for a while.
I use FUSE as my newsreader so I dont care for the rss part of the hub.
After how long does it update? I've had mine installed for ~ 4 hours now and it still reports the same temp as this morning..
Actually IMHO this new HUB is great, I like the way STOCKS and RSS READER are implemented in it. Just a side swipe and there they are!! GREAT

live tile works here as well. Worked after about 30minutes. But as somebody else said, it could show much more info with a flipping tile. hopefully they will change that.

I had no trouble updating the hub or any other HTC apps, I still have the older sound enhancer tho. really shouldn't be talking about what Samsung does in an HTC thread especially considering that Samsung is below the industry standard in CS.

It was always like that. The shortest update interval for the tile is 1 hour, IIRC, maybe 30 minutes minimum. It always updated like that. Nothing has changed there. It just looks different (better, IMO). The Actual Hub is much better than it was before.
And for people getting stuck at 50%, UNPIN THE TILE from your start screen. I put it in there, and I don't think anyone bothered to try that

Why are you being butthurt. Samsung's Apps update flawlessly - I know someone with a Focus. See her 3-5x a week at the rink. She didn't have any of these issues... Comparison is how you arrive at good or bad. Without a comparison base, you can't rate anything. Samsung is TERRIBLE for CS. Everyone knows this. Every Galaxy S owner knows this * 666.
HTC's Apps are a mess on Mango with the way they're constantly supported, unsupported, there, not there, crashing media player, pulled, stuck at 50% * 20+ attempts, etc. It's messy. That is all.
I DON'T have Sound Enhancer. The sound on my phone is terrible with out it.
That's okay, though. I just bought me a new iPod Touch so I won't have to deal with that, anymore.
For everybody who can't download update this is the link for taping from device web browser: http://windowsphone.com/s?appid=1a0ee8c2-48b1-df11-8a2f-00237de2db9e
I think so can be added to first post movie about HTC Hub after update:

did u read all of my last post? I said that I've had no issues updating the apps at all and my sound enhancer still works. and I even have the connected media app working now, sucks that u are now on the iTrain even tho Zune is so much better. and CS is customer satisfaction, not service.
Sorry, but Zune is not better than an iPod, especially not what's in WP7. They ripped out Zune Social. Sound Quality isn't anything near what it is with a Zune HD (which is so poorly supported IRT apps that it isn't even a consideration at this point). The iTouch also gives me a bit of utility that I don't have with the smartphones I own (like a FFC) in addition to access to a lot of really good apps - some of which do not exist on other platforms (and some of which are twice as expensive on other platforms vs. iOS).
I got it primaritly as a media player, that way when I kill my second smartphone line/SIM it won't matter which phone I throw away.
My point had nothing to do with what you had. I can factory reset my phone and get Sound Enhancer back as well, but I had to remove the one that's loaded to update it, because it showed up in the market as a separate app instead of an update, similar to Attentive Phone and Slacker/Slacker Radio. It's disappeared since then. That one app made the phone bearable as a PMP. It's not bearable without it.
And Apple has very high Customer Satisfaction, so if that's how you base your opinions I wonder why you're trolling me with terms like iTrain...?
/shrugs/ I even got WLM w/ Messenger Social and OneNote Mobile for free on iOS.

iPod better than zune or wp7? now u really must be on crack. HTC is also right below Crapple in customer satisfaction. HTC has sold more wp7 and android phones than any other OEM.

SENSE 4.0

New things and improvements in Sense 4.0:
- Landscape mode now also in home screen (with optimized buttons etc)
- No on-screen buttons (as on Nexus) but will adopt the 3 buttons (prev. 4)
- 3D Task manager
- Better lockscreen, with better integrated notifications, to-do-lists, notes, contacts etc.
- Updated Email client with threaded messages and improved layout (over all better email)
Smart Sync technology which syncs your email based on your usage habits
- Better Browser, with Read later and Watch later functions. Introducing a new Reader feature.
Reader:feature in browser strips away ads and other useless web clutter
Read/Watch Later: feature in browser saves content in a widget which can be accessed at a later time (even offline)
- Guest mode, lets your friends only test some basic stuff (no phone, data, and special apps)
- Better Camera - when it detects a face, it takes 5 pics and chooses the best one. (I guess a new version of Amaze cam?)
ImageSense: auto focus is 0.2sec, shutter time of 0.7sec
Dual Shutter Camera (video record and take photo at the same time!)
- DropBox integrated (25 GB for 2 years for free!)
- Beats Audio will be universal, meaning allowed in any 3rd part apps (Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, VPlayer, etc.)
- SoundHound seems to be integrated in the music app! (see pic attached in 1st post)
- SkyDrive integration (Microsofts cloud storage 25 GB free)
- Scrollable wallpapers are back. Changing wallpaper.
- Carousel and 3D effects are gone (to speed things up)
- New sounds (notifications etc)
Overall, loosing some of the bloated feel, and now being more grown up with improved speed etc.
reserved for later
HIT THANKS! its free
Thanks for infos, wasn't aware of the guest mode, that is really useful when a friend wants to test your phone
For the task manager I'm not convinced, it launches a too heavy UI for it. The default one of Android 4.0 was good enough. could be bad when you have to close many programs while having a slowdown cause the manager itself is heavy...
Oo, thanks for the update! Didn't realize Sense would actually be good this go around. Looks like it has some neat features.
Thanks for this, I have previously been a hater of Sense but Sense 4.0 is a whole new ball game
I hope text reflow is optional as I don't always like how it interferes with a webpage

For the task manager I'm not convinced, it launches a too heavy UI for it. The default one of Android 4.0 was good enough. could be bad when you have to close many programs while having a slowdown cause the manager itself is heavy...

Odd if tegra struggles with basic 3d effects even with some massive load.

The Qualcomm s4 is one of the absolute best chips made! dont think it will be a problem. neither with the quad-core
the program itself aint that big, even thought its "3d-effects" its just images put on the side, nothing dramastic really. so it shouldent be a problem.

This is interesting. What does it mean?
Does it stop background sync at 3am if it knows you are never awake at that time?

Guest mode sounds like a brilliant idea. Hopefully, you'll get to choose which apps can and cant be viewed when in guest mode. It'll be interesting to see how its implemented, making it a setting you can quickly access from the lock screen would be great too.
Any idea on whether sense 4.0 also includes face unlock?

Sure you can. Just install another launcher. (eg. APEX, GOlauncher, Launcherpro) It won't disable the entire sense interface (menu's lockscreen etc.) but you'll be able to live with it till CM9

This is a HTC ROM stripped from Sense. I have something similar on my Sensation. You can still have the HTC Camera App and other things you like from Sense. The rest will be stock ICS.

Favorite Pop-up/Floating Apps?

I have just come across "floating apps". I never knew they existed as of 10 min ago lol. Here is a list of some of the ones I've found that are very good. Please add to the list if you know of any more!
OverSkreen (Pop-up Browse: $2.49; INCOMPATIBLE WITH JELLYBEAN DEVICES!!)
Floating Browser Flux (Pop-up Browser: Free; Can purchase license key for more features)
Popup Browser BETA (Pop-up Browser: Free; hasn't been updated since 7/13/12)
AirCalc (Pop-up Calculator: Free)
Super Video (Pop-up Video/YouTube Player: Free)
Care to inform me what floating apps are?

I use a multitasking/quick launching app called SwipePad which allows you to launch your favourite apps from inside other apps by simply sliding your finger from the edge of the screen (you designate the area). It has some extensions too that allow you to quickly swap between recent apps and also an extension that allows you to open widgets on top of the currently open app.
The widget pop-up is not something you use every day but very useful in certain situations.
By the way did you know that you can use one browser to play a youtube playlist whilst you surf with the pop up browser. That's something you cannot do with a normal tabbed browser.
Updated the OP!

I used Super Video for a little while. It worked pretty well, but I was a bit spoiled with the stock TW video player, so I wasn't horribly impressed with the Super Video interface. That being said, if I hadn't gotten so used to the TW one, I would've loved it. I'm back to MX Player now, which I thoroughly enjoy (I'd rather have a rock-solid video player that doesn't float than a mediocre one that does).

[LIST]Great Apps You haven't heard of + Share YOUR App Recommendations Here!

By no means am I taking credit for this. I have copied this over from the 9505 with permission from IRONMAN link to original thread
I will be maintaining this thread over here.....
As said per IRONMAN:
Hello, everyone. I have decided to make this Recommend-An-App thread so that YOU can share your favorite apps with everyone in this community.
****BUT THERE IS ONE CONDITION NO SUPER POPULAR APPS****
Don't post apps like PowerAMP and Flipboard and Swiftkey. EVERYONE knows about these apps.
The purpose of this thread is to make everyone aware of new apps which are largely unheard of. Apps which are not so popular. I was too tired of seeing numerous lists full of apps I already knew about.
So everyone, start posting! A brief summary would be appreciated (Unless the name is self-explanatory) as well as a PlayStore link (we all are too lazy to search for ourselves)
I will try to keep this list as up-to-date as possible.
1) Atom Launcher- A great launcher with many options for customization while maintaining a minimalistic look. I personally recommend Typo Black Theme to go along with it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kbHRvLmF0b20ubGF1bmNoZXIiXQ..
Typo Black Theme- https://play.google.com/store/apps/...oZXJleC50aGVtZS5OYW11U01vZGVyblR5cG9CbGFjayJd
2) WordWeb - In my opinion, THE best dictionary out there. Why? Because its offline. Doesn't require an internet connection!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...53b3Jkd2Vic29mdHdhcmUuYW5kcm9pZC53b3Jkd2ViIl0.
3) Wallbase - I've tried 'em all and nothing has helped me find better wallpapers than this app. And most of them are full HD.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jaXRjLndhbGxiYXNlIl0.
4) LyricsPlayer - This app shows a notification on the status bar when you're playing music, clicking on it automatically searches for the lyrics and displays them.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...EsImNvbS5saW5rLmFuZHJvaWQubHlyaWNzcGxheWVyIl0.
5) Holo Compass - The most minimalistic and cool looking compass around.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDEsInBsLnN1cml4LmhvbG8uY29tcGFzcyJd
6) Circle Alarm - A holo themed and minimalistic alarm app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50amVhbm5pbi5hbGFybSJd
7) Node- Just a super cool live wallpaper
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zdWZmaWNrLm5vZGUiXQ..

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImF1LmNvbS5waWNrdXAucG1tIl0.
9) T.E.A.M. Battery Bar - This displays a coloured bar on top of the status bar showing the battery level (remember MIUI?). A must have for me.

11) ConvertIt - Another holo themed and minimalistic app, this one is a unit converter.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=42539176
12) Phone Addict - This great little app counts how many times I check my phone. Over a period of time, shows the day I checked my phone the most times, the least times, and how often I check on average.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5wYW5kdXRlY2hub2xvZ3kucGhvbmVhZGRpY3RmcmVlIl0.
13) Llama - For me this app is a MUST HAVE. I'll explain how it works. Basically, when you're at home or at work, your phone is getting signal from multiple cellphone towers nearby. What this app does is remember these towers and triggers certain profiles when they are in the vicinity. So, when I reach home, my phone automatically turns silent and when none of these towers are in range i.e. when I'm outside, it automatically increases the ring volume. You'll have to let it scan once, of course.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5rZWJhYi5MbGFtYSJd
14) Godville - This is a super simple game. You are God and you create your hero and lead him on quests etc. Superb time-killer.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5yai5wcm9jZXNzaW5nLnBsYXNtYXNvdW5kaGQiXQ..
16) Sensor Music Player - A music player which lets you use various sensors to change track, pause etc. For example, if I'm using my headphones and my phone is in my pocket, I can just tap my pocket to change the track. Pretty cool. eh?

Persist - This app can lock various volumes into certain levels. For example I never use a ringtone. Ever. I use vibrate as my ringer 100% of the time. But if the phone moves in my pocket the volume keys can get hit and change the volume level to either silent (no vibration) or loud (probalem in my office environment). This app lets you lock the ringer, or any other volume, in a specific spot.

Reversi - Simplest game I've ever played and it's hopelessly addicting.

Full Screen Caller ID - It delivers just what it sounds like it's promising. It puts a full screen HD picture as the call screen instead of the stock Android one. There are 5 or 6 other apps that do the same thing but I've been using this one since I had a MyTouch3G when it was the only one of it's kind available and I couldn't live without it now. It's very customizable so you can make the screen look pretty much anyway you want for an incoming call and set whatever picture you want for each person in your address book. It also makes answerign and ignoring easy as you can swipe across any part of the screen. See the atatchement for what one of my friend looks like on an incoming call...you can add the phone number, make it landscape, change the font or text size, add answer and reject buttons or take them away as I have etc etc etc. And you can get to the original phone app with the dial pad and what not with a simple double tap on the screen.
I've never been able to figure out why this isn't stock with Android personally. That's how much I love this app.
